Where are you?

I’m curious. Where do you spend your time online? Do you have a Facebook page? Twitter account? Do you snap pictures and post them to Instagram? Do you like to spend time pinning on Pinterest?

While social media for sure can be a black hole causing us to waste time and neglect real life, it can also be a place to connect with other Christians for friendship and encouragement. {Just set a timer and don’t allow the hours to get away from you!}

I like to post pictures on Instagram like this one I took during my morning time with God:

I enjoy creating graphics like these for Pinterest:

I love getting a chuckle out of images like this on Facebook:

  1. I am following you on Facebook and would love to have your book. Your thoughts, quotes and pictures are inspirational.

  2. I like Instagram and am very new to Facebook. Don’t spend much time on either but I follow you on both. Congratulations on the new book. I can’t wait to read it.

  3. thank you for sharing in particular the pic of your time with God- it is absolutely beautiful!!
I am a believer in the fact that we create our own world with what we surround ourselves by. It’s amazing how different people’s fb newsfeed can vary based on what pages they like. I noticed recently that I am pretty happy with mine- in the last cpl of yrs I ‘liked’ your page on facebook and the ones of your Proverbs 31 colleagues. I am also signed up to your’alls blogs and Prov 31 devotional, and to your pinterest page. So I dont feel like I waste time on these social sites as long as I focus on these pages that bring such beauty and inspiration into my days and life overall. So, thank you!! :)

  4. Karen, I connect with you and other P31 ladies through email and comments to blog posts. I have died away from Facebook and other forms of social media. I much prefer to have conversations face to face or via phone, but email works out for me otherwise. Sounds a little old fashioned, but I think that it has been made too easy for people to avoid conversation with all this other stuff! God bless!

  5. I use all of the mentioned social media sites however facebook and Pinterest are the one I visit daily……I follow you on each. :)

  6. Hi Karen!

I spend quite a bit of time with Proverbs 31. I am on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. I am following you on all 3! :-) I am also reading your book “Let It Go.” Every morning I spend quality time with my Bible app. God is good! ????

  7. I spend a lot of my time with Proverbs 31. I look forward to the daily devotions. I would really enjoy reading your book. I ‘m reading ‘ Let it Go’ at the moment. Also like The Time Warp Wife.

  8. Hi, Karen! I follow you on Facebook & Pintrest. I spend time on both every day.
I use to be seriously addicted to FB, however, God dealt with me on this matter & now I limit myself to my 15 minute breaks (4) that I give myself each day. My husband & I both are happier. I do post my Psalm verse of the day in the mornings, after that, very sporadic.

  9. I have facebook, and Pinterest. I love connecting with friends on facebook and love all the cool ideas on pinterest for just about anything. I just started following you through these media’s.. I have to say I love the photo you took, what a great talent you have. My kids have Instagram and are always showing me cool photos from there. Would love to read your book… Thanks for coming to our inbox.

  10. I spend too much time on Facebook & Pinterest. I have purposely avoided Instagram, because I think it will become just one more addiction. I have tried to stop using social media as much, but some of ministries that I am involved with solely post on social media, so I have to log in to stay plugged in. Then there are other websites & blogs that I follow that ask you to engage with them…but first you must log into Facebook to do so. It’s frustrating…

  11. I follow you on all of those you mentioned except Facebook (I’m not on that one.) But I love seeing your inspirational words and creations on Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter : )

  12. Over the past week, I have been spending less time on the various websites that I was subscribed to. Even the Christian ones, because I was becoming so overwhelmed and most of them appeared to be the same recycled messages. Don’t get me wrong, I can get so much out of a message the second and third time around, but it became old and seemed more about promotions than anything else. I have since unsubscribed to many of them and as far as FB and Twitter goes, I only visit there for inspirational purposes. I have been online for years now and since have moved on to other things. I do however enjoy visiting your blog site here and receive so much from various women whom share God’s heart as well. Blessings! :)

  13. I feel rather bad because I only just heard about you a few weeks ago when I went through and watched all of the Women Living Well conference series and then I went and subscribed to your email because A) I thought you were hilarious and B) there was a lot of wisdom behind your words and I really enjoyed your speaking. I hadn’t thought to think about FB, though I’m on it frequently (okay…ALL THE TIME), but I just started following you on everything just now, lol! Can we say “Stalker!”

  14. I am following you on pinterest and liked you on FB! That is where you will find me….I LOVE pinning! :)

  15. Karen thank you for sharing that beautiful picture. I love pictures. Love the cover of your book!!! I use my email to get your devotions and I also liked you on FB today ;o), and I use Pinterest too. I’m not a Twitter, I asked my teen daughter to show me how to get on that, (we will see). Thank you for the timer idea, I think that is great. Yes, we can spend too much time on social media, I find it nice to be able to connect with family and friends, but have also found, that there are days, time does get away from me and that is not good, so I will be using the timer….
    Blessings Anna

  16. I use Facebook to keep in touch and for online Bible Study group. I use Twitter VERY rarely. I don’t have a lot of access to social media because my work computers cannot access them. I use my smart phone for them some.

  17. I am on Twitter and on Facebook. Facebook is for friends and twitter for mostly info that I want to connect with. I like Pinterest to look at all the great stuff, it can be addicting so I try not to get on there too much. I have to watch my time, I can get caught up in the social media I want to spend most of my time with the people I love the most in my life and whatever God would have me to do.
