Wife After God Giveaway with The Unveiled Wife: Jennifer Smith

0Today I’ve asked Jennifer Smith from The Unveiled Wife to tell us about her new book Wife After God and offer a giveaway!

Jennifer began a web-based ministry for wives in March 2011. She publishes weekly marriage articles on her personal blog, UnveiledWife.com, including encouragements, devotions, and prayers of the day, all geared towards empowering and discipling wives.

She and her husband currently serve as leaders in the Marriage Ministry at their church in Southern California. Jennifer is devoted to encouraging wives all around the world to develop God-centered marriages.

wife-after-god-30-day-devotional-unveiled-wife1-1Wife After God is a refreshing and inspirational 30 day marriage devotional for wives who desire to have a deeper more fulfilling relationship with God and their husbands. This devotional study was prayerfully composed with 30 days of biblical concepts and practical challenges to help you nourish your relationship with God and your relationship with your husband in marriage into ones that are captivating, intimate and extraordinary. Every day you will be presented with a biblical topic to help draw your nearer to your God and your husband. You will find that as your relationship with the creator deepens so will your love for your husband.

Jennifer, tell us a little bit about life at your house this summer.

This summer is special for us because we have the privilege of spending quality time in Bend, Oregon visiting with family! Escaping the heat and congestion of Southern California, we are enjoying the fresh air and the incredible scenery along the Deschutes River.

What is your heart’s passion for your blog and ministry?

My heart’s passion is to help develop strong Christ-centered marriages. The ministry of Unveiled Wife is simply to encourage wives daily, through prayers of the day, testimonies, and articles dedicated to discussing relevant marriage topics.

What prompted you to write this devotional?

Wife After God is the result of a need I had to draw closer to God. I realized that as my relationship with God grew, my relationship with my husband also grew. I feel like God prompted me to write out what He was teaching me about these two important relationships and wanted it to be available for all wives to be encouraged by.

What do you hope readers of this devotional will gain?

My hope is that wives gain a better understanding of the correlations between our union with God and our union with our spouse. I also hope that the message woven throughout the devotional will inspire every wife who reads it to be intentional about building a Christ-centered marriage.

You are offering a giveaway today to my readers. Tell us about it.

I am so excited to be giving away 2 free copies of Wife After God! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below telling us how your marriage could benefit from this devotional.

Two random winners will be announced Sunday night, August 25!

  1. We as Christian women should be working on making our marriages reflect what God would have them to be. I enjoy reading and getting new/fresh ideas or perhaps reminders of things to do but one thing I have learned over the years is God’s perfect timing is awesome! If there is a new book on this subject I am there reading and learning. Willingly opening my heart up to what I need to glean from a new read. I would love to receive this book not only for myself but to offer some new and fresh insight to young wives or soon to be wives that share with me on many different levels and issues. Thanks for all you do.

  3. I am newly married – for the second time (step-family). I thought I knew what it was to be married, but now I understand that all of my previous experience and misconceptions were not God-centered. Basically, I just figured out what I don’t know – and its a lot. Honestly, I devoted myself and my marriage to Christ yesterday and have been trying to read everything I can get my hands on to learn more. Thank you for everything on the blog.

I am sure that I continue to love him, but deal with ways to continue to show it and have it be shown to be as well. Your book could help heal this marriage and grow stronger, I will be signing up to ready your daily bog. God Bless

  8. I am looking for ways on how I can be a better wife. With so much going on in life, it seems that working on our marriage to keep it strong tends to take a back seat. I know I need God to help change me so I can be better forum husband.

  11. We are in a busy stage of marriage with our kids and work, etc. I believe these are the times that marriages get pushed to the side unless you make them a priority. I would love to read this devotional!!

  12. We started.marriage. counseling a few weeks ago. I think the devotional would help me keep focus on God who designed marriage.

