Welcome to the 6th Day of Christmas Giveaway!! We’re half-way there!!

Each day, December 1-12th, I am featuring a fellow Proverbs 31 sister and an aspect of Christmas. You’ll get to know her and she, in turn, will offer a fabulous giveaway! Simply leave a comment on her post to be entered in the drawing.

And, one soon-to-be-very-giddy gal who comments on all 12 posts will win the GRAND PRIZE! You may comment on all posts until Monday, December 13th when the winners will be announced. (to see the grand prize and get caught up on the posts click here)

Now, here’s our sixth P31 gal……the fantabulous Amy Carroll !!!

In her own words……

Let’s see…a little about myself (that’s always a little daunting!).   The goofiest things make me giggle. Just about anything makes me cry. I cry when I’m happy, sad, moved (even by Hallmark commercials) or in awe of something God has done.

I don’t think on my feet well.  I get a joke a day late and think of the perfect come-back two weeks later.  I love a soak in the tub, hot coffee on cold mornings, candles on my deck, a good story, funky jewelry, and anything that makes me laugh.

I’m married to Barry, the man that I still love madly after over 20 years. We’re both pretty strong-willed, but he makes me laugh every day!

My two boys, Anson and Nolan, are my delight.  I’m simply astounded that I could be a mother of a two huge boys and that I’ve become one of those people who’s simply silly about her dog, a miniature dachshund named Hilde.

My work with Proverbs 31 Ministries is fueled by my passion for Jesus, and I love it!

As well as serving on the Speaker Team, Karen and I have launched a new branch of our ministry called Next Step Speaker Services.  It’s designed to individually help other speakers sharpen their skills and marketing tools.  You can get to know me better at www.amycarroll.org or more about the new service at www.nextstepspeakerservices.org.

I’m not much of a cook, but I have this recipe for Russian Tea that everyone looks forward to at Christmas.  It’s yummy and has the added benefit of making your house smell terrific! I want to share it with you today:

Russian Tea:

1 gallon water

2 sticks cinnamon

3 whole cloves

6 oz. can frozen orange juice

6 oz. can frozen lemonade

2 cups sugar

3 small tea bags

Boil tea, cinnamon, cloves and water for 2 minutes.  Remove tea bags, cinnamon sticks and cloves.  Add sugar and juices (not diluted).  Serve hot.

When we have guests over, I usually pour this from a large pot on the stove into a large coffee maker (the big silver kind) so that people can easily pour their own.

Amy’s Giveaway

Since I can’t ship Russian Tea to you :-) , I’ll send the winner of the drawing:

~A beautiful mug with chai tea mix and…

~A copy of my Christmas message, “With Us”.

~Also, if the winner turns out to be a speaker, I’ll give you a free ½ hour call to talk about tips from any of our services with Next Step Speaker Services that interest you.

Merry Christmas, friends!  Don’t forget that JESUS is the gift!

Okay everyone….. to be entered into the drawing to win Amy’s giveaway, leave us a comment telling us your favorite wintery drink.

Mine is a decaf, skinny, peppermint mocha from Starbucks or my own homemade version of  a steamy mug of Millstone Holiday Peppermint coffee with a splash of Land O’ Lakes low-fat half & half and a touch of Splenda or Stevia. Yum!!!!

Warm Blessings,

  1. I make an eggnog drink that is scrumptious. Not too good for the waistline but delicious nevertheless. It’s simple: eggnog, sprite and vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

  2. I’ve had the honor of meeting Amy, and love how welcoming, genuine, and sweet she is!

Wintery drinks are such a delight. I love hot cocoa (homemade mix), decaf caramel mochas, and hot cider!

Thanks again for another sweet gift opportunity, Karen and Amy!

  3. I am a big fan of Starbucks Peppermint Mochas! I just tried the Caramel Brulee Latte this week! It is pretty amazing too! I love hot drinks on cold days/nights!

  4. For winter mornings and evenings I love hot milk mixed with decaf caffe, it makes me feel better every time when I think it is to cold and too long winter :).

  5. I make a spiced tea that uses instant tea, lemonade powder, tang, sugar, and cloves. Yummy! I also love homemade hot chocolate!

  6. I make my own peppermint hot chocolate using sugar free cocoa mix and after it’s hot I drop in a small candy cane. Yummy! And almost guilt-free.

  7. I guess I like to try any new flavor of coffee — peppermint flavored coffee sounds yummy! I also like hot spiced cider.

  8. My favorite drink I get to have once a year at my friend Claire’s annual Christmas Tea. She makes hot chocolate from scratch using real Ghirradelli chocolate and fresh whipped cream. It is to die for and worth waiting an entire year to have. It is made extra special because my daughter who is sixteen also LOVES it and looks forward to having it with me. We have gone to this event together for fourteen years and wouldn’t miss this time together…or the hot chocolate…for anything.

  9. I have a homemade hot chocolate recipe that I love. It has mini chocolate chips in it so it’s really chocolaty and yummy!
