If there’s one thing I love more than cheese pizza, it’s snacking. There is just something so lovely and delightful about little mini meals/treats throughout my day.

But here’s the thing, pizza and snacking while comforting to our hearts and tastebuds in the moment, kind of doesn’t leave us with that ‘oh so glad I ate that‘ feeling once the moment is over.

Been there?

So. In the last few months or so, I’ve really done my best to search out the healthiest, yet still totally yummy and comforting snacks out there. Ones that still bring delight to my lips, but don’t necessarily bring extra pounds to my hips.

This summer I did a little “haul” (as they like to refer to it over on YouTube) of some of those healthy snacks I found from Vitacost, to bring along with us on our summer vacation. We were going to be gone almost two weeks, the entire time alternating between many different homes and towns. I knew and expected that our eating wasn’t going to be perfect, but I did want to plan ahead somewhat so that at least MOST of the time we had healthier alternatives.

And, I am so happy to report that the snacks were a success and we returned home from two weeks of vacay without having gained a single pound — and that’s with s’mores. wedding cake, and home cooked southern-style mac ‘n cheese added to the mix as well.

I really do believe it’s all about moderation. {If you count two slices of wedding cake moderation?}

All that said, because these snacks were such a hit, I thought I would share what I ordered and what we continue to eat often in travel, at home, or even most recently what we’ve been adding to the kids lunches as well.

P.S. I’m still searching for healthier cheese pizza options, always, because I just don’t feel like life is well lived if you don’t have cheese pizza in your life. So, if you happen to be like me, you need to know about my current favorite healthy-ish splurge, which has been by Real Good Pizza. It’s seriously a game changer.
