I love reading stories of lives changed because of Christ.

Whether it is the apostle Paul, who once persecuted Christians, turning into a bold believer or my son’s new friend David (whom he met at a gas station) who recently left a life of drugs and sin for a life lived scouring and devouring his new Bible and learning about God in church each Sunday.

Young Christians excite me.

They are eager.

They are fearless.

They are authentically fresh.

They haven’t been trained to give “Sunday School” answers or rattle off a list of legalistic “dos and don’ts” without having a clue what the Bible really says about them, only what they have been told “real Christians” believe.

They also seem to have a genuine quality about them that I find incredible— and sadly often lacking in the lives of believers who have walked long with Christ–(me included!) It is this:

They read the Bible and it changes their life.

The woman, a new believer, who reads that adultery is a sin–and then promptly moves out of her boyfriend’s home although she has no placed to go.

The once tax-cheating businessman who reads God’s word one day and becomes so convicted that he figures out how much he owes the IRS by his cheating and pays it back.

I stumbled across one such person recently.

First I saw her on the national news.

Then my friends Courtney and Clare were able to have dinner with her.

Last week, she and I met (via email) and I discovered a bold young Christian who recently one day read her Bible and it changed her behavior.

She read that her body was to be for her husband’s eyes only. (Perhaps not a verse too hard for a middle-aged mom like me to obey. You know, make sure my summer shorts aren’t too revealing and such.)

For her, however, reading this scripture with the intention of obeying meant she would need to walk away from some activities in her life.

Oh yeah, and from a LOT of money.

You see she was a Victoria’s Secret model.

She’s not anymore.

Meet Kylie Bisutti:

Kylie– how did you first get started modeling?

I first started modeling at age 14. My mom any out some headshots of me to local agencies and I got picked up by one. They sent me to Thailand, Japan, and I moved to New York by myself at age 16.

What caused you to begin to think you might want to stop taking on certain jobs that you felt were in conflict with your faith?

God works in His children in His timing. I wasn’t even convicted about certain jobs five years ago that I’m convicted about now. He is just continuing to mold me and shape me into His image and it’s a daily thing.

Christ opened my eyes to the fact that I wasn’t honoring Him or my husband by modeling in lingerie and other things. He showed me through His word how to change and He completely reshaped the desires of my heart that were not centered on Him two years ago.

How have others responded to your decision– both those in your family and circle of friends and those in the industry?

All of my friends and family love my decision and are so thankful to God that He has changed my ways.

I have gotten a few negative responses from people in the modeling industry, but no matter what choices people make in life there will always be someone out there who doesn’t agree.

I know you’ve said publicly that you want to be a role model for young girls. What is the most important piece of advice you want to relay to them?

Christ is the ultimate role model, so I’m just striving to live in His image and hope that other girls will see what that looks like. I want girls to see themselves as Christ sees them, for their hearts; their inner beauty and not their outward appearance.

WOW! Kylie’s decision has rattled the modeling world.

As I have viewed some of her on-air interviews, I have been impressed with how she says that reading her Bible was what made her leave behind modeling articles that were too revealing.

Some people who say they are believers, when finding out she has been a Christian for a few years but only recently became so convicted she walked off the runway of immodesty, have chosen to criticize; to finger-point or slam publicly with cutting comments on websites.

I actually was very convicted by her actions.

How many of us who have been believers for YEARS do what she did–read our Bible and then make a change let alone one that costs us friendships, status or money?

No, we read  about having a gentle tongue…..and then close our Bibles and a few minutes later snap at a family member with a cutting tongue instead.

We read we are not to gossip…and then we hop on the phone to “discuss” another person with a friend, cloaked cleverly as a prayer request of course.

We read…..but we don’t always change.

This gal read and then was changed.

When I grow up, I want to be more like her!

Since I am featuring Kylie today, I have asked two friends, both in the fashion industry, if they would offer a giveaway of their books and they agreed.

The first is Good Girls Don’t Have to Dress Bad by fashion expert Shari Braendel

The second is Fashioned by Faith by model Rachel Lee Carter of Modeling Christ.

To be entered to win a signed copy (we’ll give away a couple of each book), leave a comment of encouragement or a prayer for Kylie here (she has been under attack big time!) or tell us what your greatest fashion challenge is.

