*Give Away has Ended*
It’s Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways!
If you’re just joining in, be sure to catch up by starting at Day One here.
My guest today for day two is a new friend, Valerie Woerner. Here she is with her favorite part of Christmas and a great giveaway!

Slowing down, especially at the holidays, is hard for me but I’m also a huge introvert. One of my favorite things about this season is the stillness that the Christmas Eve service brings to my soul. Any last minute hustling and bustling is gone and I feel like every distraction that competes with my attention during the season suddenly stops at the door. Singing “O Holy Night” by candlelight is one of the most “present” moments of my year and where I find myself most in awe of the fact that Jesus’s birth is not just a story in a book but the turning point in history. What a wonderful gift God gave to us!
Now, tell us in the comment section on this post what brings stillness to your soul during the flurry of frenzy at Christmastime.
Have a holy and hushed holiday season,
Love,
Valerie

Thanks for giving me pretty papers to enjoy while I write to my Fathet!t
I love just sitting on my couch snuggling close to the Christmas tree. We love Christmas movies, and the glow from the tree makes any crazy day better.
I agree! I love being at our Advent services and singing Christmas carols. It is like the whole world stops.
I try to not schedule too many events in December. Now that our girls are out of school, it seems like life has slowed down considerably. I try to stick with the important and not fill the calendar.
We go to Church on Christmas day. I like journaling I forget sometimes but I am trying to learn God’s words.
We also look forward to our Church Christmas Eve service but I also like to do some sort of Advent devotion to ready and prepare my heart.
Sipping eggnog by the fireplace with my sweet husband
I need to spend time with God in centering prayer. I’m reading a chapter of Luke each day during this Christmas season to prepare myself too.
I love a good prayer journal!
Day 2. Thanks for sharing your Christmas favorite with us. I also love O Holy Night
Favorite Christmas songs: Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, NOEL! Merry Christmas to all!
I love playing Christmas songs on the piano. It helps me focus the true meaning of Christmas and gives me a sense of peace and calm.
Such a great selection of gifts. Love listening to Christmas carols always makes me feel the stillness and wonders of this Holy Season.
I have seen the gifts come and go, but what lasts are the memories. I like to get up before anyone else , turn on my Christmas tree and nativity and read my advent calendar to remind me why this holiday is and give thanks for the day and its blessings.
My morning time offers the best moments for being still I read a devotional, sip some coffee and sometimes journal. Even then it can be hard to slow my brain down but I keep trying
I try to stay still for the holidays and enjoy the moment. Some days that works out better than others.
Just taking a few minutes each day to breathe in God helps me focus and stay calm during these busy times.
The early morning hours are my time to reflect and meditate in God’s presence. Just a cup of tea/coffee and peaceful house just before the household wakes sets the tone. Lord bless!
Making the season of Advent an adventure; a journey to quiet my heart, seeking Him at the manger and the cross… In everyday small things all along the way rather than focusing just on having a perfect Christmas Day. (That mentality had left me disappointed and forlorn years ago… Giving up on that and enjoying every Advent Day has been the biggest blessing to me and a tradition I look forward to and am so excited for!!!) It’s Advent – Come Lord Jesus!!
I love to stay up after my kids and husband have gone to bed to read a book or watch a Christmas movie by the lights of my Christmas trees and mantle. It’s such a serene and beautiful view.
Karen Eihman’s Christian products look truly inspirational and would be a welcome addition to my Christian library!!
I read Ann Voskamp’s The Greatest Gift every morning.
Listening to Christmas music, especially in church, centers me during this hectic season. I also love wrapping gifts for my loved ones by the lit tree, with Christmas music on.
I try to have still moments through out the day. If I feel a moment of pure stress I take deep breaths and that provides me with a still moment throughout my body.
I like to go to different churches’ Christmas programs
