Giveaway with Lisa Boyd :-) (Also Known as The Tech Dudette)
MONDAY MORNING NOTE:I am going to need to ask for patience and grace from you all. I am still reading and praying through the She Speaks scholarship finalist’s entries that my panel of judges has chosen. I’m headed to Detroit for the day where part of the time I’ll be at a coffee shop finishing up this difficult task and then announcing the selection. Look for it between 1:00-2:00 pm EST.
In the mean time, make sure if you’d like to win a free website set-up package or cool laptop bag that you read the post below. I am extending that giveaway until Wednesday.
____________________________________________________
Could I ask you to pray for me this weekend? I’m headed to speak in Georgia alongside my fabulous and talented friend Cheri Keaggy.
I also, along with some of my P31 speaker team buddies, am still reading (and crying) through the entries for the Cecil Murphy speaker scholarship to She Speaks. You aren’t making this easy girls!!! Winner will be announced Monday.

Have we got a FABULOUS giveaway this weekend!!!! (Especially if you’ve ever dreamed of writing a blog and have simply no clue where to begin!)
Around Proverbs 31, we have many women who use their God-given talents to further His kingdom.
Some speak.
Some write.
Some work use their administrative gifts in the office.
Some pray with women on the phone or answer emails from those who are lonely, hurting and in need.
And some lend their expertise at all things techy.
Today the P31 Queen of techy is joining us with a seriously INCREDIBLE giveaway for one of you. Read on:
Lisa Boyd started her love affair with computers in the early 80s. Upon receiving a Commodore 64, she proceeded to sit down and read the manual cover to cover.
No longer reading printed manuals, she devours digital manuals instead. Clients rely on Lisa for all their technical needs including training them on software (computer-based or web-based) and recommending and implementing technical solutions tailored to their needs.
Since 2003, she’s been setting up and customizing sites using WordPress. Her business site is http://lisaboyd.com
She is a child of God who hates titles and all the preconceptions that come with those titles; a stay-at-home mom who takes her only daughter to public school; the tuneless wife of a man who sings boldly for God; a tech geek who has been accused of having an affair with her laptop; a home executive who doesn’t have a cooking or decorating bone in her body.
Her hospitality includes a big “hey ya’ll” at the door, lots of hugs, and a cold can of Coke. Most days you can find her in old softball t-shirts, hair scrunchies and no makeup or she might be out riding her Harley. Occasionally she blogs at simply His [http://simplyhis.org]
Lisa, how did you first become interested in techy-things like websites and such?
My Dad brought a Commodore 64 home one day in the early 80s. I was so fascinated with the machine, I sat down and read the manual cover to cover.
I wrote my first script that made a message repeat down the screen and then quit. There was no hard drive saving the script. No pretty graphics and such. My love affair with computers began.
I can’t remember exactly when I first got into websites and all things Internet related. I think it’s just become so integrated in my life, it’s hard to remember a time when I wasn’t on the internet.
In 2000, I got started with blogs learning Greymatter software. In 2003, I switched to WordPress and haven’t looked back. Of course I tend to get caught up in the code and how things are setup. Most of the time I forget to just sit and write!
Let’s say a woman out there is interested is beginning a blog but has no clue where to start. What advice would you give her?
If you are not sure you are going to stick with this blogging thing or want to test it out before you put a little money behind it, I recommend setting up a free blog at WordPress.com. You’ll get a url that looks like yourname.wordpress.com and it’s a good place to start.
You can get used to using the WordPress software and when you are ready for more, you can get a hosting package.WordPress can do much more than just blogging – it can control your whole website.
You can change text around without having to know html (html is the code that makes a website display in your browser all pretty). It gives you a great foundation to build your website should you want to add things later, like a contact form or a forum.
When you are ready for more customization and ready to grow, you can get a hosting account for about $5/month, free WordPress.org software, and a custom domain name for about $10/year.
Here around Proverbs 31, you are known as the Tech Dudette. What are the main ways you help people with their cyber needs?
I do all my work based on WordPress. I help people transfer all their posts and comments from Blogger into WordPress. I also develop custom themes.
Themes are the files that make WordPress display your site the way you want it – 1 sidebar over here, content there, custom header graphic at the top, special header graphics in the sidebar, etc.
There are several things that you may want to tie into your WordPress site as well. I help set those things up as well from setting up a subscription box for people to subscribe to your updates, to adding a Facebook updates box in the sidebar. I also help setup forums, directories, and shopping carts so you can sell things through your site.
You are offering two wonderful giveaways to our cyber sisters out there. Tell us about them!
For first place, I’m giving away a hosting package.
I’ll register a domain name for you (if available) or use one you have now. I’ll host your web site for 1 year and get you setup with a basic WordPress install so you can play around with the awesomeness that is WordPress.
