Chessa Mooreย is the wife of Ben and the mother to teens and near-teens: Sidney, Tyler and Katelyn. Sheโs the kind of girl who canโt sit still and always has to be creating something. If she sees something she likes, she sets out to determine a way to create it herself! Occasionally, this means she gets her handy-husband and creative-kiddoโs involved in the project(voluntarily or otherwise)!
You can find her documenting these adventures on her blog,ย Antsi-Pants.ย Chessa loves to spend her summers in Michigan, on the beaches of Lake Michigan, enjoying the mild winters in North Carolina, and checking out Godโs creative handiwork, every place in between. Check outย Chessaโs Etsy shopย where you can pick up some of her crafted treasures.
Here’s another cute patriotic idea: DIY Patriotic Flip Flops.
Karen, I got to tell you this title gave me a chuckle and made me look. I thought they were “paint ball jars” to keep “paint balls in”. I’ve lived with a teenage boy too long.
BTW: The jars are great.
I LOVE these jars and plan to make them with my kids this weekend or next! Other cool thing I like to do with canning jars: 1. Paint a design, but don’t cover the entire jar. If I were going to use the patriotic theme, I would paint the red stripes and blue background. I’d leave the white stripes and stars unpainted. Then carefully drill a small hole (craft stores should be able to show you how to do it safely)
in the back of each jar and run a set of white Christmas tree-style lights into the jars. Make sure the lights fill the jar evenly and go all the way to the top. You could even spring for a set of twinkling lights for the blue jar! 2. Paint the same design, but this time use white glow-in-the-dark paint for the stars and white stripes. They will look great outside all day, and when the sun goes they will still look amazing! And because they were out in the sun all day, the glow should last an extra long time.
