First, visit my other site Untangling Christmas where this week you could win a Kindle Fire. I am serious! A generous donor is giving one away to one gal who Facebooks, blogs or tweets about our ebook.
And second, any of you ever watch the TV show Full House?
Remember the adorable D.J. Tanner who was clever and always had the cutest boyfriends?
Well, actress Candace Cameron Bure, who played D.J., is a grow-up woman who loves God, hubby & family—in that order.
She is launching a fabulous new online magazine today called RooMag that will provide women with ideas, tips and inspiration as wives and mothers and give them a place for online connection and community with other women.
I was so honored to be asked to be one of the monthly contributors to the magazine. (Yes, I’m still pinching myself!)
Check out this one-minute video by Candace telling about this site that launches today! (And be sure to catch her new movie that airs on this Sunday, December 4th called The Heart Of Christmas- at 7 & 9pm EST on GMC TV.)
Now, for day two of our 12 Days of Christmas….here’s Micca Campbell!
Micca Campbell’s favorite Christmas food is her Granny’s homemade dumplings. She is looking forward to spending Christmas this year as the great aunt of Braden and Selah.
Visit Micca’s blog today for easy ways to share the gospel with your friends and family. Here she is:
One of my favorite Christmas memories is when my niece and I led Cody to Christ on Christmas day!
That year my eldest son’s friend, Cody, joined us for Christmas dinner along with other friends and family. As the evening ended, Cody put on his coat and then shouted, “Merry Christmas,” while waving good-bye with his hand high in the air.
Then, he paused and fiddled with his jacket as if he were hesitating.
It was six months until graduation. After that, Cody would employ to Iraq after his training.
“Are you excited about the joining the Army?” I asked.
“I wish I had never joined. If I don’t graduate, I don’t have to go. So I’ve decided not to finish school,” Cody said as he shuffled his feet back and forth.
I sighed and shared with Cody, “peace comes in impossible situations when we rely on God and trust Him with your future.”
Stunned, Cody asked. “In order to rely on God, don’t I first have to …uh what’s the word, get saved?”
“You’ve never trusted Christ as you personal Lord and Savior?” I asked.
“No, I haven’t,” Cody said shaking his head back and forth. My niece and I escorted Cody into a quite room where we explained about the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Cody accepted the peace of God and his countenance changed right in front of our face.
With excitement, Cody announced to our guest, “I just gave my heart and life to Jesus!” Cheers erupted and the Spirit of Christmas filled the house in a deeper way than before.
Cody’s new birth was a Christmas miracle. It reminded me of the miracle that took place that holy night over 2000 years ago.
That miracle is why we celebrate. Because Christ came, all people can experience the miracle of new life.
May the Spirit of Christmas fill your home this year with fresh awe and wonder!

See you tomorrow for day three!

I LOVE Christmas, Christmas songs, Christmas books! Hard to choose a favorite but one of my favorites isn’t necessarily a Christmas book, more of a Christmas anytime book but it is the children’s book “All is Well” by Frank Peretti.
Favorite Story we read at Christmas is Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado

I don’t have a memory of someone coming to faith during the holidays, but I do have a very special memory of when my 16 year old son came to Christ. He was just about 4 years old and I was in the kitchen making dinner. He liked to come in there with me and just chat about whatever was on his mind, and this day was no different. I remember that he was talking about Heaven and I asked him if he knew how one gets to Heaven. No, he didn’t so I told him that Jesus loves us and all we have to do is to trust Him and to ask Him to come live in our hearts; we needed to ask for His forgiveness for the wrong stuff we’ve done and let Him come in. My son looked at me wide-eyed and said, “Oh, Momma … I want to do that!” So, I turned off the stove (dinner could wait) and we knelt down right there on the kitchen floor and we prayed. Alex asked Jesus to forgive him for his naughty stuff and to come live inside his heart.” It was SO precious. Afterwards, he was so excited to announce that now he was going to Heaven!
Thanks for the opportunity to share that special memory.
I love reading the Christmas story. Even though I know the ending, I am brought to tears.
I haven’t had the honor to led someone to Jesus on Christmas, but what an great privilege for Micah. Thanks for sharing. My favorite Christmas story is the Christmas story as told in Luke 2. It is the story my dad read to us every Christmas eve. It has the “‘no room in the inn” part and the excitement of the angels appearing to the shepherds. One verse that I understand even more now that I am a mom is verse 19: ” but Mary treasured up all these things … in her heart.” That is what I try and do every Christmas to treasure the season in my heart and the hearts of my family.

