Move It and Lose It

Do you hate exercise?
Me too.
No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to shake images from my past: being the last around the track in gym class; not being able to do the minimum numbers of chin ups for the President’s fitness test thingy every year; stinking at the ‘dashes’ in track–50 yard, 100 yard. Yep, I was more dwaddle and waddle than dash.
It still affects me today. Even though the gym I go to is full of mostly normal (and several elderly) people—it is a gym/hospital rehab combo, not a trendy gym– I still hate that I can’t crank up the treadmill to the speed of the gal next to me.
But I haven’t hated ALL exercise.
I used to love to play softball. And swim. And I was a cheerleader for years and captain of my college’s dance squad. (no snide remarks, please!)
I liked these activities because I thought they were fun and I was actually sort of good at them.
So, while I am in a bit of a movement slump recently, I’ve decided to quit focusing so much on the movements I loathe and try to go back to some I love.
Yep, just bought me a hip-hop dance exercise dvd . And I will have no audience, thank you very much! I’m hoping it will make the movement more enjoyable.
And I’m also planning on combining walking (which I don’t mind too much) with chatting with friends ( which I love). My Made to Crave Bible study is finished but some of us want to get together to pray and walk.
I think I’ll call it Made to Move.
We’ll just have to be careful we don’t walk to a coffee shop, grab an iced latte and drink back all the calories we just burned!
Now, tell us– what exercise do you enjoy?
There may or may not be a Starbucks gift card for one of you, chosen randomly, who comments! (You’ll just have to promise me you won’t use it for one of those screamin’ goodies in the glass bakery box!!!)
P.S. Thanks for the reminder in the comments from Gabriela. Have any of you memorized any scripture like we talked about back in March on this post? Let us know!!
Moving Blessings,

I do enjoy walking (when the weather is nice). I’ve been doing 20 min. of various workouts online (I like the hulu.com Self workouts). 20 min. works for me! I try to fit in some other kind of exercise later – walking, praise moves (stretching – with Bible verses to meditate on). I make sure that 3 days a week my 20 min. includes strength training. I do see a difference even from that short time and that motivates me.
Good morning!!!!
I like dancing ( aerobic, ballet, tap)!
This is the first part of the verse I am memorizing for me from Romans 12:1
“I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.”
Let’s see if I got it right:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
YES! I need the correct punctuation though. Now I can start memorizing the next verse: Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
I love to swim. I used to be a really strong swimmer, but knees and hips and shoulders that give me problems mean that I have been forced to adapt my strokes. So while I won’t win any races and look a little funny, I am one happy girl as I get in the pool and swim laps. As I swim I pray for family and friends and give thanks that I am able to be where I am and doing what I am doing. The time passes in a flash.
I like walking if I have someone to walk with – the walking is relaxing but when you go with someone else and just chat about whatever it feels more like an indulgence than exercise.
I never thought I would say this, but after following the Couch to 5K training program, I actually enjoy running. Really, I “run” so slow it’s just kinda like fast walking, but I get out there and do a half hour of running/walking and I feel good when I’ve finished. And I am totally an aerobics chick, too. I think it goes back to our cheerleading days!
I love walking – more outside than in, but will do either. I really love the treadmill when I have my ipod (which is loaded with inspirational and some funky dance songs) with me. I just started back to the gym and am loving the classes – who knew???
Zumba and step are the 2 I have tried and I am planning to be there for kickboxing tonight. Gonna get the body, I was created to have one of these days.
Thanks for the reminder to MOVE!!!!
My favorite exercise is walking. It give me a chance to pray and reflect as I walk. Have a blessed day. Starbucks is a treat for me, as it is so expensive. When I do get one it is a 1/2 decaf 1/2 regular coffee with lowfat milk. A card would be nice.
