Valentine’s Giveaway
Well, I planned to have a Valentine’s post and giveaway for you today.
Then, the school called to say my “baby” was sick (all nearly six feet, 200+ pounds of him!)
So, I’ll still feature the giveaway. Just no time for the post.
Got me some chicken soup to whip up and a doctor’s run to make. (And, of course, a Yoda Soda to grab for the patient at Biggby Coffee on the way home from Doc R’s!)
I’ll keep this post up until Friday when I hope to have a guest blogger featured with another love-themed giveaway.
That is unless I catch whatever my boy’s got. Ach–ooo!!
Okay then, here is a just-for-fun-no-lesson-or-lecture-to-go-with-it Valentine’s giveaway. It includes:
~ Some Dark Kiss lotion from Bath & Body Works
~ A bag of Hershey’s dark kisses for you
~ A bag of dark chocolate M & M’s for the kiddos in your life (or…let’s be honest….perhaps for you too!)
~ Some Joe Boxer warm, fuzzy lounge socks
Okay— to be entered, leave a comment telling us your favorite thing to have when you are sick. Mine is Stewart’s Key Lime soda.
Or, if you are slammed today, have a sick one to care for yourself or can’t think of an answer, just say “Dark chocolate”!
Winner announced Friday. :-)
When I am sick, I enjoy the cheap box instant mashed potatoe. No gravy just the bland potatoes.
Coke and saltines are the best for settling a stomach. Chicken soup is excellent for colds and congestion. Potatoe soup is a wonderful comfort food.
When I’m sick I want ginger ale and saltine crackers.. Prayers that your little one is better soon. It’s never a good thing when you have a sick child..
Campbells Chicken Noodle soup.
Lemonade plus staying in bed surrounded by a bunch of pillows.
Pressed for time! DARK CHOCOLATE
Paperdolls…because my mother used to buy them for me whenever I was sick.
karen, you drink Key Lime soda when you are sick?? ewww…. I’m guessing that is not for stomach bug sick, right? If I have stomach bug, and I’m trying to ease back into keeping something down, I try the toast and ginger ale route, as real ginger ale has ginger, natural stomach calming properties…but if it’s a cold, then comfort food – chix. and dumplings, etc. Of course, I really want my mom when I’m sick, even at 47. That rarely happens now, but a couple yrs ago, when my kids were younger, Mom and dad came when i was VERY sick with a virus. Of course, the payback was they BOTH got sick, and i was up all night for several nights taking care of them :)
cinnamon sugar toast cut in triangles
When I’m feeling really rotten, my very favorite thing is a nice warm cup of jasmine tea and a cuddle from my hubby.
Vernor’s (has to be that brand) Ginger Ale, toast and my bed….
I like my home made chicken soup when I am sick. I just wish my husband knew how to cook so he could make me some when I am not feeling well.
When I’m sick I just want some niquil & my bed. But as the mom, I rarely get either.
DARK chocolate is good for you, sick or not :) However, when I’m sick, the best (for me) is when my husband brings me a cup of hot tea while I’m sitting up in bed reading my favourite book.
A Chick-Fil-A Sandwich
toast and 7-up with a straw.
Chicken soup, a cup of hot tea sweetened with honey and distraction in the form of a book go a long way when I feel sick :)
Peppermint Green Tea…so good!
When I have a headache I like to have a glass of milk. Well, I think i need 2 glasses today. But it is all good.
Liptons chicken noodle soup and gingerale!
Hope your “baby” is feeling better soon! My favorite thing is Ginger Ale, canned peaches (the ones in light syrup) and saltine crackers. I don’t have any of these things normally, only when I’m not feeling great.
Mashed potatoes ALWAYS make me feel better…. ;)
When I’m sick, cream cheese on crackers – just a few – make everything better. That and a little coke.
Apple juice with crushed ice for a sore throat; hot peppermint tea for everything else!
A plain cheeseburger from Dairy Queen and a Mt. Dew.