<3 I LOVE giving Christmas books to my nieces and nephews. It is a wonderful way to share the gospel. I give them the books before Christmas with hot chocolate & a candy cane. I then get to snuggle up with them and be the first to read (& explain) the story and what it means to me. {"Mortimer's Christmas Manger" by Karma Wilson is a favourite and good for reading aloud to a large group.}
Christmas brings so many fond memories. When we were small the “cousins” would sit around the tree as an adult read the Christmas story from the bible (my favorite book). One year my unchurched cousin chimes in with “Oh, I get it…its not really all about Santa and the gifts” I will never forget that Christmas!
I’m in!! lOVE the Christms Story.
The Chrsitmas Story and we always read in the Bible of Jesus birth and discuss it
When my husband and I started dating he was not a Christian.. I knew he was the one God had for me and I just kept praying that he would start attending church with me and come to Christ. I never pushed it because I knew that would just push him away more. It was getting to the point where I was questioning if I should continue dating him or break it off because he wasn’t attending church. Then one Sunday right around Thanksgiving he surprised me and came to church with me and has been attending ever since. He had shared shortly after that Sunday that after a sermon he had heard that he realized he had never had a personal relationship with Christ. He knew who Christ was and had attended church as a child but had never prayed to accept Him. He prayed to accept Christ that day and was baptized a few years later.
I love The Crippled Lamb! It always makes me cry! I’m in!
Thanks for sharing that story. My hope has always been that as we celebrated His birth someone would have a new birth. I so love Christmas and celebrating the One that came from Heaven for us. Blessings.
I like the Christmas Story and The Kneeling Santa
I’m in. I love the Christmas story!
The night before Christmas is my favorite.
Growing up before we opened presents on Christmas Eve, my dad would read the Christmas story from Luke 2. Still my favorite story and tradition. Since his passing my husband reads it now before we open gifts with our kids. We also do a daily devotional the month of December that reflects on Christ’s birth and our kids look forward to doing it each night. During the month of December we also put out all of our books relating to Christmas and put them out to read each night. Some of our favorites…God Gave us Christmas by Lisa Tawn Bergren, We Believe in Christmas by Karen Kingsbury, Merry Christmas Curious George, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and this year we’re looking forward to reading the newest addition to our collection, One Wintry Night by Ruth Bell Graham.
What an awesome story and Christmas memory!
What a beautiful Christmas memory! I really don’t have a favorite Christmas book, but I love the twelve voices of Christmas (think it is like a play).
I’m in!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
We haven’t gotten our Christmas boxes out of the crawl space yet, but my favorite Christmas book is one of the kids’. It has baby Jesus with nice pictures of the animals on Christmas.
I’m in!!!!
I’m in! I can’t think of a time when someone came to Christ at Christmas but I love Micca’s story. It brought tears to my eyes. I’m not thinking of a book right now, but I’ve been listening to Mandisa’s song Christmas Makes Me Cry. It says, “I cry tears of joy at Christmas because I know there is peace on earth for every heart to find…..” I thought of this song while reading Micca’s story.
I love the tradition my mom has started with the Christmas story. Each year she tries to find a version of it written by different authors. It is usually a children’s book but the simplicity of the story written for children is great!
Definitely the Christmas story!
I’m in!!!
It’s so hard to pick just one favorite Christmas book. Two of my favorites are The Christmas List and The Christmas Box. Both of these books are written by Richard Paul Evans.
Wow… this was such a beautiful story to start the day with… I really hope someday I get an opportunity to witness this way and realize it is an opportunity!