Mine currently is trying to fit the pant legs of my jeans into the trendy boots my daughter got me for Christmas. She told me I need to lose the boot-cuts and get me some skinny jeans!

Ok—leave your comment!

Please note: We kindly ask that you keep your comments to the areas specified above. We realize that there are still many pictures out floating on the Internet that Kylie wishes she could remove but she simply can’t. And remember please, we are talking today about letting the Bible alter our actions not debating definitions of modesty. Thanks!

Share and Enjoy!

      Kylie, dear sister in Christ,

Even though what some people may say about you and to you may hurt, please remember that it is only God’s opinion and view of us that truly matters. You are an inspiration to me, who also strives to be obedient to God and His Word.
      Thank you for your example!
      God Bless you!

Kylie, Thank you so much for sharing your story. I know you will encourage others to step out in faith and leave behind the desires of their hearts when it conflicts with the desires of His heart. I will be praying for any critics… that they will come to see Jesus in you. Blessings, LeAnn

    • Friend and sister,
If I could only tell you how proud I am to call you my sister in Christ. I have felt those fiery darts, not from the unbelieving world, but by Christians. You have angered Satan and he will use anything or anyone he can to derail what God has begun. Yet, Jesus always wins. And so will you. Remember, that those who attempt to scorn and harm you are a very small minority. I know it hurts (I experienced it after my Family Life Today broadcast.) Allow those messages to keep you humble. You have impacted so many lives! Contact me anytime, Rachel Lee Carter

    • I am so challenged and encouraged by Kylie and her commitment and obedience! I plan to share her story with my daughters, who are young in years and growing in faith. Thank you for sharing this powerful article! Go Spirit! God is glorified in Kylie’s witness!

    • Teresa W says:

Kylie, my prayer for you is that you will continue to keep the faith and conviction through the “storm” of critics. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you!! I hope it includes mentoring teen girls :) I am sharing your story with my 16 year old daughter this afternoon when she comes home from school. May God continue to bless you on your journey!!

    • Meagan says:

I think what Kylie has done is incredibly brave and courageous and shows strength that could only God could provide. I am so thankful that God has chosen to use Kylie to reach out to young girls as well as people in the modeling industry to show them God’s love. I know God has great things in store for Kylie and I look forward to following her journey!

    • Lisa Buchanan says:

Praying for you Kylie…….stand strong! My biggest fashion faux pas is lack of money -therefore wearing the same things day in and day out! UGH!

    • Ellen says:

Making changes that actually cost us something demonstrate true obedience to God. Thank you, Kylie, for showing us that it is doable. I know that God will bless you for your decision to follow Him.

    • Sarah Martin says:

      Kylie!
You are gorgeous inside and out and such an inspiration to me as I read your story. Stay strong and stay true to your Lord that you obviously love so dearly. Know that there is a band of women who have your back. I love that you stood up and stood strong and will be praying for you!!

    • Sheri says:

      Dear Kylie,

Wow. I am absolutely humbled by your obedience. I have been a life long Christian and have just recently delved back into the Bible as a result of working through the Made to Crave book and devotions. While I started the book with “weight loss” in mind in the pursuit of that perfect, model bod, God began dealing with me on other levels ENTIRELY! While I strive to commit to healthy changes and more family time, I find most nights as I look back on my day I have failed to truly sacrifice those things that God wants to change and mold to suit his purposes.

To read your humble answers and see your committed spirit has offered me a fantastic hope to continue to listen and obey. You are such a blessing to me and I am thankful for your obedient heart.

Take heart sister, I am praying for you and with you. You are not alone.

    • Karen T. says:

Praying for Kylie as she continues to honor God!

    • Brenda Chase says:

Kylie, I applaud you for your conviction and your courage in standing up for your beliefs. You are in my prayers. God bless you, girl!

    • Joyce says:

Kylie, I saw your story on Good Morning America and immediately prayed the Lord would bless you for your obedience and sustain you through the criticism you would receive from those who don’t understand what it means to be transformed by the Word. May the Lord bless your marriage continually. Thank you for taking a bold stand for Jesus and being so inspiring!!

    • Amy Carroll says:

Kylie, my heart breaks when I see the disconnect in the church (and even in my own life) between what we say we believe and how we live. Thank you for embracing the cost and facing your critics to show all of us what it looks like to bridge that gap and live gloriously consistent. Intimacy with Jesus is the goal and its own reward!

