  1. I like to sit on my couch early in the morning before my littles wake up with my coffee, my bible, my journal, and whatever devotional book I am using at the moment. I ask God to direct my quiet time which then leads me to prayer, journaling praises or concerns, moving to my devotional, or spending time in an area of the bible. I am excited for this devotional!!!

  2. OK. So first thing in the morning I log onto Facebook. I type out the next verses I am in in the Bible. God told me to type the Bible onto Facebook and it took me a year before I was obedient and started. I think it is going to take me a long time, I am only in Numbers right now. Then Our church has a prayer calendar where every family in our church has a day, and a few extra days we pray for other things. So I pray on Facebook for whoever day it is. A lot of our congregation uses my facebook page to see who we are praying for. Then I list the chapters to read in the Bible to read the Bible in a year. I get them from Elizabeth Georges website. Love her. And then I tell a little about what I am doing that day. Then I go sit on the toilet and read my Bible chapters for the day in the quiet away from the children and the hustle and bustle of my house. Stop laughing now. Giggle.

  3. I like to read devotionals that have references to Scripture (e.g. Jesus Calling by Sarah Young). I alos LOVE to do this first thing in the morning when it is quiet and I am most at peace.

  4. I read the Word. Got serious 27 yrs. ago and have missed 1 day…reading and
journaling what i learned each day. Only God can get a person to His Word every day!

  5. Nothing as special as meeting God everyday and have fellowship with Him! I use a devotional and read my Bible using a Bible in a Year plan. Your new devotional sounds like it’s a really good one… would be happy and blessed to be one of your recipients :) Thanks in advance :))

  6. sitting at the kitchen table, a cup of tea, being involved in a specific study and journaling has been refreshing for me.

  7. On these brisk fall mornings I enjoy opening the Word with a few cherished devotionals, a cup of hot tea and a quilt….when I am able to be home for a while in the morning, I light a candle and soak Him in!!

  8. When I am alone with God, I have a conversation with him in my head saying everything I am thankful for. I enjoy nature which is his creation. God has brought me to Proverbs 31. I am 63 years old . I am now living on a small income . I thank God everyday for Proverbs 31.

  9. I’m experimenting with different things at different times. I find it is hard to be still in my mind so I’m practicing sitting or laying in the quiet without any music. I do some soaking prayer where I listen for God and soak in His presence with soft instrumental worship or Taize music playing. I also journal where I reflect on something I read or heard, ask God questions and write His responses down. I love how He meets me in these practices and so many other moments during my day.

  10. I have a Bible or two with different translations, a notebook, and my favorite pen. I keep it quite. I can’t hear God with a lot of noise going on around me. I write down what God speaks to me. I go back and reread what I wrote down. It is amazing to look back and see how God sometimes spoke a word before I even knew I would need it.

  11. When my time Alone with God. I play music softly…. Quiet my mind and have a devotion book and my bible and I just sit. Waiting to feel a prompting to read a little, hum along, read a passage or just pour my heart out to God in prayer. Sometimes I just close y eyes and let my heart speak. God knows my desires and my needs and as I worship into his presence I find Him waiting for me.

  12. I like to sit on my big swing out in my flower garden and just enjoy the peace and quiet where I can talk to God and revel in his creations- the hummingbirds, all the different flowers, etc. It’s very relaxing and the perfect place for my time with Jesus.

  13. I enjoy reading the gospels with the corresponding chapter in Desire of Ages by Ellen White. The combination helps the stories to come alive for me.

  14. I work full time so a lot of my quiet time is spent in my office beofre I start working. I turn off the lights where I can see the city lights glow and the sun rising, I get a cup of coffee, and work on my bibe study I am doing through Good Morning Girls.

  15. I love to spend time praying in my car when I am by myself. The quiet helps me focus on what and who i need to pray for. I would love to win the book.

  16. Besides spending time in prayer and using a couple different Bible study plans, I have been keeping a Blessings Journal for the past few years. I started it when I was going through an extended, particularly grievous, time of difficulty with my oldest child. As I saw her spiritual life spiraling downhill, I found myself wallowing in self pity. I admit that I found it difficult to thank God for anything because I could only focus on what I considered “the bad”. I decided to make a list every morning of the blessings God gave me on the previous day. It it a good source of reflection and can open my eyes with wonder and my mouth with praise!

  17. I like to listen to praise and worship music. I find it super convenient, esp. as a background music at work, and then I noticed my mind manages to record on the ‘backburner’ what I listened to, so later on I end up humming some of the songs, which keeps my mind on God :) Sitting quiet so far has not worked out for me because then my mind starts spinning 1000 thoughts, and I feel like it defeats the purpose of spending time with God.
I’ve been receiving your Encouragements (Prov.31) for a few years now. I’d love to win the book. And the cover looks sooo elegant! good choice!

  18. I’m up before the crack of dawn so try I spend some quality time with just me & God each morning. I love going through my emails to find my daily devotionals that I have sent to me, beyond that I like to read a chapter or two from the bible a few times a week. Not always as good at the bible reading as I used to be… but that’s just something to work on again ;)
I also try to wake up with a prayer & go to bed with a prayer.

  19. I enjoy quiet hours with the Lord before anyone is up in the morning and after everyone is in bed at night. I just like to thank him and tell him how grateful I am for all he has done for me and my family along with those who surround me. I can’t wait for the day my whole being will be spent with him. No errands, no dissappointments, and no more tears. Until then I will occupy til he comes. Thank You Father!!!

  20. My best times with God Are while I am praising Him in worship. Singing song that worship Him with arms lifted up in surrender.

  21. I set my iphone timer to 10 minutes. I take those few minutes to let God speak to me. With Bible and pen and paper in hand, I write or read scripture or sometimes the page may say “Be Still” Ten minutes was a struggle at first for me to stay focused but now it goes too quickly. This time is so refreshing to me. I cherish these moments.