I’m in. Thanks for the great story.
What a beautiful testimony, Micca! I’d like to share that my brother, Billy, gave his life to Christ two Sunday’s ago. I was present to see his baptism this past Sunday. All I can say is God is soo good – and ALL the glory and praise be to Him! I can just imagine how much rejoycing takes place in Heaven when a Soul is won for His Kingdom. Jesus’ misson was clear when God sent Him here on that beautiful Christmas morning – He came to seek and save that which is lost. And even now – the Power of the Holy Spirit is at work, with that same mission. Merry Christmas!
I do not have a memory of anyone coming to accept Christ during Christmas – but I would like to share that my 8 year old son, Tyler, in April of this year went to our pastor all by himself and told him that he was ready to ask Jesus into his heart! I knew nothing of it. He came to me and told me that Brother Terry needed to speak with me – of course, the mother in me just knew he was in trouble for something! I went to find Brother Terry to see what he needed and he explained to me that he had spoken with Tyler about being baptized. He said he asked him what it meant – Tyler answered all questions with much determination and honesty! We are members of a Methodist Church and it is normal practice to “sprinkle not a dunk”. When I was explaining to him what would happen and told him that Brother Terry would put some holy water in his hand and place it on his head, he got very upset and told me that he had to go under the water like Jesus did! Of course, our pastor had no problem with that at all. It was one of the proudest days of my life!! May God bless everyone!
Chiestmas books is the crippled lamb by max lacuda. I boght this for my children and now that they are grown I am saving it for my grand children. I love childrens Christmas books and I love to read them to the kids in my family this time of the year.
My great-grandmother once gave me a book called “Two From Galilee.” It’s a fictionalized account of Mary, Joseph, and everything leading up to Jesus’ birth. I first read it when I was about 13, and I’ll never forget being shocked that Mary might have been about my age …. that she might have feared losing Joseph, a man she might have loved … that she was a girl just like me. I try to read it again every few years. It always helps put into perspective that God uses regular people like us.
I am SO EXCITED to have been introduced to this amazing group of women by a wonderful friend of mine. She first shared one of MiccaCampbell’s posts with me and I was instantly hooked. I am so grateful for the Godly insite and guidance they share!!!! Thank You, Ladies!!!
What a touching story. My good friend recently lost her father & though she has doubt my faith & not been interested when I have said I would pray for her, she called me the morning after her father passed & asked if I could teacher her how to make way for Christ in her life. I hope she is able to truly be saved this Christmas.
I am in!!! I love the christmas story
What an amazing testimony. I’m in!

I don’t have a memory of someone coming to faith during the holidays but I have always stressed to my children the importance of the holidays being about the Birth of Jesus and not just about the gift and tree. I see so many other people posting about the book “the Crippled Lamb”, I am going to have to check it out. THanks for giving me a chance to win.
Each year for the past many years, we’ve had an Advent calendar that we do with our kids. The first year, Grandpa and Grandma filled the little bags with trinkets and gifted this to our then very young children. Imagine their delight as each day they got to open a little bag and find a treasure…a coin, an eraser, a small piece of chocolate
As they grew, so did the “little” trinkets. One year, in an attempt to share the real meaning of the holidays, my husband and I decided to put slips of paper in many of the bags with “tasks” written on them. Visit the nursing home, bake cookies one day and deliver them to our neighbors the next. Shovel snow for our older, divorced neighbor (my kids loved this one so much that we shoveled her snow most of the winter every year after!). One year we didn’t put some of these things in the calendar and the kids asked for them to always be part of it! They are now 13 and 10 1/2 and I just filled the Advent calendar and put it up last night after they were in bed. And guess what? Most of those “tasks” are nesting in a little bag, just waiting to be opened
I’m in. I haven’t had the opportunity to bring someone to the Lord, except my children and I didn’t really know what I was doing. Pretty sure I messed that up, but I can say they all know God, they don’t always make Godly decisions in their lives, but I do believe they all KNOW Him. So for that I am blessed!!! The only Christmas story I know if THE Christmas story.
Ace Collins writes the best Christmas books

My favorite Christmas book is Small One. Its a childrens story about a little donkey that a farmer gets rid of because he is worthless and can not work on the farm very well. They sell the donkey and he ends up being bought by Joseph and carries Mary. Such a sweet story and reminder that no matter how big or small God has a special purpose for us.
Wonderful! That story was so touching. I like “The ADVENTure of Christmas”! So many great ideas along with the stories behind the stories!
I love the story The Crippled Lamb!