I’ll also provide you with a copy of Genesis + Prose. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that means right now. It’s a really cool premium theme package that will allow you to change colors, fonts and sizes as well as other customizations.
The value of all this is about $250.
As a second prize, I’m giving away a laptop bag [http://www.shopgussy.com/category/laptop-work-bags] from one of my clients[http://www.gussysews.com/].
Last year I virtually met Gussy as we were going to be roommates at a blogging conference for women. I didn’t make it to the conference, but we kept in touch and Gussy is now one of my clients!
Wow Lisa!!! Thanks so much for the generous prizes!!!
Okay gals, if you’d like to have your name thrown into the hat for either one of these prizes, leave a comment on this post. Let us know why you’d like the hosting package or the laptop bag. If time is tight, simply say I’m in. (But please let us know which prize you are interested in.)
Oh, and if you have never blogged and want to get started, tell us, what would your blog be about?
Have a great weekend. See you back here on Monday when I’ll have lots of winners to announce!
Blessings,

What a great give-a-way. My family and I serve overseas and I have a blogspot blog to share with friends and family what we do on a daily/weekly basis and what God is doing in our ministry. I have wanted to switch to wordpress from some time and would LOVE to have some help:)
I am in! I would love the hosting package! I’ve been wanting to begin a new domain – incorporating His truth and nutrion/healthy living/cooking, etc..
I’d love to win the hosting package prize. I’d like to take my blog “up a notch” (and know I’ll need some techy help!) Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I’m in. I would be interested in the hosting package.
I would love the hosting package. I have started a blog but it isn’t as easy as I thought. There are aot of codes you need to know, and you must put them in the right spot or it doesn’t work. It can be overwhelming. I enjoy blogging but all the stuff with the sight isn’t that fun. I just want a button that I can choose the lettering instead of codes.
I began blogging in January this year, after having the account opened for almost a year.
It’s a Spanish blog for women who love God and want to live their lives the way He designed. So far it’s been great! I love the feedback they give me through email, the comments and Facebook, specially Facebook, ha! ha! For the first time in my life I get that incredible sensation of doing something I was created to do. And as long as at least one life is touched for His glory every time I write something, I’m a happy blogger.
I’m using Blogger because it’s quite simple but I know that WordPress would spice things up a lot.
Thanks for the great giveaway!!Both of them.
Would love to win this prize – and give it away to a friend who is pursuing a writing career. It would be a great start to get her message and topics out into the cyber-world.
Karen and Lisa,
I’m in! I have blogged off and on now for several years about my life’s experiences, but wish I knew more about how to make things look more attractive.
God has impressed on my heart that each of us have a story and that I need to share mine with women who are walking in similar paths as myself. My background has quite a heap of ashes that I want to turn into beauty for Christ’s sake.
If you have time and you desire, please check me out:

Thank you for giving away this awesome opportunity!
Blessings!
Barb
I’m in, I just started a blog but would love to have the hosting package. Thanks for the opportunity and God bless!
Pingback: Welcome and checking in — Lisa Boyd
I just started a free blog and would love the hosting package! My blog is heart for treasures. So many people face tough situations and mine would be a “heart lifter” site with encouragement, through experience and scripture. I also love being crafty and creative. It is what lifts my heart so I would share ideas of things to do for your kids, family and frinds. Get rid ofthe negative and bring on a positive heart lifting blog!
I’ve been blogging on my Caring Bridge site for 5 years…my final entry was three days ago. I’m ready to stop blogging about my health updates now that that journey has come to an end (Praise God!), and to begin a new blog about encouraging women through pain and suffering. (Caring Bridge has been an amazing tool to keep family and friends updated and I am so grateful for that website!) I’m just ready for the next chapter in my life to begin!
Would LOVE a new makeover for my blog and have always wanted to try Word Press. The laptop bag wouldn’t be bad either! Thank you for this give away!
I would be interested in either prize. I have a blog, but I feel like I am limited by the free site I’m using through google. I’d like to do more with my blog as far as the font and the design, but haven’t been able to justifiy the cost of a “real” site. I’m also a closet tech geek and love to play around with technology.
The laptop bag would come in handy since my husband just bought me my very own laptop to do all my writing on. For now I’m just putting it in a large tote. I would really feel professional with a laptop bag!
Thanks for the opportunity
Josey
I’m not into blogging but I would really love the laptop bag. I’m into photography and am thinking about a new laptop so I can play with my photos and give my hubby’s laptop back to him!
I <3 Gussy. I would love to win a laptop bag!
I would love to make my blog better. I would love to be able to change the size, color, etc. of the fonts with the click of a button instead of code.
