Junk Closet Heart

In my Proverbs 31 devotion today “Junk Closet Heart” (click here to read it so you won’t be lost but be sure to come back!) two things were mentioned that you can get for FREE.

One is the complete set of six video teaching sessions of my newest book LET. IT. GO. How to Stop Running the Show & Start Walking in Faith(Note: this will be in Mp3 format)

This set retails for $26.99 and each session features me teaching in a coffee house setting of friends on a different character in the Bible (Eve, Sarah, the Proverbs 31 woman, Rachel & Leah, David, Joseph) and how they either were a control freaks or how they trusted God instead. Well…actually some started out being controlling and then learned how to walk in faith. Unpacking their story can empower us to change too!

During the month of April CBD (Christian Book Distributors) is holding a FABULOUS offer. If you buy LET. IT. GO. in either paperback or e-book, you get the teaching sessions as downloads for FREE! (As in no cash-ola, save your dollars—oh, I LOVE free! Thanks CBD!) If you already have the book, consider purchasing it for a friend or to donate to your church or local library so you can still get the sessions free. You could even buy it for your controlling mother-in-law. Well, maybe not….

Here are the links: (Be sure to look under the product where it says “Buy together and save”. You’ll see it adds the teaching sessions in free)

Paperback version

E-book version

NOTE: While you certainly will learn (and laugh!) while viewing the dvd sessions, to get the most out of the video study consider also getting the Bible study guide (and grabbing a few friends to make a group too? I’d love for us to meet together in your living room to learn!). (Click here to view the Bible study guide)

Designed to be completed in about 20 minutes a day, five days per week, this user-friendly workbook is a companion to the video lessons and will help you get consistent in having a time alone with God each day. Sessions include:

  • God Called and He’d Like His Job Back
  • Combating the “Me First!” Mentality
  • Pursuing the Appearance of Perfection
  • Practicing the Art of Soul Control
  • When Comparisons Lead to Over-Control
  • Fixing Your Eyes on the Attitude indicator

Next freebie: Also in the devotion, I talked about that feeling of a spiritual mess starting to mount in your heart. It may be through envy, jealously, anger, bitterness, resentment, etc…What can we do to keep the clutter of heart confusion at bay?

Read.

Study.

Commit to memory.

Here are five Bible verses to help us keep our hearts clear of any spiritual junk that might start to pile up if we aren’t careful:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Galatians 5:25-26: Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (HCSB)
Psalm 23:3-4: Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. (ESV) (NOTE: the “swearing deceitfully” talked about means lying. Although the other kind of swearing isn’t good either!)
Job 5:2: For anger kills a fool, and jealousy slays the gullible. (HCSB)
Ephesians 4:32: And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. (NKJV)
Psalm 51:10: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (ESV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Let’s both stop letting that awful spiritual clutter pile up! I’ll pray for you. You pray for me? Good. :)

Finally, please remember to be sure to read my last post below about the newlywed couple recovering from a horrible accident. Click here to witness this amazing love story and see how you can easily and creatively be a part of their recovery!

Have a wonderful weekend!

    IF you are trying to purchase the paperback and have troubles, ask for a supervisor named Mary – she was great. She did tell me that e-books have to be ordered over the internet – but they will help you place the order if necessary.

    I was so excited to see the special offer at CBD for The Let it Go book and DVD set. However this offer only applies to the USA. This is very disappointing. Sure would love to see this available in Canada.
