Much Ado About You Planner Giveaway

Recently, my friend Lysa wrote about her favorite paper planner in this post here. I am also a gal who cannot get into the swing of an electronic calendar and, since it was time for me to get a new planner in September, I ordered one of the planners from the dear folks at Much Ado About You.

My calendar (and my kiddos pick on my desk)

I LOVE IT!!!

Month-at-a-glance, week-at-a-glance, a pocket in the back and tons of space for notes & numbers. It is an invaluable tool for any gal!

Here is a little bit about Emmy, the creator of this business:

Hi! I’m Emmy from Much Ado About You.

I am a Paper Freak. Really. I love all things paper, and I get giddy excited when the paper companies come out with their new lines each season.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have an 8 year old son and a 7 month old daughter.

I love Jesus, and like to tell people about the amazing things God has done in my life to reveal Himself to me.

I run my business out of my home office and garage work space, and have 5 employees {including my baby’s nanny}, without whom I could not function.

We make products to help plan and organize life, including our popular Personalized Day Planner that has been sold in all 50 states and 7 countries. Life is crazy, my house is usually a disaster, my printer makes me bananas… but I love it all!

Well, the creative and generous Emmy who owns this swell business has offered to give away a medium sized planner to one commenter today. Just tell us what kind of planner or calendar system you currently use.

And Emmy also will provide 10% off of any calendars ordered through Friday, November 25th. Use the coupon code karen10 at checkout. Note that orders must be placed by December 1 to be ready for Christmas delivery.

And don’t worry. If you order one and then are the winner, your money will be refunded. :-)  Winner announced Wednesday.

Seriously—-ask for this for Christmas. And then, go on her cool site, pick your cover, choose your size and you can even upgrade and get all your special days put in the calendar.

YES!!!

I have all my family’s birthdays, anniversaries, upcoming weddings, etc…. already printed in my calendar.

Oh, I am in planner heaven!!

And soon you will be too!

*By the way…the winner of the Beating Busyness package from the weekend is Andrea Stanley. Please send your home address to kim@proverbs31.org to claim your prize.

Also, since so many of you have been asking for a family update on my sister-in-law, please see the post below. I appreciate your prayers.

Share and Enjoy!

I use a Christian women’s planner that I found at the “Bob and Larry” store, as my kids call it. It’s time for me to find another one for next year, though, and this one looks amazing!

    • Deb V says:

First of all Karen, I want to let you know that your sister-in-law and the rest of your family are in my prayers. Also I prayed for safe travel for the girls heading back to North Carolina today.

Right now I only use a wall calendar to keep track of appointments and special days. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes not. I would love to win one of these planners. They are so cute.

    • natasha says:

    • Karen Jackson says:

      Hi Karen,
I actually use an old iphone with no phone capability and a cell phone my son bought for me! So if it is really important I pray and hope that something will trigger in my mind that I’m suppose to be SOMEWHERE!!!
      Blessings in Christ’s beautiful name!!

      Hi Karen,
I was just trying to coordinate my “muti-calendar” system (mom’s plan-it wall calendar, phone, pocket calendar, and a handful of notes and lists) when I came across this. This could be INTERVENTION…saving me the stress of too many places to look! Thank you for your wonderful insights to help keep us on track for the Lord and our families!
      Blessings,
      Kim

    • Dot says:

Planner? What planner? I bought one a while ago but have no idea where it is.

    • Lisa Buchanan says:

I like to use planners and am good about getting them all prepared and then forget to carry them with me! UGH!

    • Jennifer says:

I would love to win one of these supercute planners! I currently use a wall calendar in my kitchen which has big spaces for everything but have been struggling to find the perfect calendar to keep with me and also don’t prefer electronic calendars.

      Thanks,

      Jennifer R

    • Sweet….need a planner for 2012, thank you for the opportunity:) I am praying for you and your family.
This planner will help me keep track of it, after all it will have my name on it!!!

    • jenjen says:

I have a family calendar on the side of the fridge where I put appts, sports, etc. I also am trying to use my iPhone calendar more, as it can give me a audible reminder which is great b/c I never know where I’ll be when I need reminding!!! :) Will keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.