I have put on quite a bit of weight—-ugh!!! I like to walk, but really like to do it with someone. I really have to do something tho–I know I will feel better–and probabaly look better too!!!! Thanks and blessings,Barb
Walking at the park…with my husband or friends…talking and walking…the best of both worlds
)
Which hip hop dvd did you purchase? Do you like it? I love to dance – sweetheart husband not so much. So stopped to dance all together. Previous video’s (yup the VHS kind – been awhile) that I purchased i never seemed to like. If you like your hip hop – please share!!
I do enjoy walking, but only in fair weather – which I can usually find some excuse why the weather is not fair!
I enjoy swimming, biking, and walking. Also dancing – have tried some videos and like my Richard Simmons the best. It is easy to follow and fun. Also like Leslie Sansone walking videos – again very easy to follow and uplifting (she is a believer). I’ve got to stop waiting for the sun to come out here in southeast Michigan – and just get outside and enjoy the flowers telling me it is spring!
I love dancing around the living room with my kiddos! I also enjoy walking (outside, not on a treadmill WITH music in my ear).
Karen,
Thank you for the challenge from March, Date with James, to memorize something from the Scriptures by May 1st!!!! I started the Reshaping It All with Candace and today’s verse is the one I’ve finally began to memorize here!!!! It’s amazing!!! I’ve been coming across it a lot lately even at the Royal Wedding!
Thanking God for everyone He has used to bring me back to memorizing His Word!
I love to walk, either with my husband, a friend, or even by myself. I have my Mp3 player (I don’t have an Ipod yet) loaded with upbeat Christian Songs and love to listen to them as I walk. My goal is to graduate to jogging and/or running, and perhaps in a few pounds less I’ll manage to do that. I’ve read Made to Crave, and since January I’ve lost nearly 35 pounds! Finally learning and accepting that my body is God’s Temple and worthy of being taken care of has been such a blessing. I feel much closer in my relationship with God, and I feel better physically. I have so much more energy, and my goal is to use that new found energy to serve God in a greater capacity than I ever have before.
I have to say I love being on the treadmill, I do intervals run a minute walk fast a minute. what helps me stick to it is reading a good book. Yesterday I was re-reading a chapter from INS while on the treadmill and it helped me complete 50 mins!. God revealed during this time that we need to focus on his for help and for weight loss transformation. It is from him and from within us that we are able to excercise to loose weight. He showed me I can accomplish anything when I shift my focus from things onto him and let him do the transforming…It was an ahha practically in tears from a chapter while running/walking on the treadmill It reminded me that I am nothing with out God and that threw him all things are possible. Had I not been reading his word I would have not been able to stay on the treadmill. I may have let myself quit earlier. I am sucker for weight loss things, from videos for dance, yoga,Zumba video game etc etc…quipment yadda yadda yadaa..same results it fails with time. It is an eternal transformation that I needed because all those things motivate and fade away and become boreing but God and his word are living, and full of treasures and his motivation is continuous! If I win I would use the money to treat my 89 year old grandmother to a decaf starbucks drink. But I personally love the vanilla chai latte (hot) they are delicious!
I love hiking – not just walking, but hiking trails, wilderness hiking, etc.
I did not grow up loving exercise for many of the same reasons as you but as I got older it really has become a stress release. I like running, because it burns more calories than most in a short period of time and I love lifting weights. I teach a water aerobics class for seniors and I love the wisdom that comes from these lovely people.
Since you love to dance, I would suggest you try Zumba. It really is alot of fun!!
I enjoy biking and water walking our two lazy rivers at two different water parks. They leave a few jets on and one can walk with the current or against it. In the off-season, water aerobics of all types of classes is available at the YMCA’s.
I love walking with my daughter or my friend but the weather has been so miserable that I have not been very motivated. Bike riding and the Wii Fit are also fun options.
I love to walk with my husband at our local park. The only problem is I have been diagnosed with tarsal tunnel syndrome in my feet (that is carpal tunnel in hands.) My feet are asleep 24/7. It can be quite painful. I am believing for healing – pray with me please.
I am going to continue walking as much as I can as soon as the deluge of rain stops here in Pennsylvania.
