Well, today is all about celebrations.
Although we do up holidays big around our house, I want to take a second to encourage you to celebrate the everyday.
The joy of caring for a sweet, wiggly baby.
The warm feeling you get seeing a struggling child master a new skill.
The touch of a faithful friend’s hug.
A smile from a caring coworker.
The privilege of cooking for your middle-aged man or caring for your aging parent.
Purpose today to delight in the daily days of life.
Most of all, in our loving, delight-ful God!
And I’m hoping one of you delights in a basket-in-a-box full of simple delights from me!
For my contribution to today’s celebration, I am giving away a Winter White Basket centered on Psalm 51:7 “Wash me and I will be whiter than snow” It includes Skin Milk body wash, a white loofah, Winter White Citrus Bath & Body Works lotion, white lily linen and room sprays, white hot cocoa, a white mug and white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies. My daily pleasure is when I wake up and hear my husbands voice for the first time of the day…sometimes on the phone and sometimes in the living room. It is comforting, exciting, and loving all at the same time. *sigh*
You hav me smiling with your statement about the joy of caring for a sweet, wiggly baby. My mind goes bak to when my two nieces were infants and the first time I got to hold them. You also hav me tearing up with your statement about the touch of a faithful friend’s hug. I haven’t seen my three closest friends in several months and I look forward to seeing them again soon and recieving a hug from them.

Living in a place far away where there is no snow – I’m delighting in the beauty of the whiteness all around us right now! (Even though most people around here are pretty tired of it!!)

I’m in! I so would Love this `Winter White Basket`. I like the list you have of celebrations. Esp. `The privilege of cooking for your middle-aged man or caring for your aging parent`. My Father recently passed away (January 2010) and although I live over 6 hours from my mom I call her everyday and check in on her. We have grown so close, perhaps closer than my sibblings who live closer and take turns taking care of her. We were apart for so many many years, it’s only recently that we have been this close. My mom is my best friend! We have cried our hearts out, laughed til we wet our pants (LOL) and just talked Mother-Daughter.

My simple pleasure is to enjoy a cup of tea in a special mug that my Mom (rest in peace) gave me while curled up in a blanket that a friend’s grandmother knit for me looking out the window watching the birds and the trees sway in the breeze.
A simple pleasure I delight in is the sun on my face. Yesterday for the first time in a long time the sun was shining and I felt a little bit of Spring. I’m in.

I would so love this giveaway. I just started something new this year. I am leaving the Christmas tree up all year long. We just decorated it for Valentine’s Day with all the cards, notes, letters, and drawings from my husband and kids over the last 15 years. I wasn’t sure if my husband would like this, but he loved it. I plan to do this for our children’s birthdays, our anniversary, and all the other holidays coming up. I’m a snow bunny at heart because all the snow we’ve gotten here in the north-east this season hasn’t gotten me down a bit, so I’m lovin’ it all.
