Day 10: Favorite Christmas Cookie
Today’s guest is my friend Alexandra Hoover. She is a wife, mother of three incredible kiddos, daughter, friend, bible teacher, and Proverbs 31 devotion writer. And now, here she is with a fun question of the day!
I grew up eating delicious homemade Venezuelan desserts for Christmas. My absolute favorite was Tres Leches cake (translation: three milks cake). This is a sponge cake โin some recipes, a butter cake โsoaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated, condensed, and heavy cream. Sometimes cinnamon is also in the recipe.
As I grew up, I was also introduced to a few American recipes that I loved as well. They became a sweet obsession. One is soft sugar cookies and the other is gingerbread cookies. I love them fresh out of the oven. I just can’t go without them at Christmas time!
And so, for our question today, tell us what your favorite Christmas cookie is in the comment thread and you will be entered to win my giveaway.
Day 10 Giveaway
Thanks Alex! For day nine, Alexandra is giving away Ann Voskamp’sย Family advent book Unwrapping the Greatest Gift, and her new guide Come and See. Be sure to tell us your favorite Christmas cookie. (In case you’re wondering, mine is church windows!)

I like a mixture of cookies, cut outs, dates, molasses, snickerdoodles, peanut butter balls, chocolate crinkles,
My favorites are pecan tarts, potato candy and peanut butter balls!!! My mom and aunt used to make these every year.
Date balls rolled in coconut. My husband and I both grew up eating these at Christmas and we were surprised to find out we both loved them!
I love all types of cookies, a nice tin of a mixed variety from a Christmas cookie exchange- oh how I miss those !
My mother-in-lawโs Ting-a-lings!
Any question that is food-related is pretty easy for me! ha My first favorite is sugar cookies. Like you, they have to be thick and soft. I don’t even always mind if they are decorated if they taste buttery good. My husband found a recipe on Google and made some the other day, and they were delicious. I am always jealous that he is such a good cook. My second favorite is the twin bing bars. You know, the ones with cherry on the bottom and chocolate on the top! Yummy. And thirdly, I really like those peanut butter balls that are dipped in chocolate. So good. I’m pretty easy to please, but this year I know I’m going to have to take it easy on the sweets. :(

One of our family favorites is Peanut Butter Kiss cookies.
Don’t need Christmas for good ole’ fashioned chocolate chuck cookies, haha. During the season, gingerbread cookies with icing and all the candies (gumdrops, peppermints, marshmallows, etc.) Tomb cookies and wedding cookies (the white, wintery, sugary cookies)… those are a special treat!
My favorite Christmas cookie are the sugar cookies with designs in the middle like gingerbread and Christmas trees.
Sugar Cookies (Shape Cookies)!
Frosted sugar cookies.
Scandinavian Almond Cookies
Sugar cookies. Not so much because of the recipe, but the fun of decorating them. Either a cookie decorating party or just with friends, always a riot and huge mess!
I think they are called cherry crinkles. They have cherries with a melted Hershey’s kiss in the middle. Soooo good! I love the combination of cherries with chocolate!!!
I love Peanut Butter Kiss cookies and Smore’ Cookies.
Sugar cookies fresh from the oven are my favorite at Christmas.
My mom makes a decorated cookie that is a Chinese almond cookie. Itโs so decadent. Iโm trying to perfect this one too.
Come and see the excitement of the manager!
Missed details of questions. Making and decorating gingerbread cookies. My kids love and I love. But time consuming.
Not sure that I truly have a favorite cookie – they are all good!! Christmas pounds – here you come.
I love frosted sugar cookies! They are so fun to decorate and delicious to eat and give away!
Hot chocolate chip will always be my favorite.
Chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven.
My favorite Christmas Cookie is mini pecan pies. YUM!
I love gingersnaps!