I also love to swim but rarely get an opportunity. I have always been a complete failure at sports so that won’t work. I love to dance but get few opportunities.
Hope I don’t sound like I’m whining. I just need to keep on trying.
The Lord will provide what I need.
Well, I am not good at staying consistent with it, but my friend and I do the Leslie Sansone Walking DVD’s and we have different ones so we try to switch it up so we dont get bored with it. I would love to play tennis, but I have such bad knees that that is a hard thing to do. I dont have a bike, but I LOVE to bike ride.
I did it alot when I was a teen and had AWESOME legs
hehehe
I really do enjoy running. Yes, I do enjoy it ~ most days anyway! (wink, wink) Never thought I would like running until I tried it last summer. I think it is one of those exercises you either love or hate. And I’ve found I love it : ) Happy dancing!
I really enjoy walking with other moms after we take our kids to school. I also like to ride bikes with my husband and children. Probably more than anything else, though, I LOVE to dance! Since wedding receptions and nights out at dance clubs aren’t always accessible, Wii games work in a pinch. My girls and I have started dancing together at least once a week…such fun!
Yes, that will-power to get out of bed early and greet the day with hard work and sweat! NOT the most motivating at times, but I am a regular Walk at Home (Leslie Sansone) video girl (I own about 10 to keep it interesting.). I also hike with my boys at least once a week. We also do Scottish Country Dance – culture AND P.E.!!!
I LOVED Zumba while I had a gym membership, but we now live 30mins from the closest gym with a class. Since we homeschool, that drive (+ the gym and gas costs…YIKES!!) makes it impractical. However, I also LOVE Dance Dance Revolution
Thanks to my hubby and son, I own many discs and can dance away whenever I like. I’m working on jogging, too…just managed 4.25 miles last night in the 50mins my kids had piano lessons. Do what you love because it’s better to move, no matter what you’re doing!!!
I love to exercise! I get up do my devotions, and then I pop in a DVD – either Jillian Michaels, Leslie Sansome, or my faith DVD work out. I continue to “stagger” my workouts, this is the best way I can tone. I have read Made to Crave – I am my second time around because I “back slidded” on eating the sugar.
I still Crave God just as much! I love how you said “Made to Move”. I am doing the Bible Study on my own, I am still “praying” that I can get some ladies to join me. God Bless You Karen.
I love dancing! After reading your comment about the hip-hop DVD you bought, I just might have to go buy one of those for myself! I also enjoy walking, swimming, and exercising to the Leslie Sansone DVDs. Thanks for the inspiration to get (and keep) moving!
Definitely just playing with my boys, at the park, walking around the neighborhood, or running around the house… I almost can’t keep up with them!
I enjoy walking outdoors when the weather is decent (not raining, not 90 and humid, not below 35 and snowing). I was gifted with a gym membership last September (wonder whether that was a hint!). It was a budget gift, so the gym is one where mostly men go and it’s very basic. I go because I have the membership, but can’t say I enjoy it a great dea, because I feel very self-conscious.
I do not own any kind of personal music player, so the treadmill is BORING. About three weeks ago I finally learned some of the weight machines, and I like that better.
I joined a gym several months ago and I do enjoy going. Even when I don’t feel like going, once I get on that elliptical machine or treadmill it feels so good that I almost don’t want to stop. I like that they have a TV in front of each machine because that makes the time go faster and makes me want to work harder. I also enjoy walking and hiking. I would LOVE a Starbucks gift card!
I love to walk. It helps me to be quiet and reflect.
I’d love to get involved in a dance class of some sort, or even just consistently going to a park with a friend (especially one with kids) and chase after the kids for a good amount of time.
I have come to realize that actions of my high school/elementary phy.ed. teacher have really impacted how I view myself and exercise. Two very vivid memories have stayed with me- one where I was singled out in kindergarten as the example of how to do something wrong and one where I won the 400 in junior high (which I hated so was expecially excited to be in the lead) and all I heard from the teacher was cheering for the girl behind me. Finally, at age 40, I am realizing that I shouldn’t let a teacher I didn’t like anyhow impact me that way.