Just a couple of weeks ago a young girl gave her heart to Jesus in our Wednesday night Kids’ Club! Praising the Lord!
The best Christmas story is the original story of Jesus and his birth. I never tire of hearing that wonderful news.
Wow! Day 2 already. My daughter brought home her homemade Advent wreath from school yesterday. I love these things about the holidays!

I don’t know anyone who came to Christ at Christmastime and I don’t have a favorite Christmas book, although the story of the birth of Christ in the Bible is a favorite. Thanks for the chance to win.

My favorite memory of one coming to the LORD at the holidays is that of my youngest son. Two weeks prior to Christmas we were sitting in the service and he was a little more clingy than other days. At the time of the invitation he was practically pushing a hole in my side and fidgeting. I leaned down to ask him what was wrong and he said I need to talk to you outside. We went and found a little cubby hole behind the sanctuary and he gave his heart to Christ. As he shared with others about his decision he declared that for Christmas he was being baptized. We were hoping that the pastor would not delay until after Christmas and he didn’t. So in the church decorated for Christmas my little boy gave Jesus the present of his heart and celebrated with baptism the Sunday of Celebrating the Ultimate Gifts birth.
We have many favorite Christmas books. In fact, after reading a Family Fun article years ago, we wrap our Christmas books and open one every day until Christmas. Even though my kids are now 17 and 12, they still enjoy this Christmas tradition at our home.

My favorite Christmas book is Jan Karon’s “Shepherds Abiding” from the Mitford series.

My favorite book is ” The Christmas Box” by Richard Paul Evans. I read it last night!!
My favorite Christmas stories do not actually come from books about Christmas. Although it should probably hurt my pride to admit it, my favorite book series remains Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie series. I received the first book in the series from “Santa” when I was a child, and immediately fell in love. One of my favorite things about the series is that, in each of the books, there is always an account of Christmas in the Ingalls or Wilder homes. Compared to today, these Christmas celebrations are so modest and simple, but so full of love. I suppose that I love these stories so much because they bring me back down to earth, reminding me that, even though it’s so easy to get caught-up in the “hustle and bustle,” Christmas is a time for celebrating the things that we often take for granted: our families and the precious gift of Jesus Christ to this lost and broken world.
I love reading the story of Jesus’ birth straight from the Bible. My children love me reading to them – Twas the night before Christmas every Christmas Eve.

Hi I am in!!! Christmas is my favorite time of year–so hard to think of a favorite. Thanks and blessings!! Barb
Although it wasn’t at Christmas time, I had the privilege of leading my mom to the Lord about a month before she passed away. What a sweet reassurance that I will see her again someday. Thanks for sharing, Micca.
I’m so in, ha ha!
My favorite christmas story is “A Christmas Carol” I grew up watching it every year & I still do, even as an adult! I love the way Scrooge changed & acted as if everyday is Christmas ~ he became the happiest man ever, giving to everyone & everyone loved him at the end. “God bless us, everyone!” We should all act like he did, with Christ in our hearts, swelling with so much love that conquers all!
Micca, your story about leading Cody to Christ on Christmas is so beautiful! I wanted to hear more of the story! Did he graduate? Go into the military? God works in such amazing ways. All we have to do is put our trust in Him.
Thank you for the fun giveaway, and for sharing your story.
What a beautiful salvation story about Cody! Brock & Bodie Thoene have written a series of books on the life of Christ ~ the A.D. Chronicles. Books 4-6 are about Advent and they are well researched and written. My children are old enough this year that it is what I’ve chosen to read to them over the next month or so. Highly recommend “Fourth Dawn”, “Fifth Seal”, and “Sixth Covenant”.
I have never been able to experience someone coming to Christ on Christmas. One of my favorite Christmas “books” is the TV adaptation of Little House on the Prarie’s first Christmas. Watching that still brings tears to my eyes.
Count me in please! My favorite Christmas Story is The Christmas Jar.
I have lots of favorite Christmas stories but the one that I am really enjoying this year is The Elf on the Shelf Tradition that we have started with our two girls. It is great to see the excitement and joy in their faces when they wake in the morning to find their Elves Sally and Lily caught up in some sort of mischief. I am also excited to incorporate bible verse into their daily advent calendar. I found a great link on Pinterest with a Christmas Scripture Tradition http://go.tipjunkie.com/ch/396/printable.tipjunkie.com/christmas-scripture-tradition/
and my favorite find is a little some this the elves are going to leave my girls, to leave for Santa, a magic key with the following poem:
Dear Santa, This magic key works just for you, Please open the door and come on through. Thank you for coming to our house tonight. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Thank you Santa for the gifts you bring. Thank you Lord for everything.