    • Andie says:

I shared your story with our Bible study group last week as we were discussing Biblical beauty. What an inspiration and blessing to moms out there to have a “real-life model” they can show to their daughters as an example of how to dress and why. Thank you Kylie for allowing God’s word to change your heart. May God strengthen you as you walk out your faith.

    • Donna Harvey says:

Kylie God will bless your obedience. His blessing will far out weigh all that you have given up in material needs. And you will be a huge influence on girls today who need your encourage in a big way1 Many blessings to you. Rememeber, YOU are God’s trophy! Donna

    • Jean H says:

It is sometimes easy to give up something that doesn’t hit the pocket book. It was a brave a thing to stand up for what God spoke to her heart about!!

    • Ashley Key says:

What an encouragement! Kylie, keep holding your head high! God is faithful and will reward you for the secret choices you make to honor Him. I think it’s awesome that a lingerie model would feel so convicted as to leave her line of work to make a stand. Don’t let anyone discourage you for your choices in Christ! For as many people out there who will criticize you, there are 10 times more of us who will admire you! Thank you for your courage!

    • Heather says:

Kylie, You made a very bold and courageous decision. You did exactly what I heard in a song at church Sunday, “Only trust and follow and leave the rest up to Him.” What an example for all of us! I will pray that you continue to follow Christ with that boldness (and that I will, too!).

    • Kelly Lake says:

Hi Kylie, thank you for taking a stand for the Lord and His word, I admire you greatly! May God bless and honor you in all your days ahead! You are truly an encouragement to me!

    • Edith says:

Thank you Kylie for being such a good example to women everywhere. God is changing us little by little and the good news is that He is perfecting us. As it says in Phil 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete [it] until the day of Jesus Christ;” Praise the Lord we are confident of this! My prayer is that He will empower you (with the same power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead) to continue to be bold for the Lord.

    • Nicole says:

      Hi Kylie,
I think that it is wonderful that you have allowed the Lord to mold your convictions and shape you into the person He wants you to become. I’d like to encourage you to continue to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus and let your light shine before all men that they may see our Father and glorify Him. Keep pressing, praying, believing, and standing for Christ! You are an example to many girls who would find themselves in an industry that seems riddled with compromise. They will stand strong because of your example that has gone before them. Keep standing; and having done all to stand, stand therefore having your loins girded with truth, your feed shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, with your helmet of salvation, your breast plate of righteousness, His word- the sword of the spirit, and your shield of faith.

    • Lisa says:

Dear Lord, I thank you for being in Kylie’s life. Continue to walk with her as she follows you. Her decision is not one that is easy and I really thank you for giving her the opportunity to see your Glory and the rewards that will come with being a role model for our young ladies. Please continue to watch over her and continue to give her the right words to say.

      In Jesus Name,
      Amen

    • Anne Lewis says:

      Kylie,
I lift you up today and ask God to continue to strengthen you and to bathe you in His love. May He engrave in your heart and mind that His approval is the only one that truly matters. I celebrate with Him that you have taken a stand to believe Him no matter what it may cost you on this earth. You are an inspiration for all of us!

    • Logan says:

I am always grateful for strong women who set such a good example for those of us who are still trying to find out way. Way to go, Kylie! I’m proud to “know” you and thank you for standing up for yourself and your God.

    • Mary Beth Bradshaw says:

      Sweet Kylie,

I am so proud of you and your courage. Keep on listening to the voice of Jesus and not the rantings of the critics. Even Jesus had critics from so called ‘religious’ communities, but he kept listening to the Father and focusing on HIS voice. What a testimony you are to all of us…. young and old(er) :o ) alike. My 17 year old daughter will be so encouraged by your story as she finds in a CHRISTIAN school that modesty and living by Godly standards often breeds contempt. THANK YOU and Luke 6:37-39 comes to my heart in regards to your naysayers and believing v.38 for you:
      Judging Others
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

    • Rosemarie says:

Kylie, congratulations on taking a stand for Christ. And letting women of all ages know that are bodies are a temple. So how we dress, how we look and how we nourish our bodies is all for the glory of God and not this world. God bless you and the daring move you made.

    • Dot says:

      Kylie,

God will richly reward you with treasures in heaven, treasures that will last for an eternity. Know that God will bless you for your obedience. You are an inspiration. Your stand for God is opening doors for His word to spread throughout the world. There is no telling what God is going to do because of your willingness to obey Him. I am proud of you and your stand for Christ. Keep the faith.