This past winter I have found Wii “My Fitness Coach” and am loving it. As the weather gets nicer, walking or hiking will come into the mix.
I LOVE strength training! And Wallyball! Well, when I had a gym membership.lol For those that don’t know, Wallyball is just like volleyball, but your in a room and you can use the walls to play off of! So fun!
I do have a couple hand weights that I use. I love to walk. Especially when spring is just starting or in the fall.(I HATE bugs!)
I love to dance too, but I try to stick to those music that is only the beat or Christian music. If not, before I know it, I’m doing moves that would not glorify God at all because a tune from my ‘old self’ infiltrates the mind and body. I love to throw on some Christian techno too. That is fun!
I love to run!!! It makes me feel great. I get into a zone, start talking to GOD and just go. I do however enjoying listening to my music when i run also. I am one that actually feel worse when i don’t exercise. I am addicted to it! I am a better mother, wife, and person when I wake up exercise followed by my quite time with the LORD and then start my day!
I am bad at exercising also but I do like to walk especially with a friend. I also like to dance but haven’t done this in awhile. I might have to find a fun dance DVD to exercise to.
I did a couch to 5k training program and found that I love running (well, somewhere between walking and running, not real fast I must admit). I love to plug in my ipod and pound it out.
I love to walk and bike outside, but am horrible at taking the time to exercise. I’ve recently made a commitment to do a 20-30 minute walking DVD (Leslie Sansone) in my basement daily and am amazed how differently I feel every day! I am happier and more patient with my kiddos.
Good afternoon.
A old favorite of mine is Turbo Jam. This DVD set gets you up and moving like it or not. The instructor makes it fun and makes you fit all the while to some old school (80′s) music.
-Colleen G.
I like running, Jazzercise (no longer live near one), Faithful Workouts (awesome programs that used to be on tv) and exercise videos.
Laugh if you want, but my favorite exercise is from the 90s–step! Actually, I love any type of choreographed, dance-type workout, especially in a class setting with a great instructor. I am dying to try Zumba but can’t afford a gym right now. So, I settle for DVD workouts and fill in with my elliptical on days when I don’t feel as strong.
I enjoy walking and have just got back on my bike after a long time and have been enjoying that too. I have just cancelled my gym membership after nearly 2 years of going as I have been lacking motivation. I hope that by having a few months off I will feel more like going. I would quite like to try one of those exercise boot camp groups (we have quite a few in our city) but memories of PE class at school are putting me off!
Walking
I started running 5 years ago with a local program that gets women from 0 to 4 miles (either running or walking) over the course of 12 weeks. The end result is participating in a local women’s only 4 mile run/walk that benefits our local hospitals breast cancer center. I literally could not run one lap around the track (1/4 mile) and now I have run two marathons! I have a small group of women that I almost always run with, it is so much better to have company. We all hold each other accountable and if one of us can’t make it there is usually someone else who can.
Exercise. I don’t really enjoy exercise either. In fact, in high school and college I was always more into thespian pursuits rather than sporty. Now I try to stay active mostly in walking. I live in a snow on the ground for six months out of the year place, so I find walking with Leslie Sansone very helpful. I also stay accountable with a friend, so the encouragement helps motivate me. Thanks for your post!
Hi Karen,
Lately I have been running on the tread mill and working toward the 5K mark. ( I had not even run a mile since I was 16!) It’s fun to see the progress and feel stronger. Last night was the first night of adult tennis class. Tennis is something I really enjoy but don’t do very often. The class is a way to get me out there at least once a week and to learn better technic! I also enjoy biking and walking with my family. Happy moving everyone!
Rebecca Ann
I love my elliptical machine. I also love to walk my dog. It’s not as fun to walk without him. With him, I have to keep up a decent pace or else he’ll walk me instead of me walking him!
Walking has always been the easy favorite.