Our family Christmas tradition is to talk about and read the Bible Christmas story….but then I also have the “antique” Twas the Night Before Christmas storybook that I had as a child.
My kids love to see the old illustrations and pictures. The binding has some tape and some pages are torn….but for us, it is a special storybook.
Many great Christmas books — my favorite is any I can read to my grandchildren.

Twas the Night before Christmas and the story of our saviours birth from the bible!

I like the book Room for a Little One: A Christmas Tale.

Wow..I love Cameron. And thegiveaway.
We had the privledge to host two foreign exchange students from China in our home for 9 days during Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience! They were so loving and were just little “sponges” trying to absorb everything they could. We tried in every way to share the love of Christ to them, through our actions and our words. They are not believers, yet, but keep them in your prayers. We will continue to plug into their lives!
My friend Barbara read the book The Three Trees to our church group one Christmas. I love the story of how God fulfills our dreams – if we choose to see that he has done so. He fulfills them in ways we don’t expect. The Three Trees tops my list of favorite Christmas books, as does Charles Dickens Christmas Carol.
We love reading the Christmas Story from the Bible.
My niece who is almost 20, when she was 11 she got saved near Christmas Day.
She and I along with my daughter, was at a place that was helping families with food, clothes and Christmas gifts. A Pastor there was asking if anyone would like to ask Jesus into their hearts. My niece had been going to church and learning about Christ. I kept praying that one day she would accept HIM as her personal savior. That day, we had just prayed and prayed. When the Pastor asked, She went right up to him and said “I want to ask Jesus into my heart, ask for forgiveness for my sins and let HIM be my savior” I will never forget that day. She is a wonderful Christian Young Lady. She got baptized a few weeks later at our church.
I have never had the privilege of bringing anyone to Christ at Christmas but what a blessing that would be! I also don’t have a favorite Christmas story, of course the birth of Jesus is the most important and comforting story! I have never heard of the Crippled Lamb and am going to find that for my kids!!
In December of 1981, I accepted Christ as my Savior and was baptized that same day. Ten years later, My daughter did the same!
I like ”The Christmas Box” by Richard Paul Evans. And the movie version is pretty good too. Thanks for your great story again today!
Jacob’s Gift by Max Lucado……..absolutely love this one……I read this with my children, brought tears to my eyes…….
I wish I had a favorite memory of someone coming to faith on Christmas, how awesome that must have been! My favorite Christmas book is Christmas Socks, by Andy Andrews. Have a blessed day!
Please count me in too!
Blessings,
Janet W.
The best Christmas story is from the Living Word. God came to earth in the form of a baby to identify with man. He was the lamb of God who took away the sins of the world in order that we would be able to contact God in a personal way. Without the removal of our sins this was impossible. Jesus paved the way by taking our sins upon Himself as He was righteous and a man without sin yet contained divinity as well. I never get tired of hearing this story!
Count me in.
No favorite Christmas book – I like most all Christmas stories!! Count me in!!!
Loved this story! It’s amazing the miracles that happen at Christmas time. Of course they happen everyday, but it seems even more so around Christ’s birthday!

I’m in! I had read Micca’s story of Cody coming to Christ before. As I started to read the story today, I got goosebumps just like the first time I had read it. Thanks for sharing.

When my now 25-year-old daughter was 9, our church sponsored a parents’ night out for Christmas shopping near the beginning of December. While my husband and I were out shopping, one of our dear friends was sharing the Gospel with Callie at the parents’ night out. She was saved that night and baptized on Christmas Eve!
Favorite Christmas book…right now I’m reading The Day Christ Was Born. Great book!

I love the Christmas in my Heart series by Joe Wheeler. They are a compilation of old and new Christmas stories.