      Dot

    • Rachel Olsen says:

Beautiful decision flowing from a beautiful heart that is being formed by God. Praises to God! And hugs to our sister Kylie.

    • Nita says:

      Kylie,
I saw your interview on one of the morning shows and I am glad that I have an opportunity to thank you for sharing your convictions. I mentor a group of 20 something girls and was able to share your story with them right after seeing the interview. Now I will be able to send this link to them and our teenage girls. Girls need a role model like you! thank you so much for being faithful! May the lord bless you as you share your story.
      Nita

    • Amy Lee says:

Wow, Kylie, I am so proud of you! That must have been a difficult decision for you, and you chose to follow your heart to live out God’s will. You are a great role model, not just for young girls, but women of all ages.

      Thanks you!

    • Jo says:

Go girl! We have been studying for a few months now in our women’s bible sudy at church about APPLYING what we learn, what we know is right, what is truth! Lord help me to do as you have done and let Him speak to me and be obedient! God bless you!

    • Jeannine C. says:

      Hi Kylie,
Your decision is not only important to women but to men too! Isn’t it men who make the success of sexy and or inappropriate dress. My husband who is a Christian and faithful feels there isn’t really anything wrong with a woman dressy sexy, when out with her husband, but I have never felt comfortable in exposure clothing and I press on, he’ll have to just love me for what he sees at home, because when we are out I dress classy and covered. Someday he’ll appreciate it haha, but seriously, if more women made the decision you have made, men may change their idea of what is important too. thank you:) Jeannine, St. Louis, Missouri

    • Bethany says:

Kylie, I applaud you for your conviction and your courage in standing up for your beliefs. in a world where young women are consonantly getting bombarded with images of who their body’s should look and what they should where it nice to see someone like you stand up for you beliefs.
some time s its hard to remember that Jesus and Jesus alone can tell us who we are and it so great to see you living it! thank you! You are in my prayers. God bless you, <3

    • Laura says:

      Kylie –
It helps this mom to read stories about you and your obedience and faith to step out. My teenage daughter needs more role models like you!
Adding you to my prayer list right now…

    • Becca W. says:

Thank you Kylie! For being a young woman of faith. For hearing God’s whisper that said to change. For being a young lady that is now a godly example for our young daughters. Thank you!!!

Your story brought me to tears of joy and conviction. You have provided a story that I plan to share with my daughters as I teach them about God’s plan for our bodies and what the world would have us to portray. I am proud of you and proud of the walk you have with our Lord!!

    • Beverly says:

What I think about fashion is that I want to dress age appropriate (age 57) as well as fashionable. I don’t think God’s girls should look frumpy or that they have to dress like their Granny used to. In fact, I think it speaks well of Him when we look our best. I applaud this courageous lady and her stand for Christ. He grows us – it’s a process. We are constantly being changed by Him to look more like Him, but He is God and we are not so we will never be perfect here. The fact that it took her a while to get to this place is just “leaving (one of) those things behind” that does not represent Christ. Who of us does not have things we have had to leave behind and still have things we need to leave behind. I say Amen and Amen!

    • Rosey says:

      Kylie,
You are such an inspiration!! I will be sharing your story with my youth group girls at our next girls only study. To have a role model who lives their faith visibly is such a fantastic thing for these young girls.

Also, my husband and I will share your story with our sons as well. What an incredible example of a Godly wife! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Probably most importantly, you are an incredible example to me. It can be so hard being surrounded by worldly images of beauty and fashion. It often can seep into my desires and become a priority over the much more important ones, Godly ones. I want to honor my husband in all things. Thank you for being an incredible example and role model to me!! God be with you!!

My fashion struggle is…being fashionable! We live on a farm and I have young children (one breastfeeding), both of which do not compliment fashion! :)

    • Staci M says:

I am VERY impressed with Kylie’s decision. I only wish I would be as bold. Your post today convicted me in many areas of my life. I need to get BOLD!!!

