My sweet friend, prayer warrior and fellow Proverbs 31 speaking sister Luann Prater is a bundle of Jesus, she is!
I love to glean wisdom from her and more than anything, I love to hear Luann pray. Her deep connection to our Lord just spills over in every aspect of her life.
Here her heart on Encouragement Cafe’.
Doing an interview one Saturday at a local Christian radio station for Proverbs 31.
The station manager and producer asked me to prayerfully consider doing a talk show for women because every time I was on, they had a surge in call-ins and comments.
I said I would pray about it. I went home and asked my husband.
He said, “You didn’t open this door, God did. You need to walk through it.”
I asked my pastor the next day to pray with me about it. He said, “You said YES didn’t you Prater? You didn’t open this door, God did. You need to walk through it!”
Monday I called Lysa TerKeurst. I said, “I want to make sure I’m in step with whatever the ministry is doing.”
She said, “Oh my sweet Luann, this is an answer to prayer! We have been asking God to open new doors for our speakers and writers that only He could open. Walk through it my friend.”
You gals sure seem like you have a blast serving Jesus. Tell me one thing you love about each of the women you lead with at EC.
Only one?? I love that I serve with women who understand the power of prayer in our every day lives. We begin each day with prayer individually and corporately.
What opportunities and resources do you provide for women who connect with the cafe’?
What is your greatest desire for the women you meet through this ministry?
To know they can sit around the table with us any time and find a listening ear, loving arms and praying hearts who not only share life, but direct them to the giver of life, Jesus Christ.

I’m in!
At the kitchen table with my cappuccino!!
Anywhere that’s quiet. And now, today, for the first time in four years, I have a room to call my own (for the most part)! I am so excited, and I believe that I will love being able to come here (I’m in that room right now) and read my Bible.
I like to curl up on my love seat with an afghan my mom made and read my Bible there.

I’m in.
I read my personal Bible many places; ie. bed, kitchen, den, children’s bedrooms, office, car. I really enjoy reading the Bible online. It allows me quick access to many different versions and the ability to compare them, all at my fingertips. It also allows me to share scripture via email with others as I read.
I’m in!
I enjoy reading my Bible and devotionals anywhere that I can find quite. The corner of the couch to the porch swing. As long as it is quiet enough to focus on what His word is telling me.
I have my morning devotiona at my breakfast table. There is quiet in the early hours. As I eat my cereal, I also chew on the Word as my spiritual food for the day. When I relax later in my day, I review the insights and scriptures that spoke to me earlier.
At the kitchen table. Looking out the back window. Usually have nice flowers and a candle. It’s quiet in the morning, for a minute or two anyway :)
In my chair in the living room during the early morning hours.
I’m in!! Pick me! Pick me!!! :)
Sounds great! Count me in, please! My favorite place to read the bible is in my study, on my futon couch, with You Tube worship videos to start it off! Sweet!
Thanks!
Elle
My favorite place to read my Bible is snuggled in my bed reading to the light of my bedside lamp. It’s a peaceful time when my children are sleeping and the house is still.
My favorite place to read my Bible would be in the handcrafted bench my husband made for me that sits outside our home.
I usually read my Bible in bed, in the morning before I get up. I have to be honest though, since hubby passed away on Christmas Eve it’s been difficult to even pick up my Bible :( Makes me kind of sad!
My favorite place when it’s warmer is on our deck first thing in the morning which overlooks the woods. I’m looking forward to spring! For now it’s the kitchen table, my second favorite place…
My favorite place to read and do my devotion is in my bedroom. I have a big chair in my bedroom and I feel less distracted ther.
My favorite place to read the Bible is in my bed with my fleece over top of me, either a cup of coffee or glass of water next to me on the night table, either in the evening after things have settled down from the flury of the day or first thing in the morning to get my day started right with God!!
I setup an old secretary desk in our den in a corner. I love going to my corner for devotions and coffee. Thanks for introducing us to Luann.
PS..
My favorite place to read is in the living room with hot chocolate…
But sometimes with 3 young kids.. I have few choices of where to go…
Hi Karen
What an amazing giveaway and post….
God is always showing me that I need to do my devotions in a different way.. at lot of times its in the margin of my bible that I write thoughts in.
I have often thought a journal would be good to write things in that God shows me while I read.. but have yet to do it.
This would be a great beginning in doing that….
