We are not big on giving many or even big gifts in our family. We have had many struggles in our family and we are so blessed to remain a family. We focus on new traditions and some old and enjoy time together making new memories. We rarely even remember what we received last year, but we always remember the time together and the traditions. ???

I enjoyed this message and remembering past Christmas traditions from childhood. My dad used to take us kids out Christmas caroling for our neighbors every Christmas Eve. We’d warm up with his special home-made hot egg nog then head out later to midnight mass. We’d sing all the way home while looking at the light displays.
Your message in the Proverbs 31 today, I can hardly wait, spoke to my heart. I made notes in my Bible, I love knowing the meaning of the Greek words. I need to wait for Jesus with more eager anticipation ! Thanks for your 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway.
Karen, You have been an inspiration to me after studying your women’s Bible Study ‘Keep it Shut’. It really helped in my marriage and friendships to be more careful of what I say and to get closer to God so he could stop me before speaking in haste. Thank you!

Thanks for etching the bible verse Philippians 1:20 into my mind. ESV “as it my eager expectation and hope that I will not be ashamed,but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in ,whether by life or death.” I am going to add this verse to my prayer scripture journal. I was more familiar with Philippians 1:21 – ‘For me to live is Christ,and to die is gain.”

Beginning on the first of December, I read one chapter from Luke every day leading up to Christmas. Daily reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Now that my children are adults and my parents have passed, I often find it difficult to stay in the spirit of the season. Your devotional reminds me that my focus should not be on the flurry and fuss of the holiday but on our Savior. Thank you!

Every year growing up my Mother would read the story of Christ’s birth to us on Christmas day. It is a tradition I have always loved and brings back memories of my whole family gathered around her.

I am the eldest of three sisters. We all believe in Christ and cling to him for life. We lost our mother ten years ago. She held us together with her faith, counsel and goofy antics. We adored her. Since her passing, we have determined to be like a braid as scripture describes It. Because we’re older now, life’s challenges have been pretty hard of late. I care for my husband with onset vascular dementia after 40 years of ministry. Our misleading sister cares for her husband who is worse than my husband. Our youngest sister cares for our father who is approaching 90. Why do I tell you all this? Because our youngest sister recommended your blog, devotions, etc… and it has given all three of us such strength. Thank you . We look forward to each post. May God richly bless you.