However, I love to praise dance, and if you know anything about praise dancing, it can get you losing all sorts of things including spiritual and physical
I have not been as diligent about keeping up with any sort of exercise but with the weather finally warming up, I suspect it will become easier.
XO
I walk with a friend early every morning. I like ellipticals and dancing, too.
I love running while listening to podcasts/sermons… but when I can’t get out, I love doing videos (30 day shred) for just 20 min… I burn about 200 cals… Something is better than nothing… oh, and I don’t get those heavy sugar laden drinks at starbucks. I’ve learned to appreciate regular coffee… but sometimes add a shot of flavor
I so agree with the part about doing something you love.
I have always hated to exercise, but as a 43 year old woman I realised I wasn’t getting any younger and I was gradually getting bigger…. I have tried to work out to DVD’s and walk on the tread mill, heck I even joined a gym. None of it worked because it was WORK! I prayed about it one day as I was struggling to get up from the floor, and God reminded me that I used to LOVE to dance. So one day I put in my favorite dance music (70′s disco) and I danced for an hour or more. I have been dancing after I get off work ever since. I get a wonderful work out and the time passes so fast I am sad when the hour is up. I thank God he reminded me how much I accually love to move & “Get Down”.
I’m loving “Body Gospel” Working out to gospel music is awsome!!! you should check it out. Beachbody.com It has me motivated and with Made to Crave, it’s a perfect combo!!!! Good luck with the hip-hop:-)
I am so sorry to say I do love to exercise, I really do. I love being outside and moving and the sunshine. I have always been overweight but I do always exercise. I laugh because I think the neighbors see my riding my bike and walking for 10 years and probably say..”Poor lady, she is still fat.” ha, ha. I go anyway but I would rather exercise than clean and be in my house. My advice is always put on your shoes and say you will just go for 5 or 10 minutes, it is hard to stop after 5 or 10 so you may as well continue. Also, I go early in the day before I can change my mind or come up with other things to do. I also have friends who like to walk at night. If you turn off the computer and tv you will find you have lots of extra time…fill it with a walk!
My son (stationed in Egypt right now, prayers appreciated) got Jay Johnson’s bootcamp for my 44th birthday last year (May 5th, it’s been a year! ha). I loved it.. My DVD remote quit working so I haven’t done it in a long time. But journaling my workouts in Body-for-LIFE has been great. I love seeing God showing me the strong body I told Him He didn’t give me.
I hate, hate, hate to exercise. I want to love it, because Heaven knows I need it, but I just don’t. I force myself to get up and run or do the Thirty Day Shred three times a week. I know I NEED to do more and wish it wasn’t such a chore. I just haven’t found an exercise yet that I love, so I press on…but I am NOT happy about it. I joined Beth Moore’s Siesta Scripture Memory Team this year and am memorizing my 9th verse of the year…it has been a huge blessing!
My favorite exercise is bike riding with my family… although that has become less and less frequent as my kids are getting older and have their own social activities to attend!
Walking with a friend is another absolute favorite – what a great way to get some exercise AND make those important connections in life!
I so need to be moved!
I bso need to move too. After being in an auto accident 2.5 yrs ago, it has been hard to get moving. I’m in physical therapy and I realize how important it is to exercise. I’m going to start by trying to walk for 1/2 hour. We will see how it works. After reading these comments, I feel motivated. Nanci
I need to learn how to get my butt off this chair and away from the computer. Somehow having a baby gave my body 35 extra lbs
I need to check out the gospel body dvd. Coffee is the best
I so am going to go look for gospel body. Sounds like a good thing, I have been going to the gym with my daughters. ** have paying for over 5 years and not going** we have been doing the p90x as a class there. I have lost some weight. I am happy after not going for 3 weeks due to my work schedule. I have maintain my weight!!!!! that is huge for me. * the coach is a beady body coach (kody smith).
blessing everyone,
suzi
I love the idea of exercise but haven’t found one that I just love to do. I like the results and want to be this active energetic Mom who just loves to get out there and exercise but alas that hasn’t happened yet.
