The key to good organization is not a one–size–fits–all method. It is a unique plan that considers personality type, lifestyle, income level, and family schedule. Karen believes that with her simple step by step process moms can recognize their own personal style of managing their households successfully and develop a unique plan that gives them the freedom to:

  • manage their time wisely
  • de–clutter and organize their homes
  • plan menus, shop more efficiently, and become more comfortable and creative in the kitchen
  • get children involved in pursuing an ordered life and home
  • avoid the trap of overcommitment
  • use practical tools to assist in organization

Getting and staying organized means more time for the important things in family life—concentrating on cultivating a close, personal relationship with the Creator, drawing His word into every aspect of living, and ultimately tying their children’s heartstrings to God.

When it comes to hospitality it doesn’t matter what size your house is, how it’s decorated, whether or not it’s spotless, or what you cook or don’t cook. The secret to making guests feel comfortable is more about the condition of your heart than the condition of your home.

A Life That Says Welcome helps you make others feel refreshed, rather than impressed, in your presence. It’s packed with inspiring tips on how to:

  • decorate well on a budget
  • make the most of your space (no matter how small)
  • be prepared for unexpected company
  • create delicious, simple dishes your guests will enjoy

You’ll be encouraged to not only open your home but to open your life as an avenue for God’s love everywhere you go.

Beyond birthday parties, anniversaries, holidays, and holy days, there is the every day. And while the loss of the first tooth or the first day of school may seem like normal, ordinary occurrences, these authors show that even “just because” events are enough reason to celebrate the One who gives us life each day.

There is spirituality behind all celebration. In Homespun Memories for the Heart, with more than 200 inventive ideas plus Christian inspiration, brief reflections, and biblical examples of everyday celebrations, Karen and her co-authors give concrete, practical, and tangible ways to bring that spirituality into everyday. Readers will be encouraged to create their own family traditions and bring faith to life by making home a place where Christ, family, and friendships can be celebrated openly and often-because life doesn’t have to be ordinary.

I got off facebook a couple of months ago. I spent way too much time trying to keep up with what was going on with everyone. I do miss it but believe I was supposed to give it up and spend time on other things. Terri

Terri, I am glad to know that I am not the only one that has walked away from facebook.. I also miss it, but I know that is what the Lord wanted me to do.. I now have more time to spend with my kids and to do things for my husband.

          Hi Ladies!

I too went off Facebook about a year ago and it I LOVE not having to check things or feel like I have to “post” about my life. It’s so freeing! I’ve also “unsubscribed” to most of the feeds for blogs that was taking up my time to read. Although all of those mediams were great recources, God has led me to just spend time on the things that are truly important in my life. Namely, the Bible and my family!

I could use some advice from anyone. I do plan on getting Mommy Diaries to help me. I am 22 years old. I am married, just celebrated my 3 year wedding anniversary. I have two children (my husband is the father of both). They are both girls. One is 9 months and the other is 2 years old. I have been hearing that it gets easier as they get older and I hear it gets worse. What do you think? I know that God is working in my life and will help me through things but, being this young with children, I feel like I have no friends to talk to. Relationships are crumbling around me. I have lost so many friends because I am married with children and they like to party. I don’t feel that I should party just because i’m young. I feel pressured daily to just give up and stop caring. I need peace. God drew me to this website and I know that it was for a reason. Thank you.

Cynthia, I admire you for taking on responsbilities of marraige and motherhood so early. From what you say, I do imagine it can get lonely. What I know is if you pray for God to provide you with good friends, he will. Btu dont feel like you made the wrong decisions to marry or be a mum, and to take those responsibilities seriously. You are cultivating some thing that will last and impact society. May God help you find like minded friends.

We are planning to sell our house and move after living here for 14 years. I feel like I go 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. I feel totally lost as I go through what I thought was our organized life. Kids don’t want anything now that they have moved on …. I have given plenty away to Boy’s Ranch Thrift Store. Plenty has gone into the garbage .. and looking forward to Fargo’s clean up week to let more go. Still — feeling like pulling my hair out.