I am already blogging. I have three blogs, and one is WordPress. So I am experienced in blogging in and of itself. However, I am still struggling with WordPress. I know it is wonderful, and I am happy with my blog at this point, but have not had the time, and really do not have the talent, to develop my site as I would like to. I cannot get the ‘widgets’ to appear as I would like them to, and I am not sure about the publishing, is it really getting out there, and what do I need to do? I love the LORD, and it is He I write about, and the impact He makes on my life and the life of others. I wish to one day be a speaker to women as well, but I know I need to be established publicly, and view the blogs as the best way to do that at this time. I would love the hosting package, because I really want to learn, and once I understand how to do something on the computer, then I can usually move forward on my own. I just need direction! Thank you for this awesome opportunity. I love to mentor, and love that you are doing that as well! Blessings to you!
I’m all about winning a Gussy bag! Always trying to keep my life a little more organized.
I would love the blog package! I am planning to start a blog about a new project I’m working on to help women be set free from the pain of abortion. I would also love to focus on helping women overcome the lies of the enemy regarding their pasts! Thanks for this contest!
I currently have a blog but I have been wanting to figure out how to have one that ends with .com, though wordpress. I would love this opportunity to work on what I have been dreaming about!
I would love the hosting package. I’ve wanted to start a new blog reviewing “kid lit” (and youth/young adult) from a Christian worldview, but don’t have the $ to get the domain & such started. This would help TREMENDOUSLY.
I had to laugh, we had a commodore 64 and I used to sit for hours and program it.
I’m in for prize #2 because I have a new laptop and no bag so have been resorting to a duffle bag
Blessings,
Mel
Please feel free to stop by: Trailing After God
I would love the laptop bag. I have been starting to do some writing so it would be a great tool to keep everything together.
I would love the hosting package to really get my blog up and going the way I would like!
I would like to be in for the blog. I think if would be fun to blog about my experiences asa 32 y.o. who is in Nursing School!
Hello, great prizes today really hard to choose just 1 but I would love to EIN the laptop bag. My “mobile” office is
My car and this would be very helpful as I am all over town daily. I trying to ne consistany with my blogging.
Thanks good luck everyone
And many Blessings to all
I am in!! I would love the hosting package. I have always wanted to blog about life as a member of the Squashed Sandwich Generation – but I did not know how to get started. Thanks for the opportunity!
This is an incredible give away!!! I’d love the hosting package!
I have a site with a blog set up if you want to use it.http://memphistexascrimewatchprogram.blogspot.com/
I have been hoping to start a blog again soon! I have one now, where I give updates on my kids and such for out of state family (which is everyone). It is way behind since the birth of our 3rd child.
But I’ve been pressed upon to start a blog to talk to women about all the many aspects of our lives, from what to wear to be modest, to what we feed our kids, how to help a baby sleep thru the night, to how to have a healthy sex life—and all of this based on what God says! I am not afraid of the controversial topics, in face I LOVE digging deep into them! Yay for this giveaway!
I would also love the opportunity to advertise for my friends who are WAHMs and/or make some kind of craft/item, so that there is ONE place to go to get these things. I’m not skilled in the area of sewing/crafting/etc….but so many of my friends are and I want to help them get advertised!
I am a newbie to the blogging world. Not quite ready to invest fully due to time constraints (work, kids, messy kitchen). But I would love the laptop bag! Much needed since I’m on the go so much. I can carry it with me and do some writing while we wait for the doctor, oil change, and kindergarten dismissal. Thanks!!
Oh my, that’s an AMAZING giveaway! The hosting package would be an answer to my prayers right now!
I would LOVE to win the hosting package! I’m a devoted child of God, military wife, full time graduate student, soon-to-be homeschooling mom with ADHD! What DON’T I have to talk about?! I would LOVE to have an outlet to spew all of the ramblings going on in my head. I am starting the homeschooling journey beginning next school year and I think my lessons that I learn along the way could really benefit a lot of mom’s out there. Especially those that are not the “typical” homeschooling moms. I am not Mrs. Cleaver. My life is busy, chaotic, spontanious and fun…messy, not cookie cutter neat! God has laid this so heavily on my heart that I can’t ignore it anymore! Needless to say, it’s going to be an experience…I’d love to share it with everyone!
I think
I pray
I write
I edit
I erase, delete and omit.
I pray some more
And I write again
But what I need to do is:
Think
Pray
Blog.
No need to edit.
Because I have WordPress
I would love either one. I have my own laptop and would love a new bag for it. I also have a blog that I don’t update near enough because I started to find it frustrating to change things around that I didn’t like. I would love to get a new one set up and start to blog regularly. These are great prizes and will be a blessing to anyone who wins them.
Hi! Thanks i’ve been thinking about starting a blog that discusses things in the Bible that we so often have questions about but never ask aloud… I talked to my pastor and he said go for it, but I am afraid…I really want to be able to use it for discipleship opportunities…but need to know more of the ins and outs…
Thanks!