    • Marianne Gill says:

This young lady should be encouraged that God will open many windows for her faithfulness!! So proud of the stand she is taking for the Lord and hopefully it will influence more young women that you don’t have to expose flesh to be beautiful :-)

    • Meredith R says:

I heard about Kylie’s story last month online and was SO encouraged by the stand she took to leave an area of her life that God had told her to leave. Kylie, praying for you as you continue to stand for Him and encourage young women everywhere! The Lord does look at our hearts, and that’s what we should focus on, although it is so hard not to want to look appealing on the outside. (especially us single ladies!) My greatest fashion challenge is swim suits… they are of the devil! haha

    • Christine says:

So inspiring, Kylie. Thank you so much for living out your convictions. As a woman, wife, and mother, I wish more women would understand the importance of modesty and how all the sexual images out there are such a temptation to men and so hurtful to other women. God bless you! Stand strong in the face of the criticism – you are doing what’s right and that is often the opposite of what society thinks is right!

    • Jeanne says:

      Kylie,
Thank you so much for having the courage to stand up for your convictions. I have three teenage girls who are, whether I like to admit it or not, influenced by the media. I am looking forward to sharing your story with them.

    • Tristi says:

I think it took a lot of courage to take a stand for God! It’s hard to swim against the flow. Way to set an example, Kylie. If we could all just look at taking the baby steps we need to take in God’s direction, they might prepare us to be able to take those big steps down the road. (On a side note, I’ve heard Shari speak and have her book – she has wise words!)

    • Jenny C. says:

Dearest Kylie, It always helps me and encourages me to remember that I am living my life and making my choices to please an “audience of ONE” which is the Lord Jesus Christ! May the Lord give you strength and help as you live to honor Him. God bless you sweet sister, Jenny C.

    • Cammi H says:

Wow! As the Academy Awards come to a close and everyone is saying what they like/don’t like about all of the fashion, I applaud you, Kylie , and your decision to get away from that! You are beautiful and how hard it would be to leave that “glamorous” life for a belief! I wish more people would at least use their notoriety and set a better example.. J Lo, Angelina, cameron Diaz. … Women on the Red Carpet that could make a statement for good! I hope you continue to set a great example, Kylie. Show the world you can be, and ARE, a beautiful Christian woman!

    • Dawn says:

Kylie- what a beautiful picture of obedience you are! You are the exact right person in the exact right place “for such a time as this”! Our world is sooo sexualized- even the checkout line at the grocery store is risky, putting the wrong message right at the eye level of our children. You are a strong, strong woman and I am so inspired by you. You can be sure that I will share your message every chance I get and that I will lift you up in prayer for the kingdom work you are doing. :)

    • Lori says:

In our current culture of placing more worth on the outside appearance of a person, many lives will be changed because of Kylie’s testimony. Kylie, thank you and God bless you for “stepping outside of the boat.” More of us need to be willing to do that…myself included.

    • Nikki says:

Thank you, Kylie! You know you are doing the right thing when the persecution comes. Stand firm in God and the knowledge that you have many sisters praying for you. Blessings!

    • Lana says:

How awesome is this story!!! So blessed by your faith, your obedience and the truth that youre bringing to women of all ages! Thank you for sharing your testimony! Im a 26 yr old mom who loves Jesus but sometimes struggles with my body image! You are encouraging me to disect my heart and focus on developing inner beauty instead of being bummed out if I dont have the greatest body!! I look forward to hearing more about you & more importantly spending more time in my bible so I can also begin to make bold changes in the name of Jesus!

    • Deena K says:

Kylie you are awesome! Praying for you in your walk with Christ!!!

    • Earlene Nojd says:

Thank you for the role model you are for my grandgirls! It’s so important to all of us that girls feel great about themselves in a Godly manner!

    • Carol says:

Kylie – God bless you for standing up for what you believe in. I admire your courage!

    • Kylie, You are a beautiful young woman inside & out- shining for God in a very public way. I wish you blessings and a future filled with exciting choices.
2 Timothy 1:8 “So you must never be embarrassed to tell others about our Lord.”
Karen, I would love to win a book that I can share with my daughter as she finishes high school and heads off to college in the fall. Thanks for the opportunity.

    • Shannon says:

Kylie, I think the stance you have taken is great! You are strong and I am proud of you for standing up for what you believe in — God!

    • Jennifer says:

Kylie, thank you so much for your example of picking up your cross and following Him. It’s beautiful. You have many supports who are so proud of you. Keep going, girl! It’s your example that we want young girls to follow.

    • Janice says:

      Kylie,
Thank you for your stand for Christ and was you believe in. You are an inspiration to me and I pray God continues to bless your life…..

