Basil Limeade

You might not think basil belongs in a sweet summer drink, but trust me. This is delicious! A copycat recipe I created after visiting an eatery near my daughter Kenna’s home in Charlotte, NC. Very unique, earthy, and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 6 limes seeded and juiced
  • 1 lime seeded and sliced
  • 6 cups water, divided
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves coarsely chopped
  • 3 cups ice

Instructions

  • Place lime juice in a large pitcher.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup water to a boil and add honey.
  • Once the honey is dissolved, pour the honey mixture into the pitcher, and add remaining water.
  • Stir until well blended and add basil, lime slices, and ice.