I would love the hosting package. I am new to blogging, websites and such. I am a pastor’s wife and have such a heart for sharing Jesus with others. We have been serving at a small “country” church about 3 hours away from my family and most of our friends for 4 years now. I am a stay at home mom with both 4 and 6 years old boys so I have time to work on blogging. I have journaled for most of life in response to some pretty tramatic experiences as a child and love to write. God has given me a heart for sharing my experiences raising my 4 year old probably autistic son and a hosting package would help that happen.
God bless you and your ministry.
I love blogging and I would love to have the hosting package to upgrade and make make my current Mommy Diaries blog much more appealing to other mommies! Thanks so much!
I am in–but boy would I ever need help!!
I would love to win the hosting package. Right now I am not clear on subject matter for my blog, still praying about that. I do know it will be God honoring. Thank you for the opportunity to get set up…
Have a blessed day.
I would LOVE to start a blog!!! Please add my name. And after reading this post, I had fond memories of typing my name in different colors, adding a little heart, and having it run continusously in a zig-zaggy pattern all over the screen of the Commodore 64 at my very first job!!!
I would be humbly honored to be given the opportunity to have a blog. MAny of my colleagues and friends continue to share with me and urge me to start a blog…I have been dreaming and praying about it a great deal. God has led me this morning to you…God does work in amazing ways. If His will is for me to get a blog going in this fashion, then I say “praise be to God & thank you Karen & Lisa!! I have been through trials and tribulations like most women, I love to write and share my heart and I am open to God’s desires for me…sharing how my faith has been strengthened and blessings pour out as I continue to seek God at through joys. Hope, love, peace and joy in Jesus, Beth
I currently do not have a blog, however, I’ve always wanted to write daily devotions. I have a notebook that is currently filled because I have no “tech ability” whatsoever!
This would be a blessing to have the start that I’ve always wanted. Thank you for the opportunity and God Bless!
I’m in! I’m in the beginning phase of starting a cake decorating business and keep putting off starting a blog. Would love some help! Thank you!
I would love to start a blog. I have been praying for an awesome chance like this to reach out to more ladies in our rural area for God to use me for a daily relationship with our amazing God!
I would love to win the hosting package for my blog
Hi Karen,
Tha laptop bag sounds great and to win it sounds even more cool!!
God bless
I would like to win the hosting Package, I have never blogged before but I think it would be a great way to relay how God is currently working in my life. I would possibly write about the things our family is presently dealing with and overcoming with God ! Things that most christian families can relate to in our relationships with God and each other. Thanks
I would feel blessed to receive the blog package. My mind is blank with the words that are screaming coming from my heart to be heard.
I am in! Thank you!
God Bless
I am a stroke victim and 46 years old. I used to teach prescool, write for a website, be on the radio and write for a magazine. I have also gone to ministry school. That was before my stroke. It’s been 2 years now and there aren’t many careers for me out there. I have decided to write and see what comes of it? To help me out, a friend from high school is also doing a blog with me. I am starting to write and organize my thoughts. The blogging package would be an awesome gift! I have gone through so much and feel I could share with so many. Thank you for considering me for this opportunity! Blessings of peace.
HI…my name is Lisa and we recently lost over 2/3′s of our income, BAM…no warning. We are in desperate need of earning some of that income back. And since I am a stay at home mom, who is raising three small children (the loves of my life) and don’t want to have them in daycare. I am frantically searching for a way to earn income from home. I would LOVE to win the hosting/blog package. I have wanted to get one set up. I make goat milk soap and would love to incorporate that into this blog somehow. But have no idea how. Thanks for listening! Lisa
I would love the hosting package. I have a weekly blog which I started last summer as part of a small writing ministry which focuses on messages of faith, family and wellness. Being a complete newbie, I started it on blogspot. As I am learning more about blogging and reading Michael Hyatt’s blog, I’ve learned that a hosted version of wordpress is a better option for long term serious usage. I’m interested in switching to wordpress, especially a hosted edition, but it is really over my head and I don’t have the funds to hire someone to assist.
Thank you and Proverbs 31 Ministries for reaching out to others and offering assistance to those in need. It is much appreciated. Best of luck to everyone who enters.
I would love to win the hosting package. I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now and just didn’t know where to get started. I am a mother of 5 children and a military wife and veteran too so we lead a very interesting life. God has richly blessed me and my family especially though deployment and all the issues that it can cause. I would love to share what I have learned since becoming an military wife and mother with others too.
I’m in! I would love the hosting package. God laid it on my heart last year to start a blog, so I can share the message He’s given me through all my life experiences. Besides the whole fear-of-writing-for-everyone-to-see thing, I have NO idea how to set up a blog, besides a free one on Blogger. I’d love some help to get going!
I would looooove to win the blog hosting package. I started to write a blog back in November. And have only posted 3 posts since then! I think I would post alot more and be able to encourage alot more people if it didn’t seem so overwhelming to me.