    • Staci M says:

I try to do all of my planning on a wall calendar for all to see, except I forget to look at it :( I have tried the electronic way of keeping track, but I don’t really do well with that either. I haven’t found the perfect way to keep track of everything. This planner sounds FANTASTIC!!!

    • wanda says:

I use my school agenda book (High School). I carry it everywhere.
I also like Lilly Pulitzer’s 18 month agenda–now if I could just stay on track with filling it up.

    • kay says:

Embarrasingly enough, I’m using a spiral notebook and writing in the dates each day – not too efficient, I know!

    • Barb Wall says:

I write things down on the back of envelopes!! I would so love to win–maybe it will change my life!!!! Thank you and many blessings, Barb Saying prayers for your sweet sister-in-law. I hope ya’ll have a very Happy Thanksgiving

    • This planner is adorable. Not only am I a fellow Paper Lover, I am a Vintage Lover too so right off the bat, the Much Ado About You title banner caught my eye! I am currently using my blackberrry to house all my appointments on, however when in church meeting, it makes notes taking a little tough:( Love your Products! Thank You Karen for sharing this cute shop!

    • Kristy Strop says:

i am using a combination approach to planning…and honestly, it’s not working that well! I have a little planner in my purse, a big calendar on my desk, a wall calendar on my fridge :/ HELP!!

    • Angela Hogan says:

      Karen,

Thank you soo much for posting about your new planner. I have tried different electronic versions and paper planners. I haven’t found anything that fits me yet. I am definitely more of a paper planner person. I am heading over to order one as a gift to myself.
      Thank you again!
      Blessings,
      Angela Hogan

    • Megan Gaddis says:

I use my brain… it’s incredible inefficient and forgetful, but I haven’t been able to organize myself to do anything else unfortunately!

    • Judi Splint says:

      Hi Karen ~
I am still back in the pen and paper days myself. The computer era is too much for me. I love to use my calendar; I look at it everyday, and I would be lost without it.
The little book is always easily available to me; I don’t need to turn on the computer for reminders, or just to simply see what I have planned in the future. All my vacation time, theatre nights, etc. are in my calendar. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Congratulations to those of us who are still hangin’ on to our pens and paper!
      Judi.

    • Kim C says:

My planning consists of a date book I found at Walmart, a mom’s wall calendar and a clipboard with a master to do list. My master grocery list is on the clipboard, another list on the fridge.. I love paper !!

    • Angela says:

I usually make my own planner. But, my printer just died on me, so i would love a new one. These are super cute.

    • Janet W. says:

Hi Karen, I’m praying for your sister-in-law.

I just started using a planner this year that I picked up from Wal-Mart & it has helped me so much. I would love to win one for my Mom who has multiple dr. appts to keep up with!

      Blessings,
      Janet W.

    • Laurie says:

I currently use a planner from Blue Sky (www.blueskyimg.com)… purchased at Office Depot and chosen because of the pretty colors available! It is “Weekly/Monthly” so that I can see the entire month at once… and then turn to the view of the week, and make my “to do lists” on each day.

For the past few years, I’ve used an “academic year” calendar that runs from July-June… it seems that I tend to plan so much of my business and our family things similar to the school year that this has taken the stress out of having two calendars to keep track of from September to January!

Oh, how FUN it would be to have a personalized “Much Ado About You” planner with all those special dates already printed!! LOVE IT!

    • Sherri Williams says:

I am in need of a great planner to keep my life on schedule. Sounds like I have found it!! Thanks and have a blessed day!!

    • Colleen G. says:

Sadly the planner I use was one given to me by a business. I do see that as the months go on and kids get older how much more helpful one of these nifty planners would be. Very beautiful and would Love, Love, Love to win one. Thanks for the oppurtunity.
      -Colleen G.

    • Christene Catlin says:

I use several type of planners but nothing formal. I have a pocket calendar in my purse and then I have a printed calendar that I record our meals on sometimes they mesh and sometimes they don’t.

    • Jessy Perzel says:

I love to plan! I am currently using a Google calendar that I share with my husband but I have been toying with the idea of using a paper planner again – will definately check out Much Ado About You.

    • Mary says:

I just use a spiral notebook that I write the date on each page. Last year I could not find a calendar that I like. These are beautiful!

