Welcome to my 9th annual 12 Days of Christmas giveaways. In keeping with the theme of my new book Listen, Love, Repeat: Other-Centeredย Living in a Self-Centered Worldย this year we are making the series 12 Days of Christmas Kindness, giving simple and doable ideas for reaching out to others during the Christmas season. {Each day’s posts are linked at the bottom of this post.}
There will be a fun giveaway each day {valued at $25 or more} and then an overall grand prize {or two!} valued at $100 or more! Here is how it works:
*Each day, December 5th through 16th, join us here on my blog. There will be an idea given for scattering kindness at the holidays.
*Each day will also feature a friend of mine—a blogger, author, speaker—who will be giving away a fabulous prize. {You are gonna love these generous ladies and you will really love their giveaways!!} Maybe you recognize a familiar face?
*Our goal is to get ya’ll spreading some Christmas kindness by doing the simple ideas and also–if you can–posting about it on social media using the hashtags #12DaysOfChristmasKindness and #ListenLoveRepeat. It can be a simple thought–or even better, a pic of you {and your people, if you’d like} doing the idea given for scattering kindness.
*To be entered in the 12 daily giveaways, leave a quick comment on the post eachย day here on the blog. You can comment on all 12 days up until midnight Pacific time, Sunday, December 18. Each day’s posts are linked at the bottom of this post.ย Oneย daily winner will be chosen from each day’s comments and all winners will be ย announced on Monday, December 19.ย **U.S. Addresses only please.**
*The GRAND PRIZE winner {and a runner up or two} will be chosen by me–and my ministry team. We’ll be snooping around on social media by searching the hashtags to see who is really getting into the spirit by spreading the CHRISTmas kindness forย 12 days. We will pick a grand prize winner and perhaps a few runners up. All winners will be announced Monday, December 19th.
Okโฆhere we go!ย For our first day, letโs start with our families. The idea?ย Stick it to โem!
Leave sticky notes of encouragement for your family members, along with a favorite treat, somewhere they are sure to discover themโtheir pillow, car dashboard, desk, backpack, bathroom mirror, etcโฆ Tell them you love them. Write out one aspect of their personality you love or a character quality you admire in them such as, โI love how you are such a loyal friendโ or โYour generosity inspires me!โ
Ready? Grab a pen, sticky note, and a little treat and scatter a little kindness on your family!
Now for the GIVEAWAYS!
The prize for Day One is a copy of my newest book Listen, Love, Repeat: Other-Centeredย Living in a Self-Centered World. It is all about listening between the lines for who might need a healthy dose of encouragement and then doing something special to show them Godโs love.ย I’m also including a set of these ADORABALE notecards from a new friendโs Etsy shop. I met Danielle from The Little Thingsย when I picked up a few of her cards at local indoor farmerโs market. Arenโt they just the cutest?
Danielleย is graciously giving away this set of 5ย cards today AND offering any of you whoโd like to order some of her things a 10% discount in her shop. Her Christmas cards, and state cards—of course Michigan is my fave—are the ones I am grabbing. Simply visit her shop and use the code โLISTENLOVEREPEATโ at check out!
Now, for the GRAND PRIZE! It includes a 6-quart programmable slow cooker, a cookbook from my friend Katie from The Dashing Dish, a Listen, Love, Repeat bundle that includes the book, 6 week Bible study DVD and two study guides to do the study with a friend, and a $50 Amazon gift card to buy any kitchen gadgets you need!
Are you ready! Letโs go!
- Leave a comment here with your thoughts on today’s idea for scattering kindness.
- Go scatter kindness with your family members.

Or, even better, post a picture of you doing the idea given for scattering kindness. Just be sure to use the hashtags #12DaysOfChristmasKindness and #ListenLoveRepeat And, if you could link to this post when you share, that would be FAB!

Now, letโs go scatter some Christmas kindness and be sure to join us for:
Spreading love. and showing through my actions that speak loud! LOVE this series!!
I did this one when I went out of town for a few days. I think my kids liked it!
Love this simple idea! As a teacher, I already have lots of post-it’s so this will be fun and easy to do. Thanks for sharing!
I definitely want to do this one with my family
How neat…. Left a treat for my children.. #12daysofChristmaskindness

Today was a fun one! Honestly I did this one a day late but it worked out because it was St. Nick’s Day so I added some people to my sticky note list! I left notes for my husband in his briefcase, on his steering wheel and a texted a co-worker and asked her to leave a note on his desk from me! I usually put a note & a joke in my son’s lunch bag so that worked out. I also brought hot chocolate to my kids teachers and the secretary with a sticky note attached to the cup with a kind word about them. I got such a nice thank you from my son’s teacher! It ended up making MY day!!!
Thank you for doing these giveaways… I LOVE the theme of spreading kindness this year. Put “lunchbox note” into my son’s lunchbox to let him know how proud I am of him.
I love this idea I am actually have already been doing this I was spreading scripture cards and post its that I had pulled from Cindy bultema websites the coffee chat she had with u is how I found out about u.
Hi Karen, The christian radio station here in Houston, KSBJ has a campaign,”Love Notes that Stick”. Where they encourage people to leave loving sticky notes all across our city. Thanks so much for all of these wonderful ideas to scatter kindness!
I have occasionally done the post it notes in the bathroom on the mirror; on the coffee pot; kitchen cabinet of the coffee cups and a sticky note on keys or wallet. Drives my hubby crazy. But he has said it warms his heart every time he finds a note!! Then he resticks them up for me!!! Love it!
So many ways to celebrate and pass out love to others. Love scattering kindness #12DaysofChristmasKindness #ListenLoveRepeat
I love this simple idea. It’s the same concept as packing a little note in your child’s lunch. I know how they light up with that, so why not spread that same joy to others.
I loved your idea of leaving a note with a special extra tip for those who work hard. Today my husband went out to an inexpensive lunch, so the tip wouldn’t have been much, but I remembered your bog and gave a generous tip with a note “Merry Christmas”. It wasn’t a huge amount, but enough that the waitress was really moved. She said it was one of the nicest things anyone had done for her and made her day, she was nearly in tears. It felt SO good to do something so small, thank you for encouraging us to be more thoughtful of others and share however we can.
It’s been awhile since I’ve left a note in my husband’s lunch! And I think my 4 year old will get a kick out of getting a note at the breakfast table with a surprise treat. Thanks for the reminder:-)
What a fun way to spread the joy of Christmas
