Welcome to the 6th Day of Christmas Giveaway!! We’re half-way there!!
Each day, December 1-12th, I am featuring a fellow Proverbs 31 sister and an aspect of Christmas. You’ll get to know her and she, in turn, will offer a fabulous giveaway! Simply leave a comment on her post to be entered in the drawing.
And, one soon-to-be-very-giddy gal who comments on all 12 posts will win the GRAND PRIZE! You may comment on all posts until Monday, December 13th when the winners will be announced. (to see the grand prize and get caught up on the posts click here)
Now, here’s our sixth P31 gal……the fantabulous Amy Carroll !!!
In her own words……
Let’s see…a little about myself (that’s always a little daunting!). The goofiest things make me giggle. Just about anything makes me cry. I cry when I’m happy, sad, moved (even by Hallmark commercials) or in awe of something God has done.
I don’t think on my feet well. I get a joke a day late and think of the perfect come-back two weeks later. I love a soak in the tub, hot coffee on cold mornings, candles on my deck, a good story, funky jewelry, and anything that makes me laugh.
I’m married to Barry, the man that I still love madly after over 20 years. We’re both pretty strong-willed, but he makes me laugh every day!
My two boys, Anson and Nolan, are my delight. I’m simply astounded that I could be a mother of a two huge boys and that I’ve become one of those people who’s simply silly about her dog, a miniature dachshund named Hilde.
My work with Proverbs 31 Ministries is fueled by my passion for Jesus, and I love it!
As well as serving on the Speaker Team, Karen and I have launched a new branch of our ministry called Next Step Speaker Services. It’s designed to individually help other speakers sharpen their skills and marketing tools. You can get to know me better at www.amycarroll.org or more about the new service at www.nextstepspeakerservices.org.
I’m not much of a cook, but I have this recipe for Russian Tea that everyone looks forward to at Christmas. It’s yummy and has the added benefit of making your house smell terrific! I want to share it with you today:
Russian Tea:
1 gallon water
2 sticks cinnamon
3 whole cloves
6 oz. can frozen orange juice
6 oz. can frozen lemonade
2 cups sugar
3 small tea bags
Boil tea, cinnamon, cloves and water for 2 minutes. Remove tea bags, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Add sugar and juices (not diluted). Serve hot.
When we have guests over, I usually pour this from a large pot on the stove into a large coffee maker (the big silver kind) so that people can easily pour their own.
Amy’s Giveaway
Since I can’t ship Russian Tea to you
, I’ll send the winner of the drawing:
~A beautiful mug with chai tea mix and…
~A copy of my Christmas message, “With Us”.
~Also, if the winner turns out to be a speaker, I’ll give you a free ½ hour call to talk about tips from any of our services with Next Step Speaker Services that interest you.
Merry Christmas, friends! Don’t forget that JESUS is the gift!
Okay everyone….. to be entered into the drawing to win Amy’s giveaway, leave us a comment telling us your favorite wintery drink.
Mine is a decaf, skinny, peppermint mocha from Starbucks or my own homemade version of a steamy mug of Millstone Holiday Peppermint coffee with a splash of Land O’ Lakes low-fat half & half and a touch of Splenda or Stevia. Yum!!!!
Warm Blessings,

My favorite Christmastime drink is an Eggnog Latte! Can’t have very many of them because of the calories, but I sure do love them!
Peppermint hot chocolate – anyway, anywhere, anytime! The recipe for Russian tea sounds very good, too!
I like to toss some broken (it happens) candy canes into my coffee…the kids prefer them in their hot chocolate. It’s yummy. Pepperminty.
As long as the drink’s warm, and the family’s cozy, it’s Christmas.
Peppermint Mocha from our local coffee shop gets me in the Christmas spirit everytime! But if I am wanting something cold…I wait all year for Cook Out’s Egg Nog Milkshake! It is worth the wait!
Eggnog with Sprite….. OR Hot Chocolate with a scoop of vanilla ice cream … so yummy
I love eggnog anything and warm cider with s cinnamon stick, the russian tea sounds wonderful.
I’m not very original but my favorite winter drink is Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate hot cocoa mix. Just add hot water and yummmm!
I’m in!
Vernor’s Ginger Ale and Eggnog or Chai Tea are my favorite drinks.
My favorite is spiced cider!
My favoite is coffee. I love Starbucks coffee. I love to have coffee with my daughter-in-law coffee and conversation.
Well I typically only drink warm beverages in the fall/winter time, so they all are kind of ‘holiday’ or seasonal to me! I will definitely be trying this Russian tea out! I love green tea, coffee – love starbucks pumpkin spice latte or their caramel brûlée – but I don’t go there often. I also enjoy warm apple cider, or some hot chocolate!
Yum!
I’m a kid at heart, my go to winter drink is good, old fashioned hot chocolate! I do enjoy warm apple juice with red hots melted in it, too!
