Wife After God Giveaway with The Unveiled Wife: Jennifer Smith

0Today I’ve asked Jennifer Smith from The Unveiled Wife to tell us about her new book Wife After God and offer a giveaway!

Jennifer began a web-based ministry for wives in March 2011. She publishes weekly marriage articles on her personal blog, UnveiledWife.com, including encouragements, devotions, and prayers of the day, all geared towards empowering and discipling wives.

She and her husband currently serve as leaders in the Marriage Ministry at their church in Southern California. Jennifer is devoted to encouraging wives all around the world to develop God-centered marriages.

wife-after-god-30-day-devotional-unveiled-wife1-1Wife After God is a refreshing and inspirational 30 day marriage devotional for wives who desire to have a deeper more fulfilling relationship with God and their husbands. This devotional study was prayerfully composed with 30 days of biblical concepts and practical challenges to help you nourish your relationship with God and your relationship with your husband in marriage into ones that are captivating, intimate and extraordinary. Every day you will be presented with a biblical topic to help draw your nearer to your God and your husband. You will find that as your relationship with the creator deepens so will your love for your husband.

Jennifer, tell us a little bit about life at your house this summer.

This summer is special for us because we have the privilege of spending quality time in Bend, Oregon visiting with family! Escaping the heat and congestion of Southern California, we are enjoying the fresh air and the incredible scenery along the Deschutes River.

What is your heart’s passion for your blog and ministry?

My heart’s passion is to help develop strong Christ-centered marriages. The ministry of Unveiled Wife is simply to encourage wives daily, through prayers of the day, testimonies, and articles dedicated to discussing relevant marriage topics.

What prompted you to write this devotional?

Wife After God is the result of a need I had to draw closer to God. I realized that as my relationship with God grew, my relationship with my husband also grew. I feel like God prompted me to write out what He was teaching me about these two important relationships and wanted it to be available for all wives to be encouraged by.

What do you hope readers of this devotional will gain?

My hope is that wives gain a better understanding of the correlations between our union with God and our union with our spouse. I also hope that the message woven throughout the devotional will inspire every wife who reads it to be intentional about building a Christ-centered marriage.

You are offering a giveaway today to my readers. Tell us about it.

I am so excited to be giving away 2 free copies of Wife After God! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below telling us how your marriage could benefit from this devotional.

Two random winners will be announced Sunday night, August 25!

  1. Karen – Unveiled Wife is a gem! Her daily prayers sure help refresh this tired old saint. Would love to win – but want more so to encourage the ladies to get her daily prayer emails. Hope all is well with you.
    Grace and Blessings.

  2. I would love to have a thirty day sectional that will draw me closer to God and my husband. I’m also looking for something to share with a group of ladies at church. This could be just what we need.

  3. I’m married to a youth pastor and we love serving the Lord together – but we always need wisdom and guidance as we grow and change over the years.

  4. My husband of 15 years just informed me he was taking a job out of state and I need to be out of our home by November. (Obviously the move doesn’t include me. ) I won’t leave and I won’t stop fighting for my marriage while I still have breath. I don’t know that a book could help us. But spending time in God’s Word could never hurt. Anyone reading this, if you could lift up a prayer for a complete stranger, i would be grateful. Thank you.

  5. As a woman with a chronic illness, sometimes that illness takes over my temperament and I am short with my husband as well as others I love. I try to faithfully read devotionals that encourage me to re-focus my mind and heart on Jesus in spite of circumstances. I feel like this devotional would be another helpful tool in re-orienting my mind as I attempt to keep our home a haven from the cares of the world for my wonderful, loving husband. Thanks for this devotional and for the opportunity to share our stories as well as read the struggles of others. It does help. God bless you!

  6. My husband and I just welcomed our third child, and we now have three little girls under the age of five. Some days…ok, most days…we find ourselves emotionally and spiritually exhausted. Not only are we individually drain, but our marriage is impacted as well. My heart is to grow closer to the Lord, so that we can grow closer to each other. Thank you Jennifer for being obedient to the Lord and writing this devotional.