The name of the blog is “He did it Again!” and it will be a testimony spot for all the ways God delivered and provided for our family (and others) throughout the years… A way to show people how God has always been faithful to hear our prayers and answer them in the past as a way to encourage them to remember that He is faithful to continue to do so for them in the future.
Thank you for the opportunity to be able to bless others.
I started blogging back in 2006 when I first gave my life to Christ. As a convert from Islam; blogging was the safest way for me to anonymously talk about my journey with Christ and connect with believers all around the world. It has also been a wonderful tool in recording the material for a book I am being called to write at some point in the future.
I have always loved wordpress. I had a friend who did some css customization for me as a gift some years ago and I really loved how “at home” I felt at my blog. I could not keep up with the cost of CSS though so had to go back to using the free version of wordpress.
Now that I am in a season of sharing my faith and testimony more openly and boldly; I have the desire to take my blog to another level. However, I am not very tech savvy and would love the help of a professional to give it that professional touch.
I actually would not mind either prize
My husband recently bought me a small netbook laptop since I am a grad student and have needed a traveling computer and as well as for times where I want to get away to write. I have yet to get an actual laptop bag to put it in and Gussy makes some gorgeous bags!
Blessings to you both!
I am game? I have been sharing alot of myself on all types of different sites online. I should just stick to one site for all my Blog Postings? But, I don’t. I think this is a great idea, for someone like me.
I’m in for either prize! They both sound great.
For the past year I’ve been thinking about writing a blog. But I just don’t know where to start. I’m fearful to just step out there and do it. I’m a wife, mother of 2 girls and work full-time. My blog would probably be about all the random thoughts going on inside my head from day to day. My best friend from high school contacted me just yesterday. We’ve kept in touch through the years, but have somewhat gone our separate ways because of lifestyle and the busyness of our lives. She’s not a Christian and I’ve prayed that God would use me in some way to get His message to her. She emailed me yesterday and asked if I would consider getting together with her and writing a book. Maybe writing a blog together would be a good place to start. Thank you Proverbs 31 for all the encouragement I receive from you everyday!
I would blog about about living a Godly life, insurance topics, the importance of making good decisions, and current events.
Oh, I would VERY much like to win the Hosting package, although I have to admit I am so very un-techy that I’m not sure what that means. I do know I’ve often thought I’d love to have my own webpage as opposed to being on blogspot (which has been good for me, but I’d like to step it up a bit.)
I had to get help simply to add the “Email option” to my current page…so yes, I’d really like to win!

Hi there,
I am new to blogging. I wanted to blog to show others how God is helping me through my weight loss journey. I am blogging as I go and definitely haven’t reached my goal. I write about my failures and successes and how God uses those things in my life to bring me closer to Him. I believe that God can use what I am going through and what I have been through to help others. I hope so!
Oh I’d love to win a laptop bag….I’ve been searching for so long for a pretty one and most places offer just plain black boring ones. Gussy’s are beautiful!!
I started a free blog on WordPress in January but I really am struggling with how to make it work for me. I am not a very techy person but very visually oriented, so hence my frustration when I can’t “see” how things work! I have a desire to write and speak to women who live with alcoholics. I created this blog so I can encourage women. I know God has called me to write and speak and believe that my blog is a great start. I am thrilled to have a chance to win the hosting package! Thank you for this opportunity!
I would love to win the hosting package! I have thought about starting a blog for a while, but like others, didn’t know where/how to start one.
I am a wife and a Mom to 4 children, and now 1 grandson, and I am now pursuing a college degree at almost 40 years old.
I would love to blog to share with others what I have learned through life experiences, and what I am still learning along the way.
If I do one, I would like to have different topics on different days each week, and post at least 3 days a week (maybe daily?).
Topics may be What I’m reading now, or what I’m learning right now, or marriage/parenting stuff, cooking, etc… I haven’t decided for sure yet, but those are the ideas I’ve been tossing around.
Thank you!
I am in. I would love to win the hosting package.I have wanted to start a blog because I love to encourage others and thought this would be a great way.
I am in. I would love the hosting package. I have never blogged but will be setting up a site about Fitness and also have Christ based encoragements as well
It’s so wonderful to watch our Father, the Equipper of All Things Needed for this Earthly Journey, work in and through our lives as He molds and shapes us in order that we can be used for His glory. Like Beth Howland’s comment left a bit before mine, my journey has been filled with numerous life experiences, including the God-orchestrated adoption of our first child over 21 years ago. Adam was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3, does not have expressive language but plays the piano better than me and is one of my chief teachers regarding unconditional love. My soulmate of 33 years, Larry, suffered a spontaneous carotid artery dissection in September 2010 and has experienced a full and miraculous recovery. I chronicled Larry’s healing in a Note posted to Facebook and many people have encouraged me to write a blog. I would be humbly honored to win the blog package; the Holy Spirit has been nudging me since the beginning of the year that God is preparing the way for me to encourage others, particularly women, through my experiences. I’m currently praying about my blogspot being titled “Heartstrings to Heaven”. “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.” (II Samuel 22:33)
After almost two years, I’ve been trying to figure out how to take my blog to the “next level” and this would be a great way to do just that! I’ve drooled over Lisa’s work and even asked her to help me at She Speaks this year – ha ha! Winning this would be great, but just getting to see & learn from all you P31 gals again at SS this year will be a huge prize!