  13. We have been married for 40 years and the first ten years, my husband was not a Christian. We have been seeking counseling for over a year and I recently lost my job as a Hospice nurse. I went to school to become a hospice nurse after caring for a great uncle and my father-in-law when they were dying of cancer and after our youngest daughter left home to attend college 1,000 miles away from home. Although I have a strong faith, I am confused as to why God would allow my job to be taken away after He called me to that ministry. I find myself somewhat angry with God and it is difficult to share my disappointment with anyone around me. I know that what I need most is to restore my relationship with God and with my husband. I am praying that I win this devotional book and i can study it and restore my desire to serve the Lord through whatever avenue He chooses.

  14. I was not only touched by ur story and testimony but im motivated and hopeful that god can move and improve my failing marriage. I have been married for 3 yrs and fighting a spiritual battle for my husbands salvation for 2 years now. My husband isn’t a believer and my faith has definitely been up n down. I pray that one day he will be saved and we will be a grand testimony to other marriages. I would love this book because not only will it strengthen my marriage and relationship wit god but it will give the strength, patience and faith I need to keep fighting for my family and husband. I am a true believer deeply in love wit god and I am afraid my husband will walk out on me along wit my two kids one day. I tend to feel depressed most of the time and we have such lack of communication. I want my husband to be able to open up to me and trust me for anything. We have had many ups and downs through the years and I want that to be over and always see the bright side of life always. Please keep me not only in mind but prayers. Even without the book I am hopeful and would appreciate any help through prayer u can help wit.

  15. This blog post came at the perfect time for me. This time of the year is so hard on my marriage. I am a teacher, busy with back to school and my husband is a farmer gearing up for harvest and we have a 2 1/2 year old and another on the way. I can’t even remember the last time we were able to have a good adult conversation. I have been feeling like I need to do more to bring out the spiritual leader in my husband and have been trying to be more intentional in praying for him daily. Thanks for the reminder of how important my relationship with God is to my marriage and for recommending a good devotional to help.

  16. My husband and I met at church and marriage seemed easy I never thought I would be in the mess I was in last year. Thanks to prescription drugs my husband felt dependent on that was just they way satin snuck in. But I am blessed to say earlier this year my family and with my husband we are healing and our marriage is back on track. Since then, as busy as I am with ministry, own business n 3 busy kids, I am still trying to find ways to keep time and my communication open for my awesome husband and my heavenly father. I know how important this us but to be honest I am still struggling. When I heard of your book I thought how awesome it would be to read and use the advice to not only help me but also other moms/wives that I come in contact with. Knowing now what I went through it has giving me opportunities to help others God puts in my life struggling with there marriage and this book I believe could be of use as well. Thanks for this opportunity and also all you do with the knowledge God gives you to bless others.

  17. I definetly need to improve my relationship with my husband, we have had a very difficult marriage. I would enjoy and grow with the Lord and my husband if I read this book. Thanks for the opportunity to win this book.

  18. I think every marriage could use this! None of us are perfect and could all use some extra prayer and devotion and healing for many ..

  19. I have been researching more ways to have a better relationship with God and with my husband. Our marriage began with children. We have left little time to become intimate. We are at a point that we both want to be closer to God and to work on our marriage, especially intimacy. We feel that if we develop a better relationship we can be better role models to our children.

  20. I am a wife of 32+ years who is only a week out from having my husband ask to leave our home and marriage. I was willing at that point to let him leave as I have been so tired of not hearing him and not being heard by him. I was only able to tell God that I couldn’t fight anymore and that I was sorry for failing Him by failing my husband. It was at that point that God opened my heart and my lips to allow all that was bottled up in my heart to come out and fall on receptive (by God’s grace) ears. The past few weeks have shown me how important being intentional in listening and most importantly hearing what is being said. Without God in the center everything falls on deaf ears. I just thank God that He didn’t give up on us even though we had.

  21. My husband and I have been going through a tough time. He was laid off and with the stress of life, we have drifted apart. We have prayed that the Lord would help our marriage to be glorified in His eyes.

  22. It would be a great devotional. The more I seek God and spend time with Him, the better a wife I can become. Thanks for the opportunity.

  23. I would love to have the extra structure to help me be more disciplined in my walk with God AND my husband. Its so easy to get distracted with many other things – this would be a great blessing at a busy time in our lives that would fill a great need.
