Welcome to those who have clicked your way over after reading my Proverbs 31 Ministries devotion How to Hear a Heart Drop. (If you haven’t read it yet, click here to do so.)
In the devotion, I talked about hearing a heart-drop that my friend Trisha gave. A heart-drop is when a person, either directly or in a cryptic way, gives you a peek into their heart. It may be through actual words, or you might pick up on a feeling, perhaps sadness or loneliness. It is a window into their soul.
We can become skilled at tuning our ears to the heart-drops of those around us and then responding with a thoughtful gesture. It doesn’t have to be an elaborate gift. It can be a kindly spoken word. A handwritten note. A loving text or encouraging comment left on social media. A shared heart over a cup of coffee. A brief moment where we put ourselves to the side for a moment to pause. To notice. To respond. To echo God’s heart toward them.
Hearing a heart-drop is an art we must lovingly cultivate. It can lead to the most wonderful times of encouragement as we make it our habit to listen and to love.

I have, what I call God nudges, but seems to be similar to your heart drops! I try to listen and reach out by taking someone for coffee or buying them a book! I would love to receive this gift and share it with my friends!
Yes! All signed up for the P31 OBS! My husband and I ran a homeless Mission and after one of our services I asked one of our regular homeless gentleman (Dale and he looked like Sam Elliot the actor) how he was doing? Dale was one of the hardest men on the streets but he really opened up to me and shared alot about his life and the things he missed like his mom’s home made pies. So I put that in the back of my mind for later. Father’s day was coming up I had made two lemon meringue pies and Dale popped into my mind and decided to give one of those pies to him. My husband made sure he got it for whatever reason I can’t remember why I couldn’t give it to him personally? But my husband said that Dale was so blown away and just about brought to tears that I remembered what he shared with me. Even though I didn’t get to see his face I could imagine it and it brought me joy. Later on he did thank me in person and he couldn’t stop talking about the pie and how much it meant to him. I love doing the unexpected things for others.

When my daughter was born people showed up with food and help. Such a blessing as we don’t live near family.
I love listening for the ?drops of others! I really enjoy sending texts of encouragement which usually include verses of scripture and lots of love and hugs! Whenever we can do it, I love to bless others with gifts of my time or financial gifts. It truly brings joy to be able to bring a smile to my friends and family!

I signed up for the study Monday when I first read it was the next one! I couldn’t be more excited :) I would absolutely LOVE to win this prize and share with other women who can spread the love of Jesus through what they learn in your book Listen, Love, Repeat. Last year for my birthday I made an appointment to get my hair cut. This is something that happens like once a year if I’m lucky. The appointment was for a cut only because I barely had the money for that…much less a wash, dry/style. When I showed up for my ‘cut’ I found out that ‘someone’ (my best friend) had come a day or two before and paid for EVERYTHING! I had the full salon treatment including a wash, dry/style thanks to her. It was one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me!
I want to be a blessing to others and listen for heart drops and let Jesus shine in everything I do! This study will definitely help me get there :)