    • Carol says:

Love planners, calendars. This year I used a freebie advertising one. I like one small enough to carry in my purse, but not TOO small. Half the fun is in the finding! Now if onwing an prganizer only insured being organized… :-)

    • I use my Covey calendar and dabble in online options, but I too just love paper! And I love the idea of my important dates printed right on my own customized calendar. That is really cool.
More importantly, I want to join in your prayers for Thais.
Thank you Lord for amazing women of faith, like Thais. Thank you that as she suffers so much pain and lets go of the pleasures of earth, she is such a testimony and witness to You. That she reminds us of what’s really important, the people in our lives, but even more You. Thais has the eternal perspective, Lord. Obviously, she trusts you with her very life. Allow her to feel your pleasure with her. Strengthen her in you. And, yes, Lord, we ask for the miracle of healing for Thais, as we trust your will in all matters. I thank you Lord for the witness of Thais, that reminds me of your Word, “But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.” – Philippians 3:7-8. Bless Thais Lord, this day and every day in Jesus’ name, Amen.

    • Jodie McLagan says:

I currently use a desk calendar that sits on top of our desk at home along with a small notebook I keep with me. It’s hard to find a calendar/planner that I like – these look great, very personable and small enough to take with you. Thank you for offering this giveaway.
      Blessings on your day! Jodie

    • Angie says:

I have one for work (I am a teacher) and, now that we are empty nesters, deliberately just use a monthly calendar at home that hangs on the wall for extras – otherwise it’s all in my head. A little protest against having to be over-organised in my free time when it all has to be super-controlled at school.

    • Kim says:

Currently using a calendar with a month at a glance with enough space for the appointments and the To Do list. I have used the Covey Planner/Quadrant II planning system and it works very well.

    • Melissa says:

I am a list making, binder carrying, agenda following busy mother, and my husband calls me, “The Planner”! I would love to try out a new planner. I’ve tried so many, and I never manage to find JUST what I’m looking for. :) This -to me- is beyond exciting!!

    • Desiree says:

I am currently using Family Planner. But it wasn’t my favorite. I am looking one that meets my needs better. This one looks great!

    • Ann : ) says:

Currently use a wall calendar but also need one to carry in my purse. I usually have a to do list on the counter by the radio.

    • Leisa Mayberry says:

      Hi Karen,
Blessings to you and your precious family. I echo Elise’s prayer for Thais, and am also praying for your family.
I’m a paper-loving girl too, but have been trying (unsuccessfully!) to combine several systems – I add events and appointments to my Outlook computer at my office then invite myself and send an email to add them to the Flylady calendar on the kitchen counter at home,. But that doesn’t always get done :( These calendars are SO cute and I’m SO glad you featured them today. I think it would be easy to carry one around and write the events in it at the same time I add them to my Outlook calendar. I saw them on Lysa’s blog and even looked at the website that day, but procrastinated about ordering then couldn’t find the website when I looked later.

    • Allison C. Bayer says:

Ahh, the smell of a fresh new planner. Lots of possiblities . . . look at all of those God given days ahead of me!!! Pocket calendar (paper kind) in purse. Weekly planner (paper kind) on desk for scheduling time with God, customers quilts, sewing retreats, family time, guild meetings, dental and chiropractic appointments. Fridge calendar (paper kind) for merging of hubbys and grandkids activities. I really, really, really like paper because . . . I don’t have to plug it in or worry about it breaking if I drop it!! Blessings to you and your family for a lovely and down to earth Thanksgiving. Allison

    • Lauren S. says:

Hi, I would really LOVE to win this!!! RIght now I use the sticky note on the fridge planner system. :)

    • Carrie P. says:

These planners are soooo adorable! I currently use a 99 cent pocket planner from Walgreens. It gets the job done, but it’s definitely nothing special! I also use a 1-month dry erase calendar for my 3-year-old son’s activities so he can see what’s coming up, mark out each day that goes by, and is hopefully learning a sense of time. Anyway, while I won’t mind getting my 99 cent planner again, I would love to carry around this fun planner :)

    • Daphne says:

Well, I use a wall calendar, but I need one of the really big ones so I can fit everything into each day’s box :-) I’ve tried using one of the small planners to carry in my purse, but I could never manage to get everything recorded in 2 places! I’m not a smart phone user, so that’s a no-go. Struggling to find that perfect method so that I don’t miss or forget important dates!! Blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving!!