WOW! How wonderful it would be to win this hosting package! I have a blog set up at wordpress but it sure “isn’t much to look at right now” (as the saying goes). This is something I really want to learn so that I can present a more appealing blog.
The last time I won anything I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now 25), so I think it’s about time for me to put myself out there and try to win something else – LOL
Thank you so much for offering this opportunity. Whether I win or not, I’m just glad to have been given the chance. What a wonderful way for you to share the gifts that God has given you
I am a almost-40 year old mom of 3. I am new to blogging. Started with WordPress, and then about a month ago decided to pop over and try weebly because I was frustrated, and NOT a computer-ish person. I make jewelry, knit goods, sew things, and like to sell them to support my habbit. I now have a website thathosts my 2 blogs – one crafty with a hint of God, one from God with a hint of craft, and my store. I would love to return to WordPress as I think they have a far better community. I am interested in winning the first prize with help on my website.
I would love to win the hosting package, I’ve never blogged but have enjoyed writing in some form or another for most of my life. I’ve been interested in blogging for a while now and like your post said, sometimes it’s in us we just don’t know where to start. Thanks and God bless!
Hi, I would love to be involved in this project!! I am a 35 year old wife, mother of 3, and I am loving every minute of it. We live in Canada and home educate our children, grades 5,2 and 1 respectively. I also provide childcare and teach english to 2 boys who only speak Chinese in their home. We have 2 golden retrievers who provide much entertainment in our household. I am very involved in different ministries in our church, and we are so blessed to live right next door to our church. I have wanted to start a blog for a while now and just was always waiting for the “right time.” My blog would be a synopsis of the daily life of a homeschool family, but would appeal to many more. With encouragement in Christian parenting, women’s ministries, cooking, frugal living, dogs, the advantages of scheduling your time, health issues (my one child is diabetic on an insulin pump, and another of mine has a blood disorder and runs the risk of having a blood transfusion any time he gets a virus), and many more topics!!! I would love this opportunity and also love to read the other comments on here. Whomever you choose, I think you will have a real winner. Blessings!!
I would love to begin blogging as it has been on my mind to it for about 2 years. We move a lot based on my husband’s employment and I think I have some insight to share on moving so much, living in all 4 time zones (!), transitioning children and family to a new location, and all the other things that go along with moving. All with premise that God is with you and your family wherever you live. I would LOVE this opportunity to learn from you all. Thanks so much!
I would loove the hosting/blog package. I have been praying about starting a blog again. It would focus on God’s plan of Redemption and how He has worked in our lives as we’ve followed him down the road of adopting kids out of foster care, the miracle of bio babies, and now the joy of becoming a grandma earlier than I expected. How my life and story is a part of God’s bigger story.
BTW I am new to this site, but the first post I read was about scripture memorization and I really appreciated your wisdom and honesty!
Oh my word, I would love, love, love to win the hosting package! I have been scouring the internet for about a week to learn how to set up a blog and I am so confused!!! With help, I have no doubt I could do this. I really want to blog about Christian woman who deal with anxiety. There are so many people who deal with anxiety and not a lot talk about it. When I was going through anxiety, I felt so alone. I do not want anyone to feel this way. So, I want to blog about hope and healing and life!! Thanks…
I’m in!
And I would love either prize, but I’ll go for the laptop bag! Thanks!
I am interested in the blog package. I’ve not blogged, but have felt called to it for the past year or so, just not sure where to start. I’m a 40 yr old mom of 2. DD #1, 9 yrs old, was well planned and DD #2 was a complete suprise and unexpected. I’m guessing my blog would focus on being an army wife, entering the tween years and 2nd mommy-hood, and quilting and the role of God in all of this.
I’m a 46 year old mother of 3 grown children, 1 granddaughter and another grandchild on the way. My life has been filled with “You aren’t going to believe THIS!” moments; some very difficult and some glorious. However, all of them have been touched by God’s hand and have shown a directional path for my life. I’m still trying to figure out where God is leading me but feel it is in some sort of women’s ministry area. It may be blogging, speaking or leading. I’m excited and anxious to see what God has planned!
I would love the hosting package! I have a blog but cant figure it all out, I just love writing it!
Please enter me! Thanks!
