Instead of giving something up chocolate or chips for Lent this year, take something on! Join us in the Lenten Letter Challenge. It is a simple way to use your words for good, encouraging 40 people over the Lenten season. Here is how it works.

✝️ Purchase 40 notecards (or pieces of stationary) and 40 stamps. Put them in a basket (or tote bag) and then place them where you’ll see them each day, maybe near your favorite chair or next to your nightstand.

✝️ Each day during Lent (March 5-April 19, omitting Sundays) choose one note card and write an encouraging message to someone. It can be someone in your life currently, someone far away, or even someone from your past such as an influential teacher from your school days. You might also want to write a letter of thanks to someone who serves you all year long, such as your postal worker, the dentist, your child’s teacher, an elderly neighbor or even your favorite barista at the local coffee shop. Mail (or take) the letter to them, stand back and wait for the smiles. I mean, who doesn’t love getting a hand written letter these days? (NOTE: the 40 days of lent do not include Sundays, just Monday through Saturday.)

✝️ Finally, you can hop on the Doing Lent Together Facebook page to interact with other members. We have over 10,000 people in that community who love to celebrate Lent together. There will be a few giveaways during the 40 days and a Facebook live session or two as well. Find the link to the FB page in the link in my bio!
