  1. As a former teacher, I know this means the world to us when folks “remember” us. :) I am going to do just what Karen said and contact that teacher! :)

  2. I dedicate Day 11 to one of my college instructors who does not have social media. She is my mentor, role model and friend. She inspired me in the classroom and had a positive outlook in the role of education. I will forever be grateful for her knowledge in education. #12DaysOfChristmasKindness #ListenLoveRepeat

  3. I love telling a couple teachers what a great teacher they were for my kids. I know several have retired but there is one that is still teaching. Will send her a message.

  4. What a great idea! This year we are trying to show appreciation to ballet teachers and Sunday School teachers etc.

  5. I think I will also reach out to the women I learn from now. Take the time to tell them how much I appreciate their wisdom and investment in my life.

  6. This day of kindness presented a challenge for me considering I do not have a facebook page. I hope you don’t mind if I took a moment to compliment my son and daughter’s teacher instead of facebooking a teacher from my childhood. I love following blogs from women of God but facebook is a bit much for me, although I do see some of the perks of having a page especially if you have a business of some sort. To each their own! :)

I’m so excited to see what the final day will bring!

  7. My favorite teacher is no longer living. So I think writing a letter or sending a Christmas card to her children telling them what an influence their mother had on my life would be special. ?

  8. This is a wonderful idea! Teacher deserve recognition for the impact they have on the children who pass through their classroom. Some students leave a lasting imprint on your heart and are hard to let go of at the end of a school year, so hen they come back to visit and let you know what’s going on in their lives it is really special.

  9. Love the thought of “stalking” an old teacher… wonder if they would remember me? I did post a note on one of my Young Life leaders timelines that was thanking them for their work in changing my life. Fun stuff that you are doing, Karen, THANK YOU!

  10. Unfortunately the teachers I really cared for are passed away. My kids are now in their 30’s. I have fond memories of some of their teachers. One in particular that had three of my children in preschool. I know she’s still here and on Face Book so will reach out to her.

  11. So I reconnected with an old friend whom we had a bitter fight and never spoke to each other for 2 years. IT is crazy because its just like we didn’t miss a beat. Its amazing how powerful forgiveness can be in someone’s life. Crazy too because she is going through a divorce and God placed me back into her life.

  12. I have tried to find my most favorite teacher for years. I just tried this morning and I messaged her, we’ll who I think may be her, this morning.? I was a very skiddish child. I was bullied in elementary school. I had troubles at home too so I ended up having ulcers and in the hospital for weeks in 4th grade. Mrs. Barker was my teacher. She always shared her lunch with me when I didn’t have any lunch money. Her hugs were the best when words hurt me to the core. She made learning fun!! I hope I got the right person. If not, please, if you know her, could you message me her info. She worked at Woodland Elementary in Roxboro, NC. Sweetest memories that always comforted that little girl’s heart when she was hurting.

  13. I am currently 29 years old, which means I was in kindergarten 23 years ago, and yet I will remember my kindergarten teachers first and last name. One of the only names I do remember and that’s because she touched mine and my family’s heart so much!! We all still think of her often. Love this idea today! <3

  14. I taught first grade from 1999-2005. Now I stay at home and raise our three kids. Most of my students are 17-25 now. It is always good to hear from them! And yes, we teachers look up our former students that are now adults to see how they are too!