    • Laura says:

I use both paper and electronic…..
mostly paper one for family, etc. and electronic for work….with mixture for some things that slip my mind….

    • Sarah K says:

I love beautiful papers and office supply stores – my weakness. However, I confess I use an inexpensive planner with gobs of sticky notes plastered in the pages. Please put my name in the drawing!

    • Denise Akkerman says:

I have used a great planner for years that contains uplifiting stories weekly and a Bible verse on each day. It is kept near our phone and is the master planner for the family. I am not ready to go electronic when it comes to my planner. Praying for your sister!

    • Karen Vater says:

I use a desk blotter calendar and last month I missed two appts because we lost power for 3 days and I did not rip off the previous month until it was too late, total chaos and hurt feelings, I hope in 2012 to be so organized and on top of my game, mailing special cards for all occassions that family and friends will know how much I do care for them…how great would it be to be early or on time and not always sending belated (I would really love to win this) (^=

    • Edwina Cowgill says:

Oh, wow -would I love one of these. I use 4 calendars – desk calendar and wall calendar in home office; calendar in kitchen; and calendar in office. I also use my Blackberry. Somehow need to get all of this into 1 super great planner!

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

    • Karen Ehman says:

Via email: I use a good old Walmart, Mead daily calendar. Please enter me in the drawing!
      Thx Marla

    • Marla L says:

I use a Walmart Mead brand daily calendar that I carry in my purse.
      Thx!

    • Elizabeth says:

I use the google calendar and I color code each calendar so it looks like a real rainbow…4 kids, 2 jobs, etc…

    • Kim Thompson says:

I currently use the calendar function that comes with Windows Mail. I’m in trouble if my computer crashes. I would love to win this planner.

    • Mippy says:

Haha! Planner? Ummm…I need one but don’t have one currently. I use scraps of paper to make notes and lists and a tiny calendar book I put in my purse that a friend gave me last year for Christmas..
Thank you for the chance! :)
      ~Mippy :)

    • Kathy says:

I love paper calendars. I have one on the wall, on my desk and in my purse. When ever we get calendars in the mail at work, the receptionist ask me if I want it.

    • Jeannie S says:

I pray for your sweet sis-in-law, my heart breaks for all of you. May God give you strength, peace and comfort. I just use a plain notebook and a purse size calendar.

    • Lauri Mueller says:

I prefer a paper planner. I like to write my info down & be able to jot notes as needed. I just can’t seem to get into the electronic calendars.

    • Elise Klicko says:

I use a Barnes and Noble re-fillable “Silver Lining” planner.

I am looking for something different. I love these. I just cannot afford them right now! :(

      Love these so much!!!

    • Miranda White says:

I use a dollar tree planner. Praying for your family Karen. Your sister has so much faith and love for God. She is very dedicated to him. That is geat

    • Stephenie says:

I love my paper calendar! I also have a 3-ring binder with a section for each family member. That being said, I still struggle with piles of paper. I’m famous for put it down and find a place for it later. And then ther’s the what do I do with appointment cards etc. that will go on next year’s calendar. Tried using the calendar in my phone, but I hated it. Help!

    • Andrea stanley says:

I currently use a calendar I received in the mail and sticky notes everywhere! These planners are so beautiful and unique and a great idea!

    • Elaine Segstro says:

My problems seem so small when I hear about your sister-in-law. Her body is fading away, but her eyes tell the story of her love and dependence on God. What a testimony! I use a tiny day calendar, and then double book myself when I check our kitchen family calendar. Oh to have ONE planner!

    • Stephanie says:

I currently use a paper calendar but it’s not as cute or nice as these :)

    • Robin Still says:

Hi there! Allow me to start this message by saying I have been praying prayers to Our Great Physician for healing and comfort for your sweet sister in law. He is the Great Almighty and I know that He will work to do for those who love Him.

As far as planning goes…I use a calendar that hangs in my kitchen on the refrigerator…There are 6 of us in my family and it often doesn’t have enough room for all the schedules…then there is the hubby with his electronic version and thereby not putting it on my paper verision…we get double booked or something is forgotten. I would really like to have a planner all my own that I can put “my important” things in such as school holidays, birthdays, etc.

Thank you for always being a blessing and bringing a smile to my face! Happy Thanksgiving!