    • Kylie,
Thank you for sharing your story! I’m celebrating with you and want you to know that I’m praying for you today.

When the criticism comes from others, just remember to trust in the LORD with all of your heart and don’t try to figure things out on your own. In all your ways, continue to look to Him and He will certainly guide the path before you. I know in my heart that He will bless you abundantly for your willingness to radically obey Him. You inspire all of us today!

      Be blessed,
      Leah DiPascal

    • Crystal says:

Kylie – thank you for your courage, and for being a role model and inspiration to all who hear your story. I have been a Christian for almost 40 years, and I am still constantly challenged by God’s word to make changes in my life. I truly believe that if He showed us everything we needed to change all at once, it would be too overwhelming and discouraging. Baby steps work. :)
I have a number of fashion challenges, but my two greatest ones are related to pants. One is that I have a smallish waist relative to the size of my lower abdomen and hips thanks to birthing three babies, so if they fit my belly and hips, they are quite large at the waist. Belts do not seem to work to fix this problem as they just cause the tops of the pants to get really bunched up. The other problem is length. I am too tall for petite length, but too short for regular length. My middle child says they should make pants for those of us who are 5’3″ and call them regtites. My husband doesn’t understand why they don’t size women’s pants like they do men’s pants – by waist and inseam measurements.

    • Dede Thies says:

      Kylie!
You are such an inspiration and encouragement! My bathing suit and lingerie “body” has always been a focal point of my insecurities even before 3 kids and a horrifying, emergency surgery for the last one. Being a Christian all of my life, I would have considered myself “modest”. However, after reading your story, I would have to say that I honestly asked myself that if I looked fantastic and someone wanted me in Victoria’s Secret….. would I stand up for my beliefs as you did or make “excuses” that this was my job and so on and so on! WOW! You are so cool! I love it and I pray this has made women ask themselves the toughest question because we all deal with physical insecurities! You are a wonderful example!
      God Bless you always, Dede

    • Elizabeth says:

      Kylie,
God Bless you…your courage is a wonderful example for young women. As a mother of a 17 year old daughter, your stance is applauded. I share this quote: Sacrifice is giving up something good for something better. Great choice!

    • Cindy P says:

Kudos to Kylie! I wish there were more women like you out there! Praise the Lord!! Your role model is so important and thank you for doing so publicly. Thank you Kylie!!

    • kay says:

I am so impressed. Your decision was such a public one and costly in the world’s standards, but what you’ve done for the kingdom is immense. You’ve encouraged others to stand firm to what the Spirit is urging them to do and you’ve opened the eyes of some young girls and given them someone to look up to. Following God’s Word at the time when His Word convicted you was the perfect plan for you – thank you for obeying.

    • Phyllis says:

Oh my gosh!!! I was at a women’s seminar over the weekend and one of the breakout sessions was titled “What Not to Wear”. The presenter used these books as references and it was awesome. I was just going to research them and download them to my kindle fire. I am in a struggle right now with body image and my weight etc. It’s a struggle. I have never been as heavy as I am right now (unless I was pregnant) and am struggling with motivation and how I look. I am in the process of reading Made to Crave. I am excited to try and get the books and read them as part of my motivation to be the person God wants me to be!!

    • Connie G. says:

Kylie, dear sister – you are such an inspiration!!!! We will continue to pray for you as you continue to listen to God and follow His leading!!!

    • Mary Kay says:

Thank you Kylie for setting such a great example for the rest of us. I am a new stepmother and have been fighting the thought of needing to get rid of the short shorts that I used to sport often. One, they need to be ditched because it isn’t pleasing to God’s eyes and secondly I need to work on being a total role model for my stepchildren. Thank you for your inspiration! I suppose I’ll be going through my closet tonight! :)

    • Janet says:

      Dear Kylie,
Thank you for becoming a model for Christ, rather than a model for the fashion industry’s idea of what a woman should be. I pray that your influence will show young women that dressing by the world’s standards does not honor God. Blessings and prayers for your strength in following your convictions.

