Fashioned by Faith Giveaway with Rachel Lee Carter

I wanted to let you know about a fantastic new release by a wonderful women I met through our Proverbs 31 She Speaks conference. And one of you will win an autographed copy of it!!

The short informal bio on her is that she is a sweet mom who loves Jesus, has a passion for teens and who was kind to my teenage daughter.

Now, here is her professional bio:

Rachel Lee Carter is an alumnus of Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY.  There, she studied Bible Survey and Systematic Theology with an emphasis on missions and youth ministry.

After hearing God’s call on her life as an international Christian model, she now uses this platform to share the love of Jesus Christ within the fashion industry as a professional conference speaker to mothers, daughters, tween, youth and teen groups throughout the country.

As a professional model of 20 years, and modesty advocate, Rachel has traveled to over 30 countries.

Clientèle includes Cover Girl, Tommy Hilfiger, Perry Ellis, Wrangler, Arrow, Chico’s, Elle, Nicole  Miller, Motorola,  DKNY,  Reebok, Microsoft, SAKS Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Bloomingdales and many others.

Rachel was also crowned Mrs. North Carolina United States in 2009. She resides in Conover, NC with her husband Daryl, and their sons, Jack and Jude. You can learn more about her at modelingchrist.com.

Rachel has just released a book with Thomas Neslon called Fashioned by Faith. It offers a cutting-edge approach to the concept of beauty with a Biblical foundation that will attract moms and daughters alike.

Everyone knows that we live in a “skin-is-in” society, heavily driven by media and immodesty. So how does a young Christian woman reconcile a fashionable wardrobe with maintaining her integrity?

Readers will love hearing about Carter’s exciting story as she leads them on an engaging study that touches on a huge felt need for young women: real beauty has nothing to do with looks.

Offering three valuable perspectives—teen boys, a professional model, and God’s Word—Carter explains her standards of modesty in a way that will make readers acquire a specific understanding of the author’s wardrobe choices and the impact those choices can make on others.

Readers will also learn to season their self-image with daily quiet time with God. A tour of Scripture will reveal the value of heart issues like modesty and why they’re important to God.

Never compromising her sense of style or her faith, every young lady can discover what it means to be Fashioned by Faith.  Moms and girls will love this book!

Check it out! And if you want to catch a glimpse of her interview on the 700 Club, click here.

  4. I would love to have this book for myself and my daughter and all of my Sunday school girls!

    1. Kristi,
This would be a great summer Bible study that you could do with your SS girls. You could even culminate with a sleepover, a fashion show or a shopping trip! Best wishes, and thanks for leading your girls to truth! :)

  5. Watched the 700 Club segment with my daughters. Would LOVE to win this book!
    Thank you,
    Nicole

  6. I’m in!! I’m a volunteer in our youth department and one of the subjects we will be looking at with the girls is modesty! I saw your interview on the 700 club and went out today and bought the book to give to our youth pastor and his wife so I would love to win a copy of the book for myself!

  7. I saw Rachel on the 700 Club and got so excited! I am going to school for fashion merchandising and design and plan to open a store in SE PA that carries modest, chic clothing for women and teens. As a Christian woman, age 39, with 2 young daughters, I have been trying to instill the things that Rachel is promoting to them, and it is just really empowering to know I am not the only Christian that wants to be a part of the fashion community.

  8. I’m in… I posted the interview on my Facebook to get the word out! It was very moving and awesome!

  9. This is so timely! I’ve been discussing this very issue with a former student (youth group), who has taken the stance that being taught to dress modestly in youth group has led to her poor self esteem and body image today. She has somehow taken modesty to mean being ashamed of our bodies and that a woman’s body is “bad”. Would love to have some new insights to share with her.

    1. Hi! I think this girl is just trying to “get out of” the responsibility to dress modestly. The truth is, girls who flaunt their bodies have a lower self-image than girls who don’t. I would definitely recommend her reading this. If she doesn’t budge, it’s a heart issue. But she will still be held accountable. Love her through this-their are some underlying issues here.

  10. I’m in…would love a copy I can pass along to all the teen girls I have the privilege of teaching! Thanks for being such a REAL role model! Blessings to you!

  11. i would LOVE to have a copy of this book! I have four young daughters, one approaching 13 :) and this is a must have for moms of teens! thanks!

  12. I would love a copy! Rachel is such an inspiration for teen girls my age and I’d love to see what she has to say about modesty! :)

  13. What a success Rachael! We are so proud of your accomplishment. We have watched the 700 Club segment and are half way through a pre-ordered copy of your book : -) Our 16 year old daughter listened to the segment and has already adopted the layering you mentioned.
    God Bless!

    1. Ruth, this would be great for you to walk through this book with your girls–it can definitely get you both on the same “page” and create a special bond through an unlikely source: fashion! :)

  14. I would totally love a copy of her book. She is a great example for young girls and women.