Pumpkin Spice Soy Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks
My favorite winter drink is a Mocha Caffe Latte(at least I think that is how you spell it).
I’m a chocolate girl so my favorite winter is hot chocolate. Last year at Christmas I decided to put a candy cane in my hot chocolate and it was good. I’ll also drink any type of hot tea.
I love hot chocolate! Merry Christmas!
My mom used to make a hot spiced tea mix that you could just stir into a mug of hot water. Now that my memory has been stirred, I need to ask her for that recipe. Thanks. I’m in.
Starbucks Caramel Apple Cider!YUM!!
I’ve just discovered the simple drink, but my favorite … with my morning coffee, I’ve always used French Vanilla creamer … but this year there is a Peppermint Mocha creamer that is fantastic! My 9 yr old daughter smelled it the 1st morning I used it and agreed to a sip … now she claims she’ll need 2 sips from my coffee every morning that I use it!
If I have to single something out, I will say gingerbread lattes…but I really like so many of the warm seasonal favorites to feel cozy and festive!
This one is easy for me- a grande pumpkin spice latte from anywhere!
My favorite drink is definitely an iced (yes, I know and I live in PA- but they seem to have more flavor than the hot drinks) Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks- yum yum! :0) Merry Christmas!
The tea sounds yummy! My favorite is French Vanilla Steamer from Starbucks!
My favorite Wintery Drink is Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate Sensation hot chocolate.. and around Christmas I will break up a candy cane and put it in my hot chocolate… YUMMY!
My favorite drink would be apple cider!
Hot chocolate.
My favorite wintery drink is vanilla chai. It’s my special treat each morning once I get to work. In fact…I’m enjoying some at this very moment!
I’m in.
My favorite drink this time of year is an english toffee coffee.
Frozen pepsi… all year long is my favorite drink. I tend to make it almost every night, sometimes switching off with root beer. I have an ice cream machine that does the drink in just a few minutes.
Personally, I think it’s difficult to find decaf Chai, but there’s a company in Sioux Falls that offers it and does fundraising. There site is
http://www.junglebeans.com.
I love a big mug of Mint Hot Chocolate with marshmellow cream!!!
YUM!
I didn’t even know you could order decaf skinny peppermint mochas! I gotta try that. My favorite drink is a decaf cinnamon dolce latte.
Mostly hot chocolate – I like the fancy white chocolate or other versions.
I also enjoy something called “wassail” that my Mom has made sometimes at Christmas. It is kind of like a spiced cider and sounds similar to Amy’s Russian Tea.
Mmmmm – Might need to get me a wintery type drink now!
Hot Chocolate
My favorite wintery drink is homemade hot chocolate.
One of my favorites is the Pumpkin Spice Latte (skinny of course) Want to try the Peppermint Mocha..
Merry Christmas!
Coffee with super skim milk.
Russian Tea sounds yummy. Gonna give it a try.
Hot Chocolate topped with whipped cream is my favorite wintery drink.
My favorite wintery drink would be Hot Chocolate topped off with some marshmallows.
Hot chocolate with one large marshmallow and sprinkles!!
Hot cider for me, yum!!!
Hot chocolate – really warm milk with Nesquick. The hot cocoa mixes are too watery in my opinion. I was raised on hot chocolate with Quik (what it used to be called) so this also says “mother’s love” to me.
I will be making some Russian Tea this year for sure! I love to make hot apple cider in the crock pot it makes the whole house smell good too!
Apple cider mixed w/cranberry juice and Aspen mulling spices, heated just till piping hot and served in a mug. MMMM!
I like the pumpkin spice, even at Christmas;)
I enjoy Spiced Cider as well but I think we will try the Russian Tea this year. Will make it for our Christmas Party next week, sounds yummy!
I’m in. I love a nice warm cup of hot chocolate — with marshmellows of course on a cold, snowy night.
Living in Indiana, we have a lot of those between thanksgiving and valentines.
I love Mexican hot chocolate. My husband grew up in Mexico and each house made their own variety of choclate that you would boil with milk and put in the blender and whirl up. That tastes like Chrismas to me. Fortunately you can buy it in grocery stores, try it.
I will definitely try your Russian Tea Recipe!
I like to make a powder mix called Spice Tea:
Spice Tea
1 cup instant tea
1 cup tang
1/2 lemonade mix (sweetend)
1/2 sugar
1t. cinnemon
1t. cloves (be sure to pick out when you fix so you don’t choke)
mix 3 heaping teaspoons in 1 coffee cup hot water, Enjoy!
When Thanksgiving approaches I can’t resist buying pumpkin spice coffee and then I transition to the Christmas coffees with all the seasonal liquid creamers (although I’m a black coffee drinker the other 10 months) I also love Stash’s seasonal Christmas teas–White Christmas, Merry Mint, and Christmas Eve. I also make homemade cappuccino mix, cocoa mix, friendship tea mix and spiced chai tea mix–wonderful gifts from the kitchen. My children like cranberry/apple spiced cider or any variation I use with other juices–grape, bluberry or cherry. But I would have to say that eggnog with lots of nutmeg flavor says “Christmas/New Year’s” to me.
