How Big is Your “But”?–Made to Crave Weekend Giveaway–Times 5!!!!!!

Do you have a big “but”?

No, I don’t mean as in the one you try to wriggle into your skinny jeans each morning.

I mean a big “but”, as in an excuse, a crutch, a reason not to tackle something you know you should.

Last year, while searching for a video clip as part of my church’s Creative Arts Team, I came across a hilarious video about some of the big “buts” we all have when it comes to our walk with God.

Click here if you want to catch this convicting, yet humorous three minute clip. (Be sure to come back for the big “but” giveaway.)

I am convinced (because I’ve seen it in my own life) that one of the biggest areas where we pull out our big “buts” is when it comes to our eating and exercising habits (or lack thereof!)

My friend and ministry partner Lysa TerKeurst, author of the New York Times bestseller Made to Crave and its awesome companion products, is hosting a free webcast this coming Monday , February 20th on our big “buts”. Her book helps you satisfy your deepest desire with God, not food. She says this about the webcast:

We all face obstacles too big to overcome yet some find victory while others live in defeat. Could the difference be our buts?

Learn how to turn your “but I…”excuses into “but God…” exclamations with every obstacle you face!  If you’ve ever struggled to overcome an area of defeat in your life, this 30 minute Biblical teaching will give you an amazing fresh start.

In anticipation of this webcast, today Lysa is allowing me to give away five—yes FIVE!!!!–copies of the Made to Crave 6 week teaching dvd along with a participant’s guide workbook for each.

This teaching series can be done alone or with a group and it is sure to arm you with some determination to get over your big “but”, whatever it may be.

I did this study at my church last winter with a group of 27 gals from many churches and walks of life. You will LOVE it!!!

Now, in order to be entered, simply leave a comment here with what your biggest “but” is when it comes to eating healthy, moving more or placing something (or someone!) else before your relationship with God.

I’ll bare my “but” and go first…..

“But, I am sick and tired of fighting to get to (or sometimes stay at) a healthy weight. It isn’t fair some women seem to eat whatever they want and still be naturally thin. Now, hand over the cheesecake. I am depressed!”

OK–

Now show us your big “but”! Winners announced Monday.

NOTE: If you want to sign up for this free webcast, head over to Lysa’s site and do so in the sidebar.

  1. “But I had such a tough week and I deserve to relax and eat what I want.” This is one of my biggest downfalls – a stressful week/day/hour – feeling like I deserve a treat instead of leaning on God.

  2. When I went to college I worked out 3+ times a week and started eating healthy. Then I got married and starting having kids. I would love to go back to working out BUT I don’t have time to focus on that right now.

  3. but I walked 4 miles today and I’m about to start a “real” diet tomorrow/lent is coming up and i’m giving up all the bad foods i consume/i deserve this one treat…………there are SO MANY BUT’S>………lord have mercy!

  4. BUT… I love chocolate and sweets and bread drizzling with honey butter,
But… I hate to exercise and it takes so long to see the results
I would love to win a dvd and participants guide for this study. I would love to lead a study in my church on this. I know several of us girls who could benefit! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
    Blessings,

  5. But my daughter isn’t behaving today, the whining right now is unbearable, and I just want to sit on the couch with a jar of peanut butter and the tv remote and let her scream in her crib for the next hour.
But I’ve been so good for a whole month. I deserve a little leeway. Why should I have to write down EVERYTHING i put in my mouth. That’s so much work!
(Thanks for the chance to win!)

  6. but…I work in a busy area of a hospital and have vendors bring in food EVERY day of the week so the food is free and not always healthy. So I weigh the benefits of free food against the money put out on healthy lunches instead of weighing on the scales at home…..guess which wins??? Hmmmm!!

  7. But…the best time for me to workout is in the morning, but I am too tired and I don’t have the patience to wait for it to come off. It will take forever to get this weight off.

  8. BUT I am so tired and need the extra sleep this morning. .I will exercise tomorrow morning.
I just need to accept the fact that I can’t get up early enough to excercise, read by Bible and get a shower so I will skip the exercise…at least I read my Bible.

  9. Just let me finish the junk food that’s in the pantry and fridge, and I won’t buy any more after that. The Lord doesn’t sanction waste, right?

  10. But my children will interupt my (insert ANYTHING here……work out, meal planning, ect.) a thousand times so I may as well not try until they are older. Haha works like a charm and I put it off for another day.

  11. But, my knee hurts and I’m waiting to see the doctor about it so I can’t exercise. I have other health issues, but I am doing ok for now. But, it is much easier to pick up the remote and watch TV when I get up in the morning instead of starting the day with my Heavenly Father.

  12. My “but” is not related to diet and exercise. I exercise regularly and am currently a Lifetime Weight Watchers member who is trying to get back to FREE Lifetime! Mine is spending time daily win the Lord. I use the excuse that I can do it later. Besides He is always available :(

  13. BUT, I’m over 40 and the weight is like it is super-glued on!!! It’s so frustrating to try SO hard and to lose weight so painfully slow. Is it worth it?
