Better, Not Bitter

In junior high, when I was living the life of a teen in the midst of a broken, sometimes violent and often empty home, I wandered to the little church kitty-corner from my house on occasion to attend their youth events.

They had snacks.

And crazy-fun games.

And a couple cute boys.

That was enough to get me there on Sunday nights.

But they also had guest speakers sometimes too. I liked listening to them.

One once declared something I have never forgotten. He mentioned it while I was smack dab in the crosshairs of divorce and sorrow.

I clung to it. I determined it would be true of my life. It is this:

The hard times in life are designed to make you better, not bitter.

Does anyone need a dose of that perspective today?

Share and Enjoy!