I work 3 part-time jobs and have other interests I haven’t really tapped yet, so you could say I’m entreprenurial. I still consider myself a “stay at home mom” because I do all my work when my kids are at school or asleep, so I am there for them before and after school. I have wanted to start blogging/or have a website for a LONG time to encourage other moms who wish they could be home with their kids, but who don’t think they can afford to be. I believe every mom CAN afford to be at home if they follow their passions, develop their own unique gifts and have an entreprenurial spirit. It takes encouragement, so that’s what my site would be about ~ encouraging moms to pursue their own dreams while spending more time with their kids, and feeling better about BOTH!
I’m in for the hosting package! I simply love turning life’s everyday challenges, blessings, and odd occurences into stories for all to enjoy! I’m a single mom, who works for a crisis pregnancy center and have found that life’s stories are usually the ones that resinate best with the people in my life. I have felt God leading me to start a blog and ministry called ‘The Beautiful Mess’ because some where along my journey God began turning my mess into beauty and really in all our journies we all bring our messes to God and He adds the Beautiful!! Blessings Abounding to all the contestants!!
Hi!
I would love the first prize, but would be grateful for either! I am a 29 year old wife and stay at home mom of 3 girls. I am also a hairstylist who works out of my home. My business is called “Crown of Beauty” based on Isaiah 61:3…”to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes..” I started blogging a couple years…I have recently revamped my blog on blogger and renamed it to “For the Sake of a Greater YES”. It has basically become a journal/catalog of all the things God is doing in my life and the amazing journeys He is taking me on. I was editor of my journalism class in high school and college (for a short time)and used to write constantly. With life’s craziness and marriage and 3 kids later, I got out of the habit of writing. Lately God has kind of ignited my passion for writing again. I am not the most technically savvy person, and not but it is a dream of mine to have a blog someday that several people can read…and only because my heart is for other people to see God’s greatness through my weaknesses!
Thanks for this awesome opportunity! Even if it’s just for fun, you are welcome to check out my blog. http://www.jpatin3@blogspot.com
Hugs and blessings,
Jen
Would love to try my hand at blogging! Never blogged but have often considered such! I am a Christ-Follower in my mid 50′s who has grown a lot in the Lord thru out the years. My husband and I are “partial” empty-nesters, grandparent’s, still working full-time and enjoying each day that the good Lord has provided us, all the while dealing with the changes of getting older. My husband is very close to retirement!!! I am also not understanding but trying to understand some of the “new” things the younger generation understand very well! I deal with a lot of laughter from my kids and grandkids due to my trying to understand things! Haven’t I been there and heard this before with another generation called “my parents”. Does this just scream, technically and brain challenged to you!!! Hope each and everyone has a great weekend! Looking forward to Spring here in the Midwest! Thank you for the opportunity to be considered!
HEY! I would love the blog package, I’m a single 51 year old woman with WAY too much time on my hands and More LOVE than I know what to do with! I have been on disability for almost 2 years, and I am basically on Facebook (which my youngest son) set up for me. I don’t even know how blogging works, I have one friend who blogs and I read hers regularly. I have in the past 6 months been seeking and finding God, with ALL my HEART and MIND and SOUL and STRENGTH and I, like others, have many life experiences in which God has led me away from myself and into His green pastures. Away from the world and into His love is mostly what I would blog about. Sadly I must confess that the majority of my life I have turned away from God and found what is there….NOTHING! I have found EVERYTHING in Him! I have 3 sons, was married 20 years and have been divorced for 14 years. My ex has since passed on and thanks to our sons we are certain he is in heaven! My youngest is a missionary in Milwaukee,WI my oldest lives in Iowa far from family but near in Spirit, his wife left him before 2 years of marriage…through that he has had the lie of Satan lifted that he had been walking with God, he now loves the homeless and reaches out to them with God’s love. My middle son is in and out of institutions and hospitals and group homes, he is diagnosed as borderline schizophrenic, That is a story in itself, much heartache and little joy, for he is my son and I cannot help him…Anyway thanks for listening and maybe, just maybe this could open a door in my life that is unknown to me. In Christ’s love, Diane
I’m definitely in; I’m a “writer” and currently studying at the Institute of Children’s Literature in order to get my advanced degree there. My number one goal being to influence the younger generations for Him in hopes of building up the Kingdom of Christ. I want everything I write to God inspired and heart desired. The Hosting package would be amazing for me to be able to chronicle about my writing journey.
Thanks for this opportunity, <3 Ashley
I would love to win either prize. I’ve been wanting to start a blog, but have no idea how to begin. Also, as my husband and I just recently started a business and are in the process of getting a laptop, the laptop bag would be something we could also use. Thank you for the chance to win of these great prizes. God bless!