My body doesn’t like to excercise but my mind does
I’m just not sure how to make my body listen to my mind. I loved the comment about dancing. I, too, love to dance. Maybe I’ll give it a try. Just turn on some good dance music and start moving.
Lorri
I like to walk around my block…mostly to clear the head and not so much to burn calories! If I do manage to get to the gym, I usually do the treadmill and listen to my very old podcasts from Focus on the Family…I don’t get there too often!
I really don’t like exercise at all but I need to so badly!! Three of my five kids are very slim and have great energy and then my younest two are a little on the fluffy side and are picky eaters. I too am a little on the fluffy side so I know I need to help them by being the example of taking care of my body and eating good. I’m not a picky eater….they get that from their daddy. teehee I have the Made to Crave book but haven’t started it yet…silly me. Great post thank you!
I love walking with my kids in the stroller–especially when I’m with another mom chatting, and the kids fall asleep!
I’m trying to fit into old clothes now that I am done having babies. I need to fit into them out of necessity because we don’t have the money to invest in a new wardrobe. But, I’ve found my body has changed after seven years and three kids. My escape right now is to take one of our younger dogs on a 2-mile walk through our country roads to see the mountaintops and valleys God has created. While in college and through physical therapy after knee surgery, my favorite exercise was riding the elliptical. It wasn’t a bike, but it wasn’t a treadmill. I used to love riding my bike for miles through a bike trail created from an old railroad line, and it was so relaxing and peaceful and awe-inspiring because I could go for miles and just take in all of what God has made. I can’t wait til my kids are a bit older so I can do that activity with them.
Back in March, my youngest son decided he did not want to participate in spring soccer. I had been searching for something we could together. Our family is very busy and I wanted some time together, and not on the couch time. We decided to take Karate. We are having a blast and do it together. This is the best exercise for me and for my children. When my husband is available he also attends. I really have to work on the push ups during our warm up time. The girlie ones are not appreciated by the black belts in the class!
my kids and I enjoy doing all of the the Wii Fit and Wii Just Dance DVD’s. It’s hard to find activities to do with older kids and this is something we have fun doing together! And it’s actively beneficial, too! Try it….you’ll be surprised!!
I too HATE exercise! I love to do physical work or play volleyball, dance, walk with friends, but I don’t consider that exercise for the sake of “exercising.” My WW leader told me, “You don’t have to like it; you just have to do it!” This worked for a long time, until my last baby. Now I’m struggling to “just do it” again and, of course, beating myself up for not. Goodluck with your new hip-hop dance.
I hate exercise…I know God tells us not to hate. But I’m just sayin’. LOL! I have just recently purchased “Zumba” for the Wii. I love it. It does not feel like a workout.
Running has been a part of my life for over 2 decades. After a bit of a break post-kids, I’m now pounding the pavement again, although at a reduced level due to the fact that I want to preserve my joints until my 90′s, if God grants me those years! Pilates and occasional elliptical machine workouts help me to feel my best as well.
I have never exercised. I have been moving and exercising for 8 weeks and have nerer felt better. I am so thankful for the Lord pushing me to change my life.
I have never exercised. I have been moving and exercising for 8 weeks and have never felt better. I am so thankful for the Lord pushing me to change my life.
I love LOVE LOVE Zumba! Sadly though, my love of Zumba caused me to hurt my heel…plantars Faciaitis….soo I am down for the count for a while. I also love walking with friends. I am hoping to get a walking group together this Summer for some evening walks!
My husband and I enjoy bike riding together. Hopefully the weather is nice on Saturday so we can go!
My doctors keep telling me I need to excercise, I need to walk to help my diabetes & heart. I know I do, but find every excuse not too.. I am going to check into the Body Gospel DVD. I know with the Lord’s help I can do this!
