Blogging Breather & Facebook Study on Getting Organized

We interrupt this blog to bring you a few updates:

First, the winner of the Project Dad giveaway from Dr. Todd Cartmell is: Karen R. Please send your home address to me at [email protected] to claim your prize.

Second, I am off with my boys to the homeschool national baseball tournament in nearby Fort Wayne, IN being held today through the weekend.

Baseball. Lawn chairs. Sipping iced lattes. Staying in a college dorm with nearly 30 high school players & a handful of parents & siblings. And no Internet access.

It is always a blast! That is if the storms stay away. (By the way, remember to pray for those affected by these recent terrible storms!)

Also, my website will be switching servers and so I thought this weekend, with my absence, it being Memorial Day here in the states and my site needing to possibly be down for 24-48 hours, it would be a perfect time to take a blogging breather.

If you hop on this weekend & the site is down, don’t be alarmed. It isn’t the end of the world. That was last Saturday, remember? ;-)

I want to remind you too of my online Facebook study of The Complete Guide to Getting & Staying Organized. It begins June 1st (next Wednesday) for 4 weeks and will have ideas, chats, great giveaways, special guests and optional conference calls too!!

We’ll tackling de-junking, cleaning, time management, shopping, cooking, storage, laundry, teaching kids to pitch in, working smarter–not harder, creating white space in our calendars for God & our loved ones and much more!

If you want to join us and get motivated to manage your time and organize your “stuff” head over to the Karen Ehman’s Book Studies Facebook page and “like” it.

Scroll down for the suggested reading plan but don’t stress if you can’t keep up. Each chapter is stand alone so if you get off a week you can skip to the next chapter and topic and not be lost!

You can join the study by clicking here. Then, get the book and start reading. :-) Stay tuned to the page for further instructions.

Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here early next week!

  1. Karen,

I wanted to thank you for your organizing advice. I always thoroughly enjoy your blogs, devotionals and words of wisdom.

I am also a homeschooling mom so I am constantly looking for ways to organize my home, and ‘stuff’ that is always piling up. ha! :)

I couldn’t believe you mentioned that your son is going to be playing in a homeschool baseball tourney in Ft. Wayne…that is only about 45 minutes from where we live. What tournament is that? I’ve never heard of a homeschooling one…that is great!

Your words that you shared in the book, “why we speak” were totally a blessing to me. Thank you for your transparency and honesty. It totally blessed me and encouraged me in so many ways. Thank you! May God continue to bless you and guide you in all you do for His glory.

  2. I would love to join the study on getting organized. I’ve been praying about that. I’m not on Facebook (I did this to keep white space for my family and friends that I get to see). Is there another way to participate? Thanks!

  3. Praying for traveling and weather mercies for you and all the other families that will be traveling for this tournament.

Not on fb (but you already know that story) but am looking forward to reading your book in due season.

Since it is Wednesday I thought I’d share a victory: I made the decision to slowly transition from unhealthy snacks to healthier alternative ones. Last week it was from candy and cookies to fresh fruit like watermelon. This week it was from chips and cheese to baked tortilla chips and all natural salsa. And I am thankful to God to be able to say that it’s going well thus far and I am even enjoying the taste of the replacements. Thanks for your continual encouragement to me and so many others on this journey.

    Love ya, sis!

  4. Sitting here, in good ‘ole Fort Wayne, IN, I’m looking out the window, hearing the thunder, seeing the lightening, and hearing the occasional hail during rain showers. I will pray that the storms will stop and the fields clear enough for the tournament this weekend.

  5. Definitely want to get in on the short study – I’ll try to find the book somewhere and get it ordered.

Praying you have a SAFE and enjoyable, storm-free ‘vacation’ :)
