She Makes It Look “Breezy” Giveaway With Marybeth Whalen

Note: Due to a few glitches over the weekend when my site was unavailable, I have decided to leave this post & giveaway up until Wednesday. Also, if you still want to hop on my Facebook study on time & home organization based on my book, click here:

Ever looked at another woman and silently whispered to God, “Uh….I think I’ll take what she’s having, please”.

Yes, on the surface ‘she’ seems to have it all–good looks, a nicer-than-yours home, a solid marriage, better-behaved-than-yours kiddos and that natural knack at living life well with her canned goods alphabetized and never a dvd late fee or missed appointment.

She makes life look like a breeze while you? Well, you feel the whirl winds of life are about to knock you over and blow you completely away!

I’ve been there. I’m still there sometimes. How about you?

When will we ever learn that the grass isn’t greener on the other side? The grass is actually greener where you are careful to place the sprinkler, spread a little Miracle Grow and be intentional to pull your own weeds!

Ariel Baxter has just moved into the neighborhood of her dreams. The chaos of domestic life and the loneliness of motherhood, however, moved with her. Then she meets her neighbor, Justine Miller.

Justine ushers Ariel into a world of clutter-free houses, fresh-baked bread, homemade crafts, neighborhood playdates, and organization techniques designed to make marriage better and parenting manageable.

Soon Ariel realizes there is hope for peace, friendship, and clean kitchen counters. But when rumors start to circulate about Justine’s real home life, Ariel must choose whether to believe the best about the friend she admires or consider the possibility that “perfection” isn’t always what it seems to be.

She makes it Look Easy is the latest novel by my close friend & Proverbs 31 writer Marybeth Whalen. And you have a chance to win it, along with some other items that can make your life a bit more of a breeze! Simply leave a comment on this post. The random winner will be announced Monday. The giveaway includes:

~ A signed copy of She Makes it Look Easy

~ A mouse pad/notepad combo for you to use by your computer and make lists or doodle.:-)

~ A fun ink pen.

~ A set of sticky notes with a matching notepad for your purse or to place by the phone.

~ A $10 gift card to TJ Maxx/Marshalls– a place where I always find cool organizing & office-y stuff.

So, for your comment. Although the book is about comparisons, the lesson of the story is how to be content with your life and stop wishing you were someone else. So, no comments about what areas of your life you wish were more like someone else’s. Instead, let’s be a little goofy.

If you could have a different name, what name would you choose? We fondly refer to this our “Panera name”.

Yes— I have friends who like to leave a different name with the worker at Panera Bread for their order. That way, instead of hearing “Brenda?” when their sandwich is up. They stroll over when they hear the employee call out “Seneca?”  :-)

Maybe it isn’t an exotic or regal name, but what is another name you like?

  1. I’ve always liked the names Olivia and Grace. I never have liked my name, but I’ve learned to live with it. :)

  2. My Panera name would be Sarah Beth, in honor of my youngest daughter. Sarah Faith was born in 1991 and was such an inspiration during the 2 1/2 years she was with us.

  3. Entering the Easy Breezy gift sweepstakes. Name change…used to hate it because of the long spelling but to jazz it up I think I could be called “Sissie”. It’s so Southern and being a Texas girl it wouldn’t cause me to bat an eye!

  4. I was born Angela, much perfer Angie ….the only ones that I do like calling me Angela are my parents and family….. my husband only calls me that if he’s trying to get on my nerves..lol.

  5. I’ve always wanted a different name but as I get older, I’ve come to appreciate the one I have. I do not have any daughters but love the name Callen. That would be my Panera name! :)

  6. This is funny, when I was younger I wanted a different, special name. When I entered high school, I told people my nickname was Sharnan. Then when I entered college I told them it was Re (with an accent pronounced Ray)

And now I really like being a Karen. I love the tradition that has come down on my mother’s side of the family, to name the first girl a variation of Catherine. My mother was Kathryn, her mother was Katherine (which is also what I named my oldest daughter) the names go back to Kathleen, Kate and other variations I don’t know of but it’s been a tradition for several generations. Always passed down on the female side.

  7. I really never thought of having another name. April would be nice.

  8. Wow, I have never thought about having a different name. As a kid everyone called me Backy and I really didn’t like it. Since getting married, my husband has been great about introducing me as Rebecca and I love it! So anyway, if I had to choose a different name, I would be Jenna. I’m not sure why I like that name but I do!

    Rebecca Ann

  9. Although Stephanie came to mind ~ I really love my given name! My Dad picked it out, even the spelling, which has been difficult to continuously explain over the years! It’s spelled Jo Ann, but I’ve actually used ‘Joann’ many times just so I didn’t have to continuously say it’s “J o capital A n n with a space between the A and the O and NO E, thank you Dad!” .. LOL I love my Dad so much and am grateful finally for the way he chose to spell it! :D I’m unique, just like he is, and just like my name is!

  10. It seems like a wonderful book to read. I definitely need to always remember how wonderful my own life is! I would just keep my own name and embrace it with more “pizzazz”, and mix it up with Jess or Jesse. :)

  11. My Panera name would be my own! Simply because I probably would not respond to a different name or forget that I gave them a different name. Although I may say Ruthie makes me sound younger? Have a blessed day!

  12. Well actually my real name is “Hughlene” and as a kid I hated it. But now I realize what it meant to my parents. My Dad just passed away 2 weeks ago and I was named after him. He was Russell Hugh. As you can see I go by Lynne and have for many years because no one could spell or say my name correctly and it was annoying. Now I wish I had toughed it out and stayed using my name in honor of my dad. Life lessons, right?

  13. What a fantastic idea! I could use a book like this. ;)
I’ve always felt weird saying my own name…and I’ve never liked it.
    Picking a new one….is hard.
Maybe something like Mallory or Liza. Of course, I don’t look a bit like either.
    (there I go…comparing)

  14. There are so many names I love, but the one I’ve actually used that isn’t my own name is Calliope. It’s fun magical, and youthful…things I try to be :)

  15. My Panera name would be Lydia. I’ve loved that name since finding it in the Bible. When we found out we were pregnant with a little girl, I pushed hard for that name, but my husband says it reminds him of someone who would wear purple stretchpants??? How ironic that my hubby, who had never heard the Bible story, imagined a Lydia wearing purple when the Lydia of the Bible was a seller of purple!! :)

  16. I love the name Olivia – so old fashioned and timeless! Will have to try this name game next time my daughter and I have lunch at Panera. :)