    • Diane says:

Dear Lord How I praise you for the conviction of sin, how I praise you for the written word of God that causes us to change and for your holy spirit with in Kylie… I praise you Father for the courage you have given this young woman to do what is pleasing in your sight continue to strengthen her faith and enable her to walk in step with you. Lord I ask that you quiet those who are backbiting her, and I ask you to remove every picture from the internet that saddens Kylie.. Lord I thank you that you are the one true and only real God.. Lord I ask that you would surround Kylie with other believers ones who will lift her up and spur her on in you.. And I also ask you to give her the strength to remove people in her life that tend to rip her apart.. Thank you Father for the way you are using Kylie in young girls lives, thank you for her obedience may she continue to love others as you have loved her. In Jesus Name Amen

    • Elaine Segstro says:

May God strengthen you, Kylie! How refreshing to find someone who will live out their Christ-led convictions and not do what is the easy way or the way that brings the most recognition. You are a model for yuoung women and for all of us wanting to let Christ’s light shine in and through us.

    • darlene says:

Thank you Kylie for taking a stand for Christ and speaking out publicly. I Thank God for women like you who take a stand and speak out about it, being a role model for our young girls, showing them its not all about money and fame. I will pray for you.

    • Diane says:

Thank you for sharimg your testimony, I am among the many who will grow & learn from it. God’s favor & blessings I pray will wrap you and protect you from attack.

      God Bless

    • Woohooo!!! GOOOO Kylie!!! So proud of you! Keep spreading God’s truth till the whole world hears!!!

      Courtney

    • Caroline says:

Kylie, Thank you for sharing with us today. May the Lord continue to bless you as you encourage others to live their faith out loud. Love to you, Caroline

    • Adrienne H. says:

I pondered what to say, but couldn’t think of anything more appropriate than girls and young women in my generation truly do look at women in the media as models for how they want to look or act, unless they have models at home saying and showing differently, which is often lacking and sometimes still not enough. Kylie, I find your integrity and courage truly inspirational. Thank you. As a side note, the day my mother and I were reading news articles and came across Kylie’s, my mother said, “See, there are inspirational things in the news.” Is it just me, or does the media depress anyone else with the lack of inspiration?

    • Renee Swope says:

Kylie, I love your heart!! I am challenged and inspired by your desire to seek Him alone, and follows His leading with lavish commitment. What an incredible testimony to the power of God’s transforming Word and the beauty of a heart that loves Him lavishly. He will honor you and your husband. Critics will lash out. The enemy will hate this but JESUS will be your Defender, your Shelter, Your Shepherd and Strength. May you continue to seek Him alone and fall in love with HIM more and more each day. You are gorgeous — from the inside out!! Blessings,
      Renee

    • Jade says:

Thank you for sharing your story with us and with the world. It is so encouraging to see a beautiful young woman like yourself stand up for God in front of a world that won’t understand. You are definitely a role model for young women. I will be praying for you to continue to have the strength to be a light to those around you.

    • Linda K. says:

Praying for you Kylie, you are a wonderful example for us all. Blessing to you as you continue your life in Christ.

    • Lauren says:

Kylie, I am so thankful for your courage and faithfulness to proclaim your new found faith in Christ! I pray for you to continually be encouraged through the Word! Remember that He who began a good work in you will complete it! What an opportunity you have to minister to young ladies and help them discover that their true identity can only be found in Jesus! I prayer that God with continue to strengthen you and give you boldness as you continue to follow Him.

    • Adrienne H. says:

Oh, and I will be praying for you, Kylie!

    • Penny says:

Thank you, Kylie, for taking a stand for God, modesty, & decent fashions! I admire your conviction & your decision & pray that you will be a witness & influence to others in the fashion
      industry and to young women.

    • Oh Kylie! When I first heard about your story, I wanted so badly to whisper a word of encouragemet in your ear – and didn’t know how to reach you. Yippee for Karen, jumping in to bring us before you so you can receive LOTS of encouragement! So Kylie, my encouragement is this. God works in mighty ways…you know the rest. I am sorry you are going through this difficult time, and am praying first that it draws you closer to your husband. Secodly, while this path is more difficult, it has given you a bigger stage on which to proclaim your love and obedience to God. An up-and-coming model, refusing VS? Minor trade story. A top model, walking away from the fame and fortune because God had just revealed a better thing to her? TOP STORY! So you got to share this with all those young girls, (well, us older ones too!) who might see you, and take note, and chose to honor God by keeping their bodies for their husbands. Your courage to step forward so publickly and do this is such a bold stance. I’m embarrassed to share the simplest things that i struggle with, and here you are, throwing it out there, knowing the world’s culture would deal harshly with you! GOD bless you!!! We are praying for you and your family – for peace, and that this story would touch many lives.

