not sure if I am to late for this give away but my first memory of a president in 1954 (I remember the year because we had just moved to Fl and I was in the 2nd grade) and Esinhower was on TV.

I think my first memory as a little kids was finding out that Ronald Reagan was an actor…and to me that was the funniest thing ever. I asked my Mom if he was just acting like a president or a real president.

My first memory about presidents in general was during the Nixon vs. McGovern election. I lived in a town where Nixon was quite popular, but my parents were rooting for McGovern. Although I don’t recall sharing that info when I was so young, I must have; because every morning when I got on the bus the entire load of children began to chant: “Nixon, Nixon, he’s our man; throw McGovern in the can” and some kids would throw paper wads at me, others would try to trip me as I walked by. The bus driver never tried to stop them. I was six years old.

My first memories of a president would be Richard Nixon, but I also remember seeing on TV at the anniversary of JFK’s death, they would always show the footage.

I learned about George Washington and Abe Lincoln in the early grades, plus I didn’t have to go to school on their birthdays which was great!! The first live President I remember hearing about was JFK….although technically he was probably dead because it was when he got shot….he died on my Dad’s birthday so it was always an easy date to remember.

My earliest memory was watching President Reagan on tv talking about the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion. I will never forget hearing that news.

My earliest memory was also in grade school.
Hearing the teachers talking, noticing the flag lowered
to half mast, but still not quite understanding what was going on.
Getting home and seeing my mom very upset.
It was then explained to my sisters and I that someone assatinated President Kennedy and he had passed away.
I remember it being a very strange and sad day.
