Karen, as I've spent time reading your blog this morning...can I just say I love your heart!!!!! What a beautiful reaction.

When I was a little girl, one day I took all the blooms off my dad's prized tulips to put in a dish to give to my mom who was in bed not well. When dad came home, instead of punishing me, he took me out for icecream. When questioned later he said he did it because I promised to never pick his flowers again without asking him.

I never forgot that lesson...or dad's reaction. Praying the Lord will give me grace, wisdom, understanding and patience in my parenting.

Thanks for all the blessings I've received this morning while visiting your blog.
Hugs,
Joy

Karen - I sent this along to Trudy and Terry (Scott's Mom) so they could read for themselves how apologetic you are and they will be glad to know that no children were harmed in this event...but that poor little tractor is going to have to work overtime!! Love reading your blogs...miss y'all!

From one home schooling mom to another....a constant reminder...kids, not lawns. (And that is why our house is tucked back way far in the woods so that no one can see. We would definitely have been kicked out of the neighborhood lawn society by now) ;) Coming to She Speaks next week and just visiting many of the blogs. :)

Yeah for you that you didn't trample your son in your reactions! How quickly and easily we can do that, huh? And the memory of the brown spot and tractor sprinkler will long give you a story to chuckle over...the Joneses won't. :) Thanks for sharing.

I live in Long Island, NY where maintaining your lawn is almost a contact sport. I feel you pain. At first I was going to suggest some green spray paint, but then thought better of it. A tiny voice suggested to me that perhaps that would be like painting over a sin in my life with a little white lie. It might look better but the "burnt patch" is still there. Better to re-seed it properly and let the truth grow through. Can't wait to meet you at the conference!