As a busy Mom it is so hard to make time to exercise but I know if I dont I will not be effective in other areas of my life. I love when I do go workout but find it hard to pencil it in my day. I like others would like to try the Body Gospel DVD. I also am reading Lysas book. I know with God all things are possible and I look to him for direction. I have a feeling he is going to nudge me and say I need to get up earlier to make time for my workout. I am remebering that my body belongs to Christ and if I am giving him all the Glory he deserves then I need to eat healthy and exercise. Blessings and Happy Mothers Day to All!!!
I guess I forgot to say what exercise I do like when I find time. I like a variety of things from running, walking and swimming to dancing!! I find mixing it up keeps me from getting board.
I was in a exercise slump myself a few weeks ago. I decided to change what I was doing, which was walking on the treadmill, and I bought a kickboxing DVD…I LOVE IT! It has me moving in ways that just plain walking didn’t. I am so glad that I tried something new!
I have yet to find my preferred way of exercising. I have a membership to a women’s gym, but am having trouble finding the motivation to get up and go. I’m starting to pray for the desire to take care of the temple He’s entrusted to my care.
I would love and desperately need to win a book like this! After many years of trying to do everything I am starting just one at a time, with God’s help!
Sorry, I’m not good at exercising! I start a program, then other things seem to take priority. I’m also at that age where I have to work 10 times harder just to lose a pound! No fun!! Would love to be entered in the contest tho!!!
I hate exercising but I desperately need to do something before my body gives out on me.
I like running and I love the challenge of Jillian Michaels’ DVDs.
I can’t afford a gym. I walk 4-5 times a week and try to do an aerobic video at home. I do one of Gillad’s Body’s in Motion. I kind of enjoy aerobics, however, my one year old grandson who now lives with me thinks I’m dancing and he wants me to hold him and dance with him, so I’ve cut back on that because it’s too difficult. I’ve tried to challenge myself to do some weight lifting but don’t enjoy it as much and tend to procrastinate it. I walk with my boyfriend so we get some great quality time as well as exercise and I look forward to that.
Happy Mother’s Day!
I don’t enjoy exercise much, but do enjoy walking around the lake nearby with a friend. I should be doing it more often and since it is spring, the weather is much nicer here for it! I don’t have any excuses I guess : )
Great idea – I love the name. I am currently doing the 21 days of made to crave so I think I’ll be moving next!
I can’t think of a single exercise that I enjoy but I am going to read through all these comments and see if I can change that. If i had the time and money I think might enjoy yoga or pilates classes but may be not.
I so need to get up and move, but I hate doing it. Being a diabetic, I really need to move more which will continue to help me to loose weight and hopefully someday loose the medicine that I have to take daily. Reading what you wrote has encouraged me today to get up and move. Thank you!!
Hmmmmm still thinking on this one. In my mind I like to exercise but I just don’t get to it!
I adore going on walks with my son. He’s 2 (soon to be 3) and he loves it too; he’ll walk the whole 3 miles (1.5 to and 1.5 from with a break at the playground) to the front of our neighborhood and back! I’m a CNA and a nursing student, so I’m constantly walking, lifting, pushing, pulling at work and clinicals, but I don’t really exercise. The walks I take with my son are a nice break for both of us!
I like walking, but now with a 2 and 3 year old if we walk they want to bike, and not so much exercise happens. But I so need to lose the baby weight! So my hubby and I shopped and shopped and got a good deal on an elliptical. That way if I only have 10 minutes, I can make it count! Not my absolute favorite, but it works.
I don’t enjoy exercise… until i’m actually doing it – and then it’s not all that bad. I like Zumba, walking, and rowing… and I’m hoping to start running with my daughter.
Zumba!!! Love it – but it is definitely a good workout!! Also, I love going to the library when I get in a rut and getting 5 new workout dvds – I always like at least 1 or 2 of them and even if I can’t stand the other 3, I got 5 workouts in just trying them out!! And its a free way to try new workouts before you buy!!
I just finished doing a 30 min. Workout using the Nike Training Club app and it was a great workout!!!!! It’s free!!!