Oh I would so so love the the opportunity to win the first prize. I have been considering a blog for quite some time, but have been intimidated about how to get it started. I would love to blog about my daughter. She is ill and I want to tell people how God is working in our lives. I also love to write. I haven’t any training, but I used to love to craft letters and what not, just loving words in general. It has been so long, but since we have been so limited in what we can now do as a family I am looking for an outlet of sorts. I am fascinated by the creativity and the eloquence so many incredible women share. I don’t think that any life has to be particular extraordinary, I find the blogs highlight how wonderful and meaningful every day life truly is. Count me in, pretty please.
I would love a chance to win the hosting package. I have just recently started blogging, and I would love to be able to transform my blog appearance into something that reflects more of my own personality.
I would ADORE the hosting package! I want to start a money-saving blog that is Christ-centered. I live in New England (Yes, I’m one of the FROZEN CHOSEN:) and there are very few that specifically pertain to this area of the country! THRIFTY ME…is what I’m hoping for!
Thanks for your time~
Mary
Lisa, your bio is awesome!
My bio? I am first and foremost a follower of Christ. I am also a homemaker and have been married to my wonderful, comedic first husband (I call him that to keep him in line! :O)) for almost 20 years. He is also a vocalist for Christ whereas I cannot carry a tune in a buck… well, you know. My three blessings have been home-schooled as I felt God’s leading in that area. In my BC years (before children), I was able to attend college for over four years majoring in switching majors. I still think that when I grow up, I can make a difference in the world for Christ’s sake. I have already made a little dent by raising my three wonderful children in the ways of Christ. My oldest daughter is married (they have one dog and one cat) and attends a Christian college; my middle child wants to be a housewife, so she is presently a nanny. My boy is sixteen and just purchased his first vehicle ~ a red jeep with a removable soft top – yikes!
It is so exciting to think that lil’ ole me could have the means to encourage so many folks throughout the world; therefore, I would seriously love to be the recipient of your hosting package. God’s will be done!
In His Hands,
Tanya
I’m relatively new to this blog thing… I’ve had a blog (sort of) on easysite.com and just recently moved it all to blogspot.com. It desperately needs a make over… I want to share this incredible journey with Him… The ride is amazing!!! Thank you for the opportunity!!! God Bless!
I would love to start a blog and have been thinking about it for a while!! It would be photography and life experiences…
Thanks,
Susanna
I would love the hosting package. After reading some of the other posts though, I don’t feel I would deserve to win it. I do not have a blog but am drawn to writing. I would love to write about the growing process God is taking me through now. He has impressed me to write about it but I don’t know if it is for a book or just something for my own record.
I would consider a blog change over if I can have it similar to what I have now on blogger. It might be a nice change.
I’m in!
I am disappointed this is a “throw your name in the hat” giveaway because I am desperate for Lisa’s help, and I’m one of those “never win anything” girls. I’m in for the hosting package, but what I really need is a coaching package to help me manage the blog my 27-yr old son set up for me using Word Press tutorials in early Jan. He walked me through some very basic training about blogging and I published my first post on Jan. 9th. fully expecting my readers to be family, friends, & my community group from church.
I have been absolutely blown away, actually kind of panic-stricken at times, by the reach of the blogosphere – this is one huge mission field with amazing possibilities for influencing others for the Kingdom. I just checked the counter on my “Claim God’s Best” blog … in only 2 months & 9 days, I have had 6,008 hits on my blog. I have had comments from Poland, Romania, England, Germany, India … some just grateful they came across my blog, or that someone recommended it to them, some passing along “kudos” or compliments about the content, what they relate to on the posts; others that suggest things I should do, like make money using Ad sense or create a Facebook fan page or put a Donate button on my site. Some ask me to guest post on their blog or to trackback to their site, and some make comments about the technical side of things – like the RSS feed is hard to find, or images load slowly, or they want to know what theme I’m using because they want to use it for their business site. I even had some obscene comments posted – great material for a blog post about how good things can be used for evil, but that was part of the learning curve – I now have to approve all comments before they’re posted to the blog. I have been overwhelmed with the power and reach of blogging, but I definitely need to find someone to help me manage my blog, teach me so much I don’t know, learn when to respond or act on some of these comments, understand how to maximize the full power of Word Press features. I need Next Step Blogging Services, seriously! If you take the time to read all of these instead of just tossing entries in a hat for random drawing, would you please have Lisa email me (or post on my blog – haha)to let me know if she does any blog coaching? That would be awesome!
I would love to win the blog hosting prize! I love, love, love to write, but I struggle to blog consistently. I would love a little help and motivation.
wow!! This is crazy. I’ve always wanted to start a blog, even mentioned to my husband recently that I wanted to be a “blogger”. Today, I was checking out my facebook updates and saw this awesome contest!!! I do have a very special dream that God put into my heart a little over 2 years ago. I really want to open a small preschool that specializes in helping children with Autism. I do not have a child with Autism, but the rise in statistics just blows me away. So, I guess my blog would be about Autism. I guess God will guide me through that step. I’d really love to win the host package.
God Bless.