  7. I would love to read this book. I feel that my husband and I could be closer. I would like to know what happens when the husband does not take the lead spiritually. I haven’t been nagging him, but I haven’t been praying regularly about it either.

  8. After 10 yrs of marriage, and 2 children, i think this would help us to reconnect to each other and feel like we are dating again….

  9. I would love to read this book! I’ve only been married a year and it has been difficult. We’re still getting adjusted to the two becoming one, moving to a place where its just the two of us, and me having a hysterectomy! We’re only 30 and realize we have a lot of years ahead! It’s soooo many days we both want to walk away, but remember that God didn’t promise sunshine and rainbows everyday! No one in my family had a successful marriage and I want to be the first! And I want to do it God’s way!

  10. I would love to read this book and share it with two good friends of mine. Marriage is difficult and we need all the guidance we are able to get from godly sources. My husband and I have been married 34 years most of which have been a struggle. I want to please God in my life and marriage, but often feel like such a failure. I thank our Saviour for his faithfulness and goodness.

  11. My husband and I will cerebrate 50 years of marriage this coming November. What a Blessing in today’s world! We have been through rough waters in those 50 years but God has and will always be the center of our lives and our marriage. It wasn’t just us that made our marriage work. It was God, always with us that kept making sure our marriage worked. We pray together daily and that makes such a difference.

  12. I am going to be sharing with some wives at an upcoming Family Retreat and intend to share with them some of my favorite daily blogs (including this one). God has really been laying on my heart to share with the ladies that next to God, the relationship that we most need to nurture is the one with our husbands. What a wonderful resource to recommend to the ladies to help nourish those two relationships.

    1. I am new to blogs. I recently discovered they existed. May you find God guiding you thru your retreat and the families receive God’s blessing

  13. I would love to see this devotional. I teach a young Mom’s Bible Study and I am always looking for ways to help them become Godly Wives.

  14. Our family has been in a stressful season, and with caring for a child in a hip spica cast, the other child’s up coming cardiology appt and the regular stressors of life we just need some help and encouragement and I would love so new insight on how to be that for my husband!

  15. My husband has dealt with some major health issues in the past year, and I don’t always feel that I am as compassionate or as caring as I should be. Plus, there is always room to grow in God. My husband and I have always noticed that the closer to God that we are then the closer we are to each other. I am always interested in a new ways to draw closer to God, and I love to read!! Thanks

  16. Getting ready to have our 8th child, and being in full-time ministry….things have at times become busy and hard at times. It would be nice to refresh and take time for our marriage . Would love a chance to win a copy!

  17. I struggle everyday with trust issues. I love my husband and I know he loves me. My father repeatedly cheated on my mom and my husbands father cheated on his mom. We constantly have people trying to interfere in our lives. Now we have 9 month old daughter. I know i get busy with her and work and household duties. I feel like I don’t give my husband enough attention and I feel like if I drop everything to spend to.e with him I will never catch up. We also struggle with our Christian walk. I would like tone I church every Sunday, but sometimes that’s his only day off. He would rather sleep in and relax. I don’t want to push him further from God and church. His friends and some family don’t help. They give him grief or going to church. I try to lead by example, but I don’t know how to help him be more Godly and less worldly.

  18. I believe that as godly women we need to improve on a daily basis. This can only happen through prayer and seeking our father
consistently. I have learned the hard way that we need to become more like him. Show grace, mercy, love and patience just like
He has shown me. I believe this book will encourage my walk with the Lord and keep seeking Him on a consistent basis. Thank you
For the give away. It will definately be a blessing to someone.

  19. Thanks for the giveaway, My prayer lately has to been to rekindle the fire. To concentrate on what God has given me on earth… a wonderful, loving, God fearing man. After 27 years of marriage, we do love each other however, life’s responsibilities seem to be wearing down on me especially.

  20. Your new book is one that I can benefit from , even after 39 years of lmarriage. I really do not know how to be a Christian wife and reflect on what God wants for my life. I struggle with this issue every day. Thank you for writing a book on such a valualble subject.