I like spiced apple cider.
Hot chocolate (made with rice milk) and topped with whipped cream!
My favorite fall drink is my mom’s spiced cider, but my favorite Christmas drink by far is hot cocoa … any kind really, with some coffee creamer mixed in for extra creaminess
If I visit my daughter around Christmas we always get a Starbuck’s Peppermint Mocha. After reading previous comments, I’m definitely going to get some peppermint mocha creamer AND try Mexican hot chocolate.
My favorite holiday drink is spiced apple cider. I have the mulling spices ready to go and a big crockpot to steep it all together. If I can’t have spiced cider, I love Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee, black.
oh i love spiced apple cider. usually i buy it but this year i’m gonna try making it on my own. i hope it comes out the same.
your russian tea drink sounds wonderful. i think i’m gonna have to try that one too.

Right now I’m pouring down some bottled water to replenish!
my fav holiday drink is a tall skinny peppermint mocha from starbucks!
My favorite wintery drink is simply hot chocolate (I’m an easy gal to please)!
The Russian tea sounds good. I tried making my own pumpkin spice lattes this year – not bad for an experiment. And i really like the eggnog milkshake from Culvers!
Dunkin Donuts sells packages of Pumpkin Spice coffee during the holidays. It makes the house smell great as it brews! I add Splenda and fat free half and half! The best!
For sure chai tea from any coffee shop or homemade – what a wonderful aroma to fill the house!
Hot chocolate!
I loved hot spiced apple cider! Yum!

Hi there!
No savoring… just get it in!
This is really fun. Thanks!
My favorite holiday drink is hot chocolate. I love to wrap my hands around a warm mug and smell it before I drink it. Sweet, yummy goodness! Except in the morning. Then it’s coffee
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
My favorite holiday drink is hot chocolate with marshmallows, but my standby is coffee, although Panera Bread has a new peppermint espresso I’d like to try! I loved their pumpkin spice espresso…it was marvelous! I’d get a cup then go park by the lake on my lunch break and sip it. Wonderful!
If I’m in the mood for tea over coffee, which is not too often,
I love Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Green Tea. Nice to wind down with at night.
I love a non-fat, white chocolate mocha, with a shot of espresso from Starbucks… Just one of those rare treats that I indulge in on “special” days!
Love hot chocolate with or without peppermint.
My fave is a Christmas wassail that my MIL made a couple years ago. SO yummy!! I may have to attempt it myself this year.
Hot Cocoa with a kiss or two dropped in. Extra Chocolatly!
I normally would say any kind of latte but I’m currently pregnant and any type of coffee/sugary drink doesn not sound good
Soooo many favorites, tough to decide. My son makes an awesome mug of cocoa with evaporated milk, vanilla and cinnamon that powdered mixes can’t touch. When we want to get fancy we add a caramel or butterscotch syrup, too. Spice teas are another favorite and anything pumkin or gingerbread from Starbuck’s. Yum!!!
My favorite wintery drink is a caramel latte or any other hot drink with caramel flavoring. Thank you for the awesome giveaways. God bless and Merry Christmas!

I’m not a coffee drinker but I love my family’s recipe for “Tom and Jerry’s”-it’s been in my family for years! I drink mine w/o alcohol & have it only once a year @ our Christmas party. Rich and satisfying!
~Amy
I love Russian tea, too. But I make the dry kind you just add boiling water to whenever you want a cup! I think I’ll go make myself a cup now to make this sore throat feel better!
I’m In–yummm
My favorite winter drink is Starbucks Espresso Truffle — except that I don’t think they’re offering it this year. It was a cross between hot chocolate and coffee. Ummmmmm!
Edie
I’m in!
I enjoy lattes and Gevalia Vinter Spice coffee…
I love Vanilla Spice Chai tea! Basically anything that has French Vanilla or pumpkin spice I’m all over!
Hot Chocolate can’t be beat, but I also enjoy Spiced Cider and eggnog : )
Starbuck’s Caramel Apple Cider…yum!!
I love hot apple cider! The Russian tea sounds delish, I will definitely try it.
Hot chocolate! Yum!
Kim
Mine is simply – pour a mug of Apple Juice or Apple Cider – add a stick of cinnamon – put it in the microwave and heat to boiling. Drink – sometimes this is just what the doctor ordered and I can do it in a hurry when I need it.
My favorite wintery drink is my mom’s homemade Hot Chocolate with red hots in it and my mom’s homemade Hot Orange spice tea!! Yummo!! Going to have to go have some now!
Hot Apple Cider is a Christmas favorite for me!