      Smiles and Blessings,
      Robin :)

    • Laura says:

I use a monthly desk calendar with weeks included. I have tried many different types of desk calendar and have never found one I love. This could be it!!! Would love to try it.

I am forever looking for the perfect planner! I like paper planners but have been using my iPhone lately..

    • Teske says:

I love these!! I’m nearly out of pages in my current planner…good timing. I use a notebook style planner (Mead) that has a monthly calendar and then day-to-day pages. I have to be able to see the whole month at one time.

    • melyssa lloyd says:

I am currently using a planner that has month view and week view. I absolutely love it! There are inspiring quotes and verses inside. It’s printed on beautiful paper and created by a friend. I am sad because she is not making them this year. I’ve been worried about finding one that could possibly be as good or better…and what is your post about today but an awesome planner!! I hope I win! But if I don’t, I’ll probably buy one. yay!! :)

    • Janet says:

This is great! I am a paper freak too! I use a pocket calendar for everything and those little squares just do not hold enough-LOL.. Thank you for this giveaway! Happy Thanksgiving :)

I’m still looking for a planner! Thank you for sharing.

    • Heather N says:

I am a paper gal too–only using a monthly calendar!! I recently converted to your planning system, Karen, with a 3-ring binder. It works great and is helping me keep track of everyone’s loose ends. I do miss being able to bring it with me, so this would be a perfect compliment.

    • Rebecca says:

I looked at those planners after Lysa’s post and thought they were fabulous, however, I had just gotten a clearance one so didn’t get it. I love plnners and writting down stuff but it’s not all in one place. I need something that I can take with me all the time and have everything together. This would be amazing!

      Rebecca Ann

    • Sandra says:

I currently use a More Time Moms calendar (lots of big spaces for writing) and we color coordinate our activities. However, having a planner that can travel with me wherever I go would be a huge boon! And these planners are adorable! ;)

    • Emily B says:

I LOVE a paper planner—I’m old-school like that. I like to be able to cross things off my list – it’s super rewarding! Right now I’m using a calendar that coincides with the school year (although, I’m not in school, nor do I have children). It was a cute polkadot planner and had the writing space that would work for me. I love the Much Ado planners—so cute and personalized for each individual need—BRILLIANT! (wish I’d thought of it first :)

    • kay says:

I am using a spiral notebook which is not really efficient.
I would LOVE to have a real planner and the Much Ados are so cute!

    • Becky says:

I used to use a Mary Engelbreit planner every year, and I loved that, but this year I don’t have a planner. I really like one that is big enough to just leave open on my desk so I can refer to it through the day. So I hope I win!!

    • Karen Ehman says:

via email: Please enter me in the drawing for the planner, that would be amazing! Thank you!
      Jana Payne

    • Christina in NO KY says:

I, too, am addicted to paper. I tried the electronic planners but they do nothing for my sense of touch! These planners are beautiful and would make all my senses sing!

    • Tania Scott says:

I am a paper kind of girl. I have tried using the calendar on my phone to keep up with appointments, birthdays, deadlines, etc. and find that I do better if I have a planner, pencil/pen and highlighter. Thanks for the giveaway. I’m heading over to her site to check out those planners.

    • Selena M. says:

I have been using my blackberry lately, but do miss having a “paper” copy that I actually hold in my hands and write in!!

    • Sara Westhead says:

This would be so awesome – I personally don’t need one, but I know of someone that I could definitely share it with, so it could be a blessing to someone else.

    • Mary Whitelock says:

I hate to admit it but I’ve tried many planners over the years and never succeed in keeping them updated. I use my flylady calendar in the kitchen to keep everything up to date and that works well! However, recently I got an Ipod and a free electronic calendar from Cozi.com. I can update it on my computer at home and it sends email reminders. I also have my small Ipod in my purse to schedule the next dentist appt etc while I’m still at the office. My husband also has the app on his ipod and everyone sees the same thing (well if they CHOOSE to look at it! I still get asked on a daily basis if I have to work when it’s clearly marked on the calendar in the kitchen and the electronic one) I have to say though that I agree that these look really cute and I know whoever won it will really enjoy it!

    • Heather V says:

I use a weekly type calendar that sits on my counter. Looks like this one is a little more “travel with me” friendly so may have to switch! I would love to win it!
