  1. I am loving all this “kindness”. This is helping me teach my child “random acts of kindness”. I am feeling the Christmas Spirit and sharing with others. Thank you

  2. Hopefully, third times a charm? I am trying to leave a comment, but maybe I don’t get it and I’m doing something wrong? Entirely possible.

Hi Karen! So glad I saw this post from Jill Savage today! Every year each of my kids gets an advent calendar – except the year I forgot and created the 12 Days of Christmas for them celebrating something special about each of them each day. This year is the first year we won’t be home for Christmas, so I wanted to do the 12 Days of Christmas again starting tomorrow, but couldn’t figure out a theme. They are 15 and 11 and not in need- my husband and I have been trying to figure out how to make this Christmas special without buying them much. This is a perfect idea! We will supply what they need to treat others, and hopefully thoughtfulness will pour out of them and they will remember the joy of serving others! Thank you so much for your inspiration – and thanks to Jill who seems to magically show up when I need help! :)

  3. Hi Karen! So glad I saw this post from Jill Savage today! Every year my kids each get an advent calendar, except one year when I forgot and covered by creating the 12 Days of Christmas, each day celebrating something special about each of them. This year, for the first time, we won’t be home for Christmas, so I planned to do the 12 Days of Christmas again starting tomorrow. I have been searching for the right idea – the right inspiration – they are 15 and 11 and really don’t need anything (we just took a special Thanksgiving trip) – but I still want the holidays to be special for them. My husband and I have had more conversations about how to creatively make this a special Christmas without all the buying, and your idea, which I am going to steal, is perfect! I will supply everything they need to treat others, and hopefully we will see thoughtfulness pour out of them and they will remember the joy of serving others. Thank you so much for your inspiration, and thanks to Jill, who seems to magically turn up whenever I need help! :)

  4. Cheering up a co-worker is a great idea, especially the quieter colleagues who don’t always fit into the “boisterous jollity” of the season.

  5. Gosh, I can think of so many people to do this for. Maybe do them all? I haven’t had joy in Christmas for a few years. This is helping to bring it back. Thank you!

  6. Hi Karen! So glad I saw this post from Jill Savage! Every year my kids each get an advent calendar…except one year when I forgot and instead created 12 Days of Christmas for them, each day celebrating part of who they are. This year, for the first time, we won’t be home for Christmas so I skipped the advent calendar and decided to do 12 Days of Christmas again starting tomorrow. For the last week I have been searching for ideas…they are teenagers who need nothing…but I still want the holidays to feel special for them. I am stealing this idea and can’t wait to get started! I will provide what they need to treat others…hopefully thoughtfulness will pour out of them and they will see the joy of serving others. Thank you SO much for your inspiration! And…thanks to Jill, who keeps magically showing up in my life when I need help! ?

  12. My husband did this to me! I’m getting ready to travel, and we couldn’t find a charger cord for my phone. He stopped at a gas station and got me that and two candy bars!

  13. Really helps me focus on others! Daughter and I doing it each day even though not posting on social media… that seems awkward.