    • Jennifer Hodge says:

Kylie- I am so proud of you. Taking a stand for Christ in meaningful ways really is tough sometimes. But we’re not called to live the easy life. Thanks for making it look possible!

    • michelle h says:

Wow! what a testimony! Thanks for making such a tough decision, Kylie.

    • Katherine Berg says:

Wow what a great story! Something for all women to think about!

    • Debbie Roberts says:

Kylie, As a mother of a teenage girl , I commend you for your stand. I thank you for showing young women they can be beautiful without the bare look. I applaud you for witnessing to us, and demonstrating what God wants for each of us. There are few role models for our children, praise the Lord that He chose you to be a “Paul” in the modeling world. My prayer is that He will sustain and increase your witness and prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand(Deuteronomy 30:9)

    • Kari says:

Kylie, Thank you for being willing to be moved by God! I have a 4yr old girl that is already seeing “sexy” looks and wanting to mimic them (we don’t even have TV at home). I am thankful for beautiful women like you that I can point her (and myself) to as inspiration of what God says about beauty as she grows to be a young lady and future wife. Praise God for redemption! You are a light to many!
      Blessings and Love to you!
      Kari

    • Val says:

      Kylie,
What an encouragement you are! You are not only helping young women but young men as well. I LOVE that as we walk past Victoria Secret in the mall, that my little guy knows to look away because he has been taught that sometimes our eyes can get us into trouble! Thanks for taking God’s word for what it is and being transformed by it!

    • Hanna says:

Kylie, on behalf of my daughters, age 10 and 8, THANK YOU. I will hold you up as an example to my son too, now age 6. Instead of just telling them that women shouldn’t model in underwear or show so much skin, I can now tell them about you, show them pictures of you and have them read your story. You are beautiful on the outside, but what you’ve chosen to do makes you even more beautiful on the inside. You are a living example of what I’m trying to teach my girls. Our life as Christians has to be different. We have to stand up and fight to live the way God wants us to live, even if we are judged. Also, God is gentle with us and teaches us things over time. He loves us when we are not following His way perfectly – we are flawed and He knows that – but if we keep following He gently leads us down the path He wants us to be on. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for your life in the future! God bless you!

    • Lisa V. says:

Lord, I pray that the strength and power of You will be with Kylie. I don’t know the specifics of what is going on in her life, but Lord you are stronger than anything that wars against us and I pray that you will show Kylie to rely wholly on You.

I will also add that my greatest fashion challenge is finding time to shop and having finances to do it. I really don’t desire to take hours to shop. More often than not I’m trying to get done as quickly as possible.

    • Diana H says:

Wow! I’m so happy for you! That scripture “what does it profit a man if he gain the whole world & loose his own soul” comes to mind. Nothing we ever give up compares with the unfathomable riches of Christ! I pray that you would come to know His love for you more & more each day & I’m sure He is so proud to call you His! Keep fighting the good fight & we’ll be praying for you as well as sharing your story with all of our daughters & granddaughters – thanks for being such a great roll model for them!

    • brooke says:

      Kylie,

Your story has made a difference! God is using you to show others His will for young women. May you be incredibly encouraged by the words of these posts, but mostly by His sustaining, never-changing, always perfect LOVE that casts out all fear. Thank you for being bold in your decisions. You are truly beautiful inside and out! I pray that I would follow your example to stand firm in my faith and convictions and teach my young daughters (and sons) to do the same.

May God bless you ABUNDANTLY with more than you could ever ask or imagine!
      Brooke

    • carey says:

      Blessing on you Kylie,
Your decision shows the beauty of your heart/character.

    • Julie says:

Kylie, thank you for being such a great role model for all girls and women! May God richly bless you for your obedience. I am inspired that with God’s help, I can make changes in my life that make a difference, not sacrificing money as you have, but a change of attitude. Thank you!

    • Beth says:

Kylie, may God bless you and your husband! May you continue to follow God, and may the critics (both Christian and non-Christian) words fall away from you.

    • Hi Kylie, Wow. What an inspiration!! Thank you for your love of the Word and obedience to the training God gave you. Your courage stands out above the noise and I’m honored you’re my sister in Christ!!

      xoxo, Sam
