It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I love this time of year because giving gifts is one of my very favorite things to do! But not just any gift. I love giving meaningful gifts. For my children, it has become a tradition over the years to give each child one gift, in particular, to spur them on and encourage them in their faith, which can be a Bible, journal, devotional etc. I also get one gift for the whole family, such as an advent book, game etc.

There is something so special when the loved ones in our lives can see the sentiment behind the gifts we give them. Those will be the gifts they remember.

Below are some of the most meaningful gifts you can give children this Christmas.

  1. I’ve been giving Sarah Youngs devotionals for kids! My daughter has the childrens bible by her and it’s just fantastic book for little people. We love the illustrations and the stories are simple enough for little ears to understand but also keep the impact and truthfulness of the biblical stories.

  2. Jesus Every Day by Mary DeMuth would be a great gift to give. It’s a book of “Prayers to Awaken Your Soul”. Each day is one page long, has a one word title, a scripture reference (that takes you through the entire bible by the end of the book) and a prayer. There’s a prayer for every day of the year and the prayers are numbered “Day 1”, “Day 2”, etc so you can start on any day of the year and work your way through the year at your starting point.

  3. When my kids were little I would give them different Bible story books or Christian books for holidays. A favorite was the A-Z Memory Bible. They sang the songs and memorized Bible verses that they can still recall today. Now our kids are teens and young adults. My husband recently bought Tony Dungy’s One Year Uncommon Life for himself and our sons so they could do the same devotional and have something to talk about. I bought my teen daughter a coloring Bible so she could take notes in church and do creative coloring and lettering along with her Bible reading.

  4. I don’t give books for gifts because I don’t know if they will like them. I have received Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus as a hift and I love it!

  5. Thank you for these wonderful gift ideas! Indescribable will be waiting under the tree for our grandson he will absolutely love it! I too get devotionas and bibles for people on my life! Merry Christmas

  6. I try to give my “reading” grandchildren a child’s devotional each year. Hoping to build in a good pattern of daily time to spend with God

  7. I have gifted Lynn Cowell’s book Brave Beauty to my neice. It’s a devotional for young girls to help them find their identity and confidence in Christ. Thank you so much for the idea of the Action Bible! I have purchased two to gift to my oldest nephews this Christmas :)

  8. I plan to give a She Reads Truth Bible to one of my daughters this Christmas, but I am excited to check out many of the books you mentioned above! (We have already gone through The Dig books!)

  9. I love giving the kids a new bible or a new book from the The Dig series. I also like to find coloring books that are spiritual as well.

  10. This is a great idea. I did get our grandson a 4 book box set for ealry readers : Tales of Buttercup Grove. The lead characters- A skunk and a raccoon! Should be fun and teach Godly values. A book I received a few years ago I have given as a gift as well- The One Year Devotions for Women by Ann Spangler. Gifts that share the story of our best gift ever are perfect for sharing! Merry Christmas!

  11. I love to give a newly married or engaged couple “The Power if a Praying Wife” and the “Power if a. Praying Hunsbad” books.

  12. I love to give gifts that last and what lasts longer than God’s word. I have gifted everyone in my family Bibles and my favorite gift is a new Bible or devotional.

  13. A few years ago I gave my oldest granddaughter a beautiful Bible for girls with her name engraved on it. She has cherished that Bible and told me so many times how much it means to her. These are some great suggestions. Thank you! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

  14. I don’t have a favorite but am always looking for new Devotionals , specifically related to Moms with littles as that’s the stage my friends and I are in.

  15. My favorite gift to give would be the Bible which can be tailored to any age group. It is never to early to have a blueprint for life or to learn about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
